I have played some ranked match-ups in the new expansion and found out that this deck did poorly vs Quest Hunter due to lack of quick responses. I have made some changes to prevent the deck being weak vs aggro.
+2 Mistress of Mixtures due to lack of quick response to huge number of 1 drops hitting your face
+1 Loot Hoarder a cool early game quest contributor + draw
+1 Tortollan Shellraiser due to really good stats and a contribution to the quest
-1 Onyx Bishop due to the game being too slow and a chance of getting a non deathrattle
-1 Acolyte of Pain due to actually good draw + copying
-1 Curious Glimmerroot due to this card being too random cause the meta is not yet set so you can't really know for sure what the enemy is going to have in his deck
-1 Infected Tauren This creature is too weak for the new aggro decks. The Turtle 2/6 for the same mana is a lot better
So this deck is a pre-release theorycrafting of N'zoth Priest with a very good addition, that hopefully will get a huge attention from the player community, because the deck looks really nice.
The main course of your gameplay should be focusing on getting as much Deathrattle minions on the board as possible in order to get Awaken the Makers done fast. This gives you a strong advantage over all the new aggro decks that might come to life in the new meta. With Amara, Warden of Hope in hand, you can basically wait for the situation in which you need to have the survivability and just get that sweet, sweet 40 HP. REMEMBER: The quest says SUMMON 7 Deathrattle minions. There are a lot of ways to do that.
In order to get as much deathrattle as you can, I've added a ton of ways to do so:
Mirage Caller : a 3 mana 2/3 with one of the best abilities possible in the new meta. For only 3 mana you can summon a 1/1 deathrattle (getting +1 on your quest), which might as well be Cairn.
Onyx Bishop : now, we have seen a lot of Onyx Bishop being played back in the days before Gadgetzan, when Resurrect Priest was still one of the best decks there was. A 5 mana 3/4 that brings your deathrattles to life? That's like wiping your butt with money.
Barnes 4 mana 3/4 + 1/1 (most likely a deathrattle) has been just insane as we might have seen in the year of the Kraken. There are so many good cards to have from Karazan that the only thing that might boost this deck would probably be Resurrect, but sadly it goes to wild now.
Cards to boost your deathrattles with:
Spiritsinger Umbra: This card has been released lately and is one of the best, if not the best card in the whole expansion. Getting a 3/4 for 4 mana with that kind of ability??? Amazing. You think Brann Bronzebeard leaving to wild is bad? Think about this card being a better replacement. IT GIVES YOUR CREATURES DEATHRATTLE BATTLECRY! How over-powered can that thing be?
N'Zoth, the Corruptor: The Old God of basically GG. To turn 10 you are most likely to bring about 10 deathrattles with the whole "summon" abilities, so getting him out on a clear board is the most reasonable thing to do. And even if your opponent uses any kind of aoe dmg/removal, you are left with so many deathrattles activating that it doesn't even matter that much.
Ways to get additional, good cards (best vs mirror matchups) :
Crystalline Oracle : I like the way Blizzard got the new "steal cards from your opponent". Everyone knows that if someone wants to win the game, they have to get a very good deck to play. So in a very good deck you'd normally see some very good cards. And there you have it. A 1 1/1 deathrattle that steals good cards. Very good creature.
The rest of the cards do not need explaining. They are mostly control cards like the Shadow Words or draw abilities.
Hope you like the idea of the deck and I really look up to all the feedback that you guys might have.
Is this deck just an auto-lose to Quest Rogue? Even with a pair of Dragonfire Potions, I don't think this deck can beat Quest Rogue.
Mind you, this isn't knock on this specific deck. I have yet to see or play any Priest deck that can beat Quest Rogue. Certainly no Quest Priest.
Makes me skeptical that you can punch even so high as rank 10.
Experience?
I changed the holy novas to dragonfire potions (because of rogue) and the loot hoarder to a bloodmage thalnos (because of possible synergy with spells and because I have it)
Was against quest rogue that used Lorewalker Cho. I got a copy of it and and they played the quest reward. Fun game, i like this deck.
- Acolyte of Pain
- Onyx Bishop
+ Loot Hoarder
+ Mistress of Mixtures
I think Loot Hoarder is better than Acolyte because it contributes to quest along with a draw.
Onyx didn't work out since your resurrection pool now includes undesirable minions.
Mistress looks like a must have because it contributes to quest early and have wonderful synergy with Umbra for total 8 heals, although it may pollute N'Zoth's revival pool.
I would add Talnos instead of Loot Hoarder. 1 SPD for spells you get from rattles.
Anyway, just played 2 times vs elemental shaman and both times i lost, since there was no win condition.
Summonin 1/1 elementals and 2/2 mistress of mixtures is not helping. :(
I want so badly for this deck to be good.
