Twice in the last few weeks I've noticed a friend request from someone I played against, but which is now like 8 hours old. Guess I just don't notice them while I'm playing? Or they request just after I finish and log out? Anyway, those guys got denied, so I'll never know if was salt or genuine good games.
I once played a self brewed secrets mage and I played against a midrange hunter at rank 9. I completely obliterated him. I played the right secrets at the right time, I had answers to everything he played, one after the other, his plays were shot down. After the game he sent me a friend request and I was interested in what he had to say so I added him, and he told me: "You must promise me that you'll get to legend this season with this deck. You had an answer to every card I played, your deck is amazing!" It was such a fun and enriching conversation, I really really appreciated his words.

Strangely, today, the hunter that topdecked exact lethal with Leeroy Jenkins and the zoolock that killed me with 3x Power Overwhelming did not accepted my friend request :(
a few days ago i fought the most interesting (and only one to date) mill rogue, he used stuff like Clockwork Giant and Mana Wraith really at the correct time, i won after regain the board but really had a hard time. Tried to add him to talk about his deck and report a few mistakes he made, but no sucess.
I would love an optional (big emphasis to this)feature to allow us to chat with those we have just played. I've never cared enough to send friend requests myself even after amazing games and lately I've stopped bothering accepting requests because more often than not it's salty people. Allowing optional chat essentially gives the same functionality as friend requests, but much less hassle and benefits those who miss the friend request.
"The player you last played would like to chat - Yes? No?" Then the same whisper system that we already have. This only appears if you have the feature turned on (which you would manually be required to turn on).
I don't know about anyone else in this thread but I played League for 6 years and finally quit for the last time this year. I find Hearthstone players much friendlier and willing to take criticism. Granted, comparing any player base to the hell beasts of League is a joke. Satan with an AIDS gun is more appealing, but in my opinion Hearthstone players are generally chill.
I've added people just to BM after a game where we slung emotes back and forth and people were still cool about it. Occasionally somebody adds me to lose their shit but I assume he/she is just playing while they wait for their League que.
Overall HS is a good community. Best stream community by far on Twitch. Blizzard, for all its awful greed and abysmal design teams is a pretty entertaining group. They laugh at themselves and encourage the players to do the same.
I usually don't add people 'cause I tend not to notice that I've had a request until hours later or the next day - by then I don't know whether they're salty or superior players. Blizzard could improve this...
I usually accept friend requests but I might have to stop. I beat this duplicate mage using a hybrid hunter VLPS used to use and just got all salt. I wanted to correct him that I played hybrid hunter not face, but he unfriended me :(
I have accepted every friend request I have gotten. I only ever not been cursed out once. I have sent out quite a few after I played an interesting deck or had a fun match but none have ever been accepted.
It's unfortunate how salty people get. I wish there was a legit "Good game!" emote. Like every time you push the button you spend a dollar that way the player knows when you're being legit lol. It would be nice to let my opponent know that I'm just adding them to ask a question about the deck or how they've been doing on ladder if I play a priest ditto or something.
It's nice to add people sometimes, but I generally never accept unless I'm pretty sure the other player isn't salty. Instances where I've requested include: awesome username, great game, and one where I just got obliterated with a self-brewed deck. Some added me, just didn't.

I think deck choice has a big part of it too. I could be playing Face Hunter because the meta calls for it yet still be interested in your home-brew Control Rogue that you queued into me with. Don't judge a player by their deck choice :)
It's pretty handy to have a big friendlist for when you get the Spectate quest. I accept friend invites and send them myself too if I have something to say after a game. I do decline them if I played something aggresive on curve and I'm pretty sure they are very angry.

Just want to give a shout out to all the players that have denied friend requests after great matches.
I can't blame you, since it's normally all salt, but it bums me out not being able to tell someone I appreciated the game.
From new decks, to different playstyles, and sometimes most of the craziest RNG I've ever seen.
Good game!
And Now, A Topic For Us To Chat About;
Have you ever had a match that you appreciated the other players' skill?

quite often. Met interesting folks more than douche salt bags

Played an awesome priest deck earlier today and wanted to tell the person I really liked their deck. So I go to friend request, and of course... Nope.
I always accept requests, and more often than not I get nice people rather than salt.
Quite often. people don't add people because they are douchebags. They want to brag more than anything. That's probably why no one wanted to add you.

need take time to make new pic and signature using the new cards.

The HS community is toxic. I play MtG when I want to interact with people.
Great art can never be created without great suffering.

I accepted friend request twice and it was big mistake in both cases. I got only salt, cancer and shit about my mother.

Usually if I deny a friend request, it's because you're not my friend.
We played one game. If I'm not up for a rematch against you, then I'm not accepting.
I generally accept friend requests from people who are my friends, or people I'm acquainted with.
Nothing to do with salt. I just have no obligation to friend you.
