So I finally broke down and crafted Patches the Pirate. I have 1 question .. and a little salt to sprinkle on top.
Question ... Now that I have Patches, should I run the Pirate package on my Evolve/Bloodlust Shaman? Currently using FireFly's for openers, and the typical Evolve deck from there.
And for the salt ... I crafted him more for a Pirate Warrior deck. I swear, I think out of 20-30 matches, I have got the "nuts" draw maybe 1 or 2 time .. but I swear almost EVERY TIME I have faced a Pirate Warrior, they pull First Mate/Patches into Firey Axe, into pirate after pirate after pirate. I know it's just RNG ... but dammit, after spending every last crumb of dust I had to make what I STILL believe is one of the hardest legendary cards to justify the cost for (although I did it, so I am obviously listening to the advice of others) ... it would be nice to actually get that amazing opener a little more often.

I wanna glide down, over Mulholland I wanna write her, name in the sky I wanna free fall, out into nothin' Gonna leave this, world for awhile
Patches will always be broken in wild, but then alot of decks are teching in crab so it might actually be better to cut the pirate package outside pirate warrior.
you crafted him at the ends of his glory hes not as good as he was i wouldnt spend my dust on him unless you like pirate warrior
PW has been fun so far ... not my #1 choice, but I wanted a deck that had some potential to climb the ladder.
Honestly, it was between crafting Patches to finish out Pirate Warrior, or Fandrel to go Jade ... and I would rather not just be part of the Jade problem right now. It probably would have been the easier way to get up the ladder, but I'n not a big fan of just getting an "Auto Win".
As for being past his prime .. I am not that concerned with him phasing out in a few months. Hell .. I came from playing Mobile Strike where you spent $300 for a set of gear that MIGHT last you a month if you were lucky.

I feel ya on the nut-draw issue. There's also the issue that drawing Patches makes you feel like you basically skipped your draw step, which is a very un-fun experience.
You should definitely put him in Shaman, yes, though I'm always wary of evolving 1-drops because the End could always be Coming. >_>
Never crafted it, never played pirate or aggro druid or evolve shaman and never will, I hate this kind of playstyle, but I don't judge the guys playing it, as long as youu're having fun with this card !
I just can't craft a legendary with 1/1 stats, some kind of psychological barrier I guess haha :D
I crafted him in MSoG, and he's good in lots of decks. I don't play pirate warrior or evolve shaman, but he's really good in just about any rogue deck and aggro paladin, especially with steward of darkshire. A free 1/1 divine shield and charge is just nuts. Especially if you can buff him with tarim or a dire wolf for crazy value trades. It feels a lot less bad when I have to play him myself if I can still get some sort of bonus on him or in rogue as a 1 mana combo activator

Yes, you should play it in shaman, since even if you draw it you can play it with a flametongue and get 3 face damage that turn.
Yeah, the card is insane in token shaman. Thin your deck + free token = awesomeness.

True -- can't beat its value and seems like most decks have him now since Azure Drake got moved to HoF.
Lucky you for pulling him in from a pack! Had to craft him but was so worth it.

I guess he'll always be worth it, so much value for his cost, hope he won't join the hall of fame :/
Nope.
