well there are only two legendarys and two epics in the deck so it's not that expensive. I enjoyed the deck a lot. It's the only class that isn't level 60 for me and I started during beta. No one is playing spell hunter on ladder so people don't always know how to play against it. I went from 5 to legend in about 8 hours of playing this week. It's weak to priest but has good match ups everywhere else.
I've been trying Spell Hunter on and off for a while now, but it's just really bad in the current meta. There are way too many Taunt Druids who just laugh at your measily 3/3s.
If your opponent can easily deal with your Spellstone, you're pretty much out of threats until you get Rexxar going, and even then you're somewhat reliant on RNG.
started playing spell hunter again since the meta has gotten more aggro. It's easy wins vs the new zoo, odd paly, odd rogue, BSM, which makes up a large chunk of the current meta. It is also supposedly slightly favored against evenlock (HSreplay says the matchup is 52% favored) but I keep getting wrecked by them. I have searched for matchup guides for spell hunter, but they're all from before evenlock was a big thing. anyone have any tips for the game plan against evenlock?

A Spell Hunter vs. Evenlock matchup depends heavily on the mulligan. The fortunate part here is that whether you're facing off against Zoolock or Evenlock, one piece that you want is going to be the same. And that's Candleshot. The twist, unfortunately, is whether you gamble on keeping/digging for Hunter's Mark. HM is extremely important against Evenlock and you have to use them wisely. With Candleshot, it's an instant removal for a turn 3 or 4 Mountain Giant, a fat Twilight Drake, or a Hooked Reaver as the game wears on. Other keys include trying to bait out Hellfire to prevent it from wiping out the wolves from your Lesser Emerald Spellstone (and obviously, its promoted forms), working to keep the board largely clear when you hold a Deadly Shot so that you can pop a big threat if they drop it alone, trying to make sure that you aren't out of steam and/or are prepared for when Bloodreaver Gul'dan inevitably brings back 1 or 2 Vulgar Homunculus, and maximizing the use of your Rhok'delar. Using the weapon to remove those taunts and/or help pop off a Hooked Reaver that's in the way of your minions can help. Yes, face-eating 7 is brutal. But sometimes it's necessary to push you over the top and/or keep enough pressure that you don't lose.
Make no mistake, whatever HSReplay says, I don't find that Spell Hunter is favoured against Evenlock, myself. Warlock has a lot of healing. Evenlock in particular is really good at digging for a constant stream of resources to keep the Spell Hunter at bay. And it runs huge threats which Spell Hunter can struggle with in big enough numbers. A little luck and some careful play can win you the match.
Best of luck!

Thank you for the thorough reply. I figured out that the winrate on HSreplay is probably because Evenlock may mulligan poorly expecting recruit hunter, which can steal a few wins. I am quite certain this is a very unfavored matchup. But it's always good to have a game plan to maximize your chances.

Been playing for 3 years and first time to Legend, used this deck. About a 70% Win rate.
Do you think this is worth crafting right now? I just got to rank 5 with zoolock and am looking for something fun to play.
