Hey everyone! Since this is my first deck submission, I figured I'd quickly say a bit about myself. I'm a long-time tcg player and have been playing MTG since 1994. I host my own limited events (cube/draft) and have competed in various tournies over the years such as Grand Prix and PTQs. I was also one of the top 100 rank players for Hearthstone NA
This deck is essentially the one I played all the way to 3 Star Master rank (for whatever that's worth) - while ranking up the deck went 28-4. I've been revising/modifying it over time and I think it's stronger than ever. The deck functions by aggressively removing threats while applying threats of your own...
SI:7 Agent, Eviscerate and Backstab work well to deal with early-mid game threats while Sap and Assassinate easily tempo or remove late game fatties. Cantrips and heavy removal bring some late game staying power. Leeroy Jenkins is primarily used as a surprise finisher but also goes well with Fan of Knives. The Coin into Defias Ringleader or Faerie Dragon are both ideal first turn plays! The general goal is, at the end of your turn, to have board presence while leaving the opponent with nothing.
*I mostly play arena (I do well enough to have a good surplus of gold strictly from arena wins) so I don't have access to too many cards yet. As such, I'll be updating this as I acquire more and re-evaluate certain cards.
Thanks for taking the time to read all of this nonsense!
I approached the deck in concept from a long history of MTG. You don't really need synergy as you flat out remove your opponents threats or tempo them. Gelbin is actually fantastic if your opponent has an empty board (unless you get Repair Bot, then it's just boils down to rng). With that said, I am looking to cut him and the Abom once I get something better (Van Cleef perhaps)
Shiv is used as a cheap card draw and finisher for when Backstab, Eviscerate, Perditions Blade, Hero Power attack, SI:7 agent, Novice Engineer trade doesn't finish off a minion. I've considered Fan of Knives instead, but the 3 mana cost is actually very relevant and I don't find myself needing the board sweep - plus it can't hit your opponent in the face.
I've queued up in three 3 Star Master Ranked games today with this deck and have won each game (including another Rogue Spell Damage deck). Try it out!
edit: If anyone has suggestions for cards to swap I'd be happy to try them out!

edit: I've removed a couple cards and I'm trying out Fan of Knives. I might replace them with Headcrack since it looks to be a useful finisher.
Thanks for taking the time to read all of this nonsense!
I think that you should keep the Fan of Knives and not take Headcrack. Here is my reasoning. If you end up playing a hunter with this deck without the FoK you're going to get overwhelmed pretty easily. Yes you have Assassinate, but it costs 5 and removes 1. FoK + Perdition's blade will clear most Hunter or even Warlock rush decks. good luck!
I've tried Trump's Control rogue, but I didn't like it for a variety of reasons. (my general philosophy is that cards should be good on their own, or at the very least not useless without a combo). That's kind of my problem with Blade Flurry...without another card it's pretty useless and feels pretty bad sitting in your hand without a good wep or DP if you're facing a really strong opponent. With that said, I'll test it out, the 3 dmg across the board could be very strong (also considering adding a single Assassin's Blade)
I've also removed Twilight Drake for Azure Drake for the time being. Seems to be working well so far.
I've also tried Betrayal but it seems rather bad against some popular decks I've seen in 3 Star Masters lately...so it's kinda situational...much like Acidic Swamp Ooze If Hearthstone had a sideboard I'd totally run both of them in it. In fact, if swarm/aggro type decks become stronger in the meta I'd consider running them main deck.
Oh, and I'm keeping Fan of Knives. Most hunter decks I run into these days are that janky one-turn-kill rush deck and it's kinda useless against them - but those decks are somewhat easy to beat once you know what they're doing and just throw all your stuff at their face. FoK is just pretty solid and has the best 3 words in any tcg "Draw a Card" :)
Edit: I'm not really feeling this one. I queue'd for several games today in 3 Star Masters...and my original (ongoing) brew seems a lot more consistent.
I haven't had too much trouble with hunter lately - most are playing that janky one-turn-kill Beast rush deck and once you realize that you can just throw all your stuff at their face. Ysera is very handy finisher vs hunters if you can last that long since their single target removal isn't as effective vs her. I have gotten completely demolished by a warrior weapon deck, but that was only once and I don't think that justifies Acidic Swamp Ooze over Faerie Dragon. You have to play very aggressively vs both of those classes since they tend to rush-down more than others.
Another lover of Ysera. Random cards just dont jive with me.
Yeah I totally understand that. She just has so much late-game staying power and drawing an extra card (powerful and undercosted) is game winning - especially when you've already baited their most powerful removal. I've considered other possibilities, but I don't have access to them yet. :)
Betrayel is better than fan of knives in a none spelldamage/stealth deck, because its a 1 for 2 in most situations, realy good with sap, because you can sap out the target you dont want to hit with betrayel, for example.
I've tried Betrayal and found it to be sorta useless in a lot of situations. If they only have 1 minion it's completely useless and even if they have 3 it doesn't kill their biggest threat - they can also play around it if they're smart by positioning their minions certain ways. I think it's pretty decent vs aggro/swarm decks but I don't see them in 3 Star Masters atm. Like I said before, if Hearthstone had a sideboard I'd include them...but as it is I believe FoK to be more useful as it's also a cantrip. :)
If you had all of the cards that you wanted to put in this deck, what would they be? And what would you replace to fit them in? I'm asking because I have most of the cards and I'm curious to see if I can push this deck to the next level!

That's somewhat of a tough question. There are several legendaries that I'd like to try out and think would be good in the deck. Sylvanas Windrunner, Leeroy Jenkins or Edwin VanCleef in place of Spellbreaker or Novice Engineer could all be possible fits - I'm curious to see how they'd play out in practice.
You're very welcome, I'm glad that this thread is helping a couple people at least. Flesheating Ghoul is certainly a possibility but I have no idea what I'd swap it for.
This deck is still very strong - I'm using it to quickly climb through the new ranks. I might update this in a bit as the new changes sink in. I also found that I'm one of the top 100 ranked players for Hearthstone in NA, so that's cool.
I'm still using this rogue deck. I've replaced Sprint with a second Sap (which I think is really undervalued - I love sapping their buffed/taunt guy for tempo or sapping a huge taunt for the win). I'm currently rank 14 with 100% win ratio. The other deck I play is a pretty standard pyro-aggro Mage deck - but I like this one much more
What's your advice when facing a frost giants mage deck? I just lost to one going all out and damaging the mage after the board was clear. Would always hit him w/ perd's blade etc. if he had no minions on the field.

Paper meet scissors. If you fear this archetype you are going to have to maindeck Assassinate. It is possible to kill a giant with enough tempo, 2 3 power minions + 2 more damage from whatever (at a huge cost to tempo) - but the thing is that deck runs 4 giants and putting 2 down can be game over by itself - meaning you probably better off doing 8 damage to the player instead and try to win by pace.
If you are encountering this deck often you may want to main deck answers, but in all honesty most people dont play this deck - the other mage tempo variant is cheaper in cost to construct and has a high success rate - which is a better match up for you anyways since you have a lot of targeted removal.

Can you post what this deck would be if you had every single card you wanted? I happen to have a good chunk of dust and vancleef atm. Thanks

I agree with this ^^^
I think Betrayal would be a nice card for this deck and not Shiv.
Thanks for the suggestions!
