Hey everyone, I am a mediocre player that plays hearthstone mainly for fun and normally not high end decks. For the majority of my time playing hearthstone I have played Druid and Paladin and Warlock, but today I decided to make a (low tier) control warrior deck, and after playing around with it for around 5 games (not many at all) I found it really fun gameplay with the difference and diversity in the moves you can make each turn and the strength of the warrior class cards. I want to invest more dust into warrior but I'm not sure whether to go straight for it or wait until a few weeks into WoG when the meta stabilises and the best cards have come to light.
FYI, my warrior deck contains no crafted warrior cards, decided to make it because I realised I had 2 slam and 2 inner rage from card packs and thought I'd give it a go.
My list goes something like this, the neutral minions change around every now n then and I sometimes switch up the warrior cards
Also any help on my deck so far would be great, I'm only rank 17 and I have a decent pool of rares and about 5 neutral epics and only murkeye thaurissan and maexxna for legends
What kind of Warrior deck are you looking to make? Midrange, Control, Aggro? As of now, I'd wait for the expansion because a lot of core cards are going, while a lot of new cards are coming in. From what we've seen thus far, Dragon and Patron Warrior and shaping up to be a couple of the better Warrior archetypes.
I did mention Control at the start of the 3rd line. Dragon requires all of BRM so I could probably get it from gold (1 wing as of now) but wouldn't be able to add LoE cards for a while due to being F2P. I thought Control warrior was a really strong archetype that wouldn't change too much based on available cards (many cards are from classic set)
Control Warrior is a solid, stable deck, but it also costs the most. I think I mine ran around ~11000 dust, so it's not very F2P friendly since it requires a lot of expensive cards to be effective on the ladder. If you're willing to save up, I'd say go for Control. There are variations of Control that are slightly cheaper, such as Dragon. Patron is my personal favorite because it does what Control lacks in, which is establish early tempo and deal with aggro.
If you're really looking to get into CW, as a longtime Warrior I'd say craft the epics before Gromm. He's a great card and I even crafted my own golden version, but he won't matter if you don't survive to play him. Cards like Shield Slam and Brawl are important to deal with heavy boards. Plus, you get 3 Epics for the cost of 1 Legendary.
not sure how good you are at math, but epics cost 400 and legendaries cost 1600 and 1600/400 is 4 not 3. just saying.
TBH not sure how i'm gonna proceed, thinking of dusting all of my wild cards and then sticking to my main (druid) even with the nerfs (mainly because I can craft the new ledgy and the druid ledgendary is SWEET)
If I were to play CW without the 6+ mana cost legendaries would there be any viable replacements or is it a lost cause to just make the removal and early game cards without the endgame finishers like grom and ysera (ysera isn't exactly a finisher but still endgame power monsters)
Sorry lol long day of Physics and programming fried my math skills. You can fill it with pretty much any high mana-cost minions, it's just that the legendaries usually bring additionally effects that help you maintain control and really seal the game.
respect to you for doing physics and programming, that stuff isn't easy as far as I know, only in high school. Still in 2 minds about how to go and what direction for WoG, considering druid (because of the new legendary) and CW but I have about 1750-2250 dust so I can only really invest one way or the other as I intend to get a legendary from somewhere. If i can't decide Ill end up with a classic neutral legendary or save the dust for other decks. I'll wait to see how each c'thun deck from each class pans out, if any of my fav classes make great C'thun decks I'll jump on the bandwagon and become what I hoped to destroy. (pretty much just people who only use the best deck because it's good). Kinda annoyed that i'm being forced out of my fun decks due to standard and wild will be too difficult to play in without highly OP decks so I can choose a new deck type and still deciding and I will be for a while. depends on the meta
update; I should have about 2600-2800 dust by WoG (1400-1500 from nerfs, 1200 from nax/gvg, got some already and some more if i de extras)
is it better to just make a standard tempo/midrange shaman and climb w that? or try to make up a CW deck with 1 legendary or pretty much every other card or a druid deck w fandral (fandral is soo much fun and good).
Also if I don't go to a specific deck, what would the best craftable classic legendary be (neutral)? assuming it would be sylvanas or rag or ysera now that silence is weaker and bgh is more costly (for rag/alexstraza/onyxia type stuff)

i like sylvannas as its a great low cost legendary and the op has to counter it
ye and now that bgh is nerfed id say go with grom as bgh will be played less but sylvannas is a neutral

CW will change quite a bit (again) in standard, with Shieldmaiden and Death's Bite leaving.
Right now, I'd work towards LOE wing 4 to get Elise Starseeker (and Obsidian Destroyer), then wait and see.
I wouldn't dust any wild cards yet. CW is a Top 3 deck in the current (wild) meta, so it's almost guaranteed to end up highly viable in WOG wild too.
