09/28/2016: With the announcement of the Yogg nerf, there is no longer a sustainable theme or reason to play this deck. Thank you for the support.
IT IS UPON US.
This deck is kind of tempo-y with a whole lot of RNG and Brann Bronzebeard synergy.
How To Play:
We've got lots of early removal, play it. This deck is a very standard tempo mage kind of deck with cheap spells, Flamewaker , and in place of the glorious E-sportal, Arcane Blast . Don't be worried about exactly how many spells this deck runs, just know when you eventually play Yogg-Saron, Hope's End everything will change. And you'll probably win. Maybe.
Mulligan:
Against pretty much every deck, we're looking for our cheap minions and early removal spells. If you get Flamewaker against aggro hunter or paladin, keep him.
Card Choices:
Again, pretty standard tempo mage frame with Spellslinger thrown in for a chance at AoE, more spells to work with yogg, and general tasty rng fun.
Emperor Thaurissan is included for direct synergy with massive amounts of spells and because we run a frickin' 10 mana card.
Cult Sorcerer is incredible. This card made spellpower good again. Like really really good. It's why I changed the list back to 2x Arcane Blast .
Cabalist's Tome is, in my opinion, a great card this expansion. You are almost always guaranteed to get some really incredible, clutch cards that will more than likely turn the tide of the game. The ONLY downside to this card is its cost directly affecting mage's best AoE spells being played in the same turn.
Yogg-Saron, Hope's End is pure insanity. I used to think this card was kind of poor, but after the many games people have played with it, the general consensus is that the card is borderline unfair. You could be down to yogg in your hand and your opponent can have lethal on the board and a full hand and the tides can turn in the blink of an eye. Yogg often draws you cards and clears the board making it quite the beast.
Card Replacements:
I get it, a lot of people don't like rng. That's ok. We've got choices. Some to include even more rng, some to streamline the deck a little more.
Jeweled Scarab could be thrown in in place of your spellslingers x2 for more strictly beneficial brann bronzebeard synergy. (credit goes to vynestra for suggestion)
Faceless Summoner actually doesn't curve as poorly as i thought it would. Synergizes with Brann well (and gives us another reason to run him in our deck).
Archmage Antonidas is the card you'd replace yogg with if you hate all things fun and chaotic. BUT I no longer believe he is better than yogg in this deck.
Sylvanas Windrunner in place of Thaurissan. She has massive potential this expansion to steal any one of your opponent's game ending cards. The 10 mana combo of playing her into Fireball is magnificient. If your opponent plays Yogg and it kills your Sylvanas, the rest of the spells cast that turn will be from your side.
Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Why no Ice Block ? Your own secrets can't activate on your turn, so yogg will smite you if he deems fit, ice block or no ice block haha.
2. Why no AoE? We run so much single target board clear that synergizes with Flamewaker , I think we can survive without any AoE ran in the decklist. Our tomes and conjurers have a good chance of giving us anything we really need in the course of a game.
3. Why no Servant of Yogg-Saron ? I'd like to keep the deck more tempo than casino purely for consistency. Servant curves poorly and it's battlecry doesn't add to yogg's battlecry.
4. Is there a replacement for Flamewaker ? NO, stop asking. Seriously, you can't run an effective tempo mage without the card.
5. Is there a replacement for Arcane Blast ? Now that we run double cult sorc, the short is no. The long answer is sort of, but only if you absolutely can't craft the cards and the replacements will be worse.

Ladder updates for this deck!
1. I think it's still a lot slower than tryhard tempo mage, so I'm keeping the 2x Mirror Image. Even in a control heavy meta, they give you time to build up your board.
2. I'm not replacing the 2x Spellslinger as that ruins the theme of the deck. You can though, with 2x Water Elemental .
3. I'm also not replacing 1x Cabalist's Tome with 1x Flamestrike , but you can heh.
4. Brann Bronzebeard + Yogg-Saron, Hope's End is the dream and the dream will never die.
5. Much like in my tryhard deck, Forbidden Flame is a good card, but not nearly as reliable as Polymorph when dealing with giant threats.

KARAZHAN UPDATES AND NEW DECKS TO HAVE FUN WITH!
Babbling Book is going to see extensive play in the tempo mage archetype. It gives us a turn 1 play that doesn't involve Mana Wyrm so that kind of makes it a 2 of auto-include. I replaced poly and torch for these guys as they far outvalue those other cards.
I'm also considering Prince Malchezaar for the sheer potential, unpredictability, and great fun that rng brings us.
Speaking of RNG, here's my new deck I've been theorycrafting! There is also a wild variant that's way more fun, albeit not as competitive.

Maybe a full write-up in the future if it gets enough attention. With college starting up soon, I may be a bit busy, but will continue to do my best to answer all of your questions.
I'm really interested in making this deck. Where are y'all at on the ladder with it right now?
this deck is just for funsies to me, but people do well with it. at the very least, i'd replace ancient mage, brann doesnt do enough, everything else is ok. http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/522537-super-srs-laddering-tempo-mage this is the deck i'm using currently. the write-up isn't pretty, but neither is ladder climbing in general.
Should have been called "Have you heard about our yogg and saviour."
This video is FANTASTIC! Super concise, really clear showcase. If you made any changes to the decklist compared to the default one on this guide, please let us all know! heh.
Guys You should check this deck too. more combos with Summoning Stone so more Trolling and more Fun :D
Check it out:
So I came back to revise my thoughts on this deck. It's Really insane. I often can win before I reach 10 mana let alone Find Yog. I came up against a Stall C'thun warrior and he ended up with nearly 60 health. With careful use of luck, the Demented Frostcaller and freeze spells to control the 2 6/6 on the board and keep him from using his fiery war ax I hammered him into the floor and ended up winning without finding Yog.
I do have 1 issue, Forbidden flame is only good for minions, I found with careful control of your spells and using what tactics you can have at your disposal you can deal with big minion drops as they normally come one at a time. What this deck has trouble dealing with is Zoo decks that get out of control. Seeing as Zoo is like if not the most popular deck right now it's the second, I swapped out the Flame for a flame strike which is good enough to clear almost any Zoo board. You can typically live that long unless you draw REALLY poorly. Granted it does mean having to draw the card but it's better then no board clear in the current meta.
a Word of caution is this deck takes a different mindset then normal Midrange mage cause like 85 % of your cards are spells. , so you need to know when to go for face and when to hold back. Sometimes you don't need to blast something off the board right away, it becomes best to sit back and wait it out rather then jumping the gun. But many times there will come a point you can just go ham on someone. a Later game Flame caller with a bunch of spells in your hand, and lord help the other guy if you have a fist full of spells, Flame walker and Apprentice. In the end if it's late game and things look bad, you can always drop Yog, he'll normally clear the board at the very least if he doesn't kill you LOL.
Otherwise I have a ton of fun with this deck even if I lose and TBH I don't lose often. I say if you're looking to play a deck that is fun and can pull a good amount of weight against more " Super Cereal decks " This is a REALLY good one.
Really cool deck, but I don't like Ancient Mage, and I don't really understand Brann here. It's highly unlikely for him to survive one turn for Yologg next turn :) I also don't think you can't run both Yogg and Antonidas. That's why i put him in + one hex.
So. Much. Fun.
And viable! Yogg-sarron has basically served as my last resort oh shit button and has won me the game, twice now when I happen to be less than 5 hp.
I swapped out Ancient Mage for Demented Frostcaller. Went from base 20 o star to 14 so far, got a ways to go still- but it was a solid streak.
I was really surprised that this is actually viable deck. I tried it just for fun just to try Yogg, which actually lost me a game, which I could have win without him. I believe that with some tinkering this could become a new tempo mage. As for Yogg, maybe there would be a better replacement for him or he can stay as a last resort for a possibility to turn a lost game over. But he is definitely not a win condition of this deck.
I put together a deck inspired by this one, but replaced one spellslinger, Brann, ancient mage and Emperor T with two Blizzards and two Frost Novas. This was working on the basis that I really want to be able to drop Yogg, win or lose so having some ways to stall the game as long as possible while I wait to draw Yogg seemed like a reasonable approach.
I've only played a few games in casual so far, but it actually seems pretty effective, particularly against the slow C'Thun decks. I suspect that ladder will be a different story, but as long as it's fun I really don't mind losing too much.
So I have one issue, and it's with yogg, not the deck. Not sure if it's a bug per se, but here's what's happening to me. I'll pop out yogg with low HP, and he'll cast sprint or some other draw spell, and I die and the game ends immediately. OK, not a big deal, probably what should happen. However, the inverse isn't true. What's happening for me is he'll play one or even multiple spells that result in the enemy dying, but he'll keep going through the entirety of his effect, rather than stopping like it does when I self destruct. Meaning it can result in a draw instead of a win. And that's kind of a bummer.
Any replace for bran and ancient mage? i've played a lot with this deck, and they are very bad.
Нет
for brann replacement, i'd go with 2nd ancient mage. for ancient mage, i think brann does good work in it's place.
wowee!
To my surprise, I am doing extraordinary well with this deck. I've won 6 out of my 7 games so far. I highly doubt it will do that well above rank 10, but if you have yogg, or have enough dust and just want a fun deck, definitely try this out. I average about 10-15 spells by yogg time, if I haven't won by turn 10.
I don't recall what I dropped exactly, but added the new mukla (2 bananas = 2 more spells + 5/5 body), and 2 scarab for some random 3 drops. Both have great synergy with bran!
Really great play to deck with. Had so much fun with it and Yogg's RNG.
