So, with Paladin being my favorite class and the one with the most wins (also the one I first got Legend with back in Un'goro) I was really excited once I saw Scorp-o-matic during the reveals. Deck/Legend(current season)/stats(will be updated after more games as the sample size is kind of small with only a dozen games played = etc are attached below. Keep in mind this is still work in progress. Current winrate is 60 percent. (just a disclaimer for anyone who doesn;t know, winning games in legend actually makes you LOSE ranks, fyi). ANYWAYS, so..
I instantly knew I would want to experiment with the card within a control shell. I did experiment with it for a bit and I had promised myself to go back to that archetype once the meta settled, but I completely forgot about it with that many archetypes being available right after the release and with the recent nerfs.
I just want to point out that the very reason I'm back to my very first experiment in Kobolds, is a streamer named Chump, who I love watching. I was watching a stream and heard him mention the card and I instantly logged in and went back to the old shell and started thinking about certain improvements that can be made.
My deck essentially targets Aggro (Dude/Murloc Pally) and specifically Spiteful Priest. Those are more or less your best matchups, but you can win vs virtually any meta deck. Cubelock/Tempo Mage can be tough if you get bad draws and they get the nuts, but you know that story already.
I will keep refining the deck and I will post mulligans/detailed guide post rotation. I'm hoping to start a discussion on this archetype below.
This deck looks interesting. If i played a deck like this in the past with Aldor and Humility i like to play with Acolyte off pain as well, but Maybe lay on hands is better because you always have the 8 healing and 3 draws u can,t guarantee with Acolyte.

I also think Lay is better simply for its ability to both get you out of range and draw 3 but it’s definitely tricky because Acolyte is also really good specificallly in aggro matchups.
Lay on hands turned out to be too slow and with that many paladins I decided to opt for Benevolent Djinn two copies, The additional heal plus the 2/4 body makes it good enough in board based matchups and can be a lfie safer vs Mages.
Val'anyr I ended up cutting for a second steed, again mostly due to Paladins. It turns out it actually makes it really weird when you consider the DK. I also decided to cut Truesilver for a second blade, mostly for consistency.
I guess at this point I'm not sure what the flex spots are anymore. Everything seems too good to cut. Maybe Lich King and the Djinns are flexible though.
i dont have elise and zola. is it playable without those 2 cards? what can i replace them with?
Elise can't be replaced directly and neither can Zola. However, you can ''replace'' them with anything along the lines of heal/draw. Instead of elise i would probably go for Acolyte of Pain and instead of Zola I would probably go for either Tar Creeper or A second kodo. Ysera is also a possibility.
LOL linking a gameplay vs controlock that had double voidlord in hand as an archivement. Great.
What? Listen, noob, I've been legend multiple times including every month this year. It's the only game against control lock I have. I can also back it up with as much proof as you want. Also, here's a game against cubelock https://hsreplay.net/replay/WaFmzhQgSZp9K76gEcTrdT Yeah voidlord in hand too but also, did you even bother to see what I'm playing and what my hand was in any of the posted replays. What a dumb low effort comment. Pathetic. How did we even get to the “achievement part”? Oh I guess you hit your comment count for today! Good job buddy! This community values you soo much.
At least I'm playing something different and people appreciate it. Now go be a dumbass somewhere else. Thank you for your contribution, Unbelievable...
ChumpHS was playing this few weeks back, you might used that as inspiration and made a few changes but essentially its the same deck.
Did you even bother to read the OP or did you go googling until you found something that supports your theory? Also, the decks are COMPLETELY different aside from the combo. Additionally, I've given him credit in the OP for motivating me to go back to something I knew of myself PRIOR to Kobolds launching and I said I was experimenting with that combo as soon as the exp launched. You do realize that don't you? I've specifically written that. It's a really bad attempt at downplaying my deck. Good luck next time though!
If you can't see the differences, I really can't help you. lol.
Well, against spiteful you try and negate their big bodies with humility, aldor and you time your clears properly. Essentially, you want to outlast them. If they curve out like craazy, and you are missing your pieces it can be really tough, I will see if I've got any Priest Replays.

Major thumbs up. This is a synergy I'd never considered.
I don't have Val'anyr. What would you suggest as a replacement?

Must be the first list with no Call to Arms!
Achievement unlocked!
I am updating the thread with two replays from today, One is against Control lock, the other one is against Aggro Pally.

I will crush you!
Nice deck, I faced this the other day and lost hard. Gonna give it a go!

There is a really hilarious otk with 2 Scorp-o-matic, Sonya Shadowdancer, Mechwarper and Spectral Pillager. It's not good, but it is soul-crushing for your opponent when they lose to you...
What's the plan against Dragon Priest with this?
