Not much different than other Midrange Pally decks, mainly the removal of Slugde Belchers (good vs aggro, but too passive and slow for anything else), and the inclusion of Solemn Vigil (running 2 equality and not 1 copy of this card seems like a waste to me) and Loatheb (any deck that focus on board control should run Loatheb).
My question is, now that Patron Warrior is dead (#feelsgoodman), what techs should be included or replaced in MR Pally? Ive reached rank 10 so far with this deck and the only decks that gave me trouble were facehunter and Dragon Priest, which is to be expected really.
The cards im more willing to change are Solemn Vigil (preferably for another draw engine, i dont like having only Lay on Hands for card draw), 1 Murloc Knight (sometimes 2 can clog cuz of Justicar hero power, Sylvanas could be a good replacement) and 1 Equality (love running 2, but maybe its not as necessary as it used to be). All suggestions are welcome!
Here it is the list i've been using to rank since season 14. I think it's quite unique because of Ragnaros the Firelord as a finisher. Trust me, it has won me so many games. I replaced Sylvanas Windrunner with Justicar Trueheart just for the lulz.
I think thats all I can tell you about my list. About yours well... I don't like the Murloc Knight because it's a turn 6 play. It's too slow, it can be removed easily and the Piloted Shredder trades better with everything. I don't think that Solemn Vigil it's a good card draw engine. I just simply don't like it that much. I will say listen to Zorthander about the Acolyte of Pain inclusion instead of Solemn Vigil
Good luck ranking with the good old Midrange Paladin.
The tech you need to bring on the common midrange Paladin list is some kind of cheap heal, because Hunters will be everywhere now. Most of the times I find myself losing to a topdeck of a Hunter (which is acceptable since 25/30 cards of its deck can be direct damage) for one turn. So probably tech in a Holy Light, Seal of Light, or some Earthen-Ring Farseer. Healbot and Lay on hands are good but slow.
Thought about Acolyte, but not being able to trigger it on my own makes it a weak draw late game.. gonna need some testing. Thx!
I use Cult Maser 1x, Solemn Vigil 1x. They are terrific card draws since you have so many tokens. I'm thinking of removing my Murloc Knight since I already get really good card draws with what I'm running.
What has Murloc Knight has to do with card draws? The knight is an amazing tool to flood the board and pay 2 to get a better than 2 minion each turn.
Perhaps my perspective is different because I play a little more arena than I do constructed, but Murloc Knight = hero power more often, which saves you from needing a lot of cards. Card draw in arena is something that I pay a lot of attention to, since there are often turns when both players run out of cards.
Card draw is overrated in this game. It's amazing to have, but getting out of your way to grab it is counterproductive. Paladin's got a very unique form of card draw and it's either Divine Favor or Lay on Hands. Both fit different decks.
If your point is that by Murloc Knight you keep the steam going and you don't need to dig for threats, I will definitely agree and underline that Paladin's power is exactly that. Threat through board control.
Tried to make do with just Coghammer and Tirion, but facehunter is just demolishing this deck so i went back to 2x Sludge Belcher, more sinergy with solemn vigil anyway.
MR Pally just doesnt have enough agression to play with only 1 taunt in mid game, not with so many aggro out there. Was lacking a bit of control for big threats so Sylvanas came back replacing Loatheb. Had quite a bit of success with Solemn Vigil, makes tempo equality a much more worthwhile play.
Still im getting crushed by both face AND midrange hunter (the latter being a matchup i never had trouble with), so im not sure what im doing wrong. Already have to put up with playing healbot, which i HATE, so teching anything else for those matchups w/o weakening all the others seems impossible. Suggestions?
Yea facehunter has its resurgence, deck is very strong and annoying as ever. Cancer to beat cancerpally. You could try cutting a belcher for a 2nd chow or running no belchers and an argus. Because they always have an owl for belcher anyway. And when you drop tirion, you are about to die from skill command and quickshot.
This is what I would try out, got two coghammers and an argus for taunts, no vigil (I just have no idea how to fit, maybe for a consecration, but that would be bad I guess), only one truesilver:
Lol yeah you are right, didn't notice that missing actually. Cutting a quartermaster for BGH seems like a good trade IMO.
2x Equality, 2x Aldor, 1x Owl and Sylvanas are all the control i really need, havent missed BGH at all. If you want BGH so badly you can sub an equality for it, but then Solemn Vigil wont be as good.

Truesilver is too good, you should always run 2. Replace 1 Coghammer for it, you dont need 2. I prefer Sludge Belcher over Argus here, but thats up to preference i think. Solemn Vigil is only good if you run 2 Equality. The rest looks solid.
Is Justicar a must have now that Patron Warrior is gone? I've never mained Pally, but I'm now tempted to put my faith in the light. I'm not exactly sold on Justicar though, since I don't play Priest or Warrior either

Justicar is stronger in Warrior than it is in Paladin (In priest She is also stronger than in Paladin, though she performs better in CW). It is a nice add in some midrange paladins (assuming you get other cards that's really difficutl to replace like Tirion), but I think she adds a lot more value in other decks.

Now thats a funeral im happy to attend! Dont bother defending that poor excuse of a deck, you will find no simpathy here.

You could include Acolyte of Pain instead of Solemn Vigil.

Even though I haven't rank that much this season, I can tell you that this list can beat anything if you mulligan correctly. Dragon Priest and Face Hunter are 2 of my favorite matchups. For Dragon Priest I use to mulligan for this cards: Truesilver Champion, Piloted Shredder, Shielded Minibot, Muster for Battle and Quartermaster if I have Muster and the coin. I tend to save Equality for the big dragons like Ysera or Chromaggus.
Against Face Hunter well, you just have to Hard mulligan for Zombie Chow, Shielded Minibot and Muster for Battle. You have to play very carefully against the Knife Juggler Unleash the Hounds combo in turn five and the secrets.

Murloc Knight is amazing. Won me a lot of games this season. The only card draw i have on my deck is LoH and i don't really feel i need more.
How are you doing without any taunts at all?
Tried to make do with just Coghammer and Tirion, but facehunter is just demolishing this deck so i went back to 2x Sludge Belcher, more sinergy with solemn vigil anyway.
