Hi, this is MarkW, a Hong Kong player in EU server.
I've been playing this since s22 (EU) and it's been unexpectedly effective and fun, so enjoy lads.

Check the SPOILER, STANDARD VERSION NOW OUT.
THE STANDARD VERSION OF THIS DECK WILL BE OUT SOON...
A couple week back, I thought of the idea of a Taunt Warrior, and as you do, I looked up in Hearthpwn. As I found nothing (at the time), I figured that it's time for me to make a deck, and for myself and our beloved hearthpwn community.
The original idea is to try out Sparring Partner,Bolster and Fierce Monkey, especially, with Mr. Sparring, his appearance on the meta is close to non-existent.
As I brought this deck to the fury of the ladder, there were complications as I was overly focused on the Taunt idea, this current deck is brought to you largely by trial-and-error.
I was very close to legend s22, but finally I managed to make it there this time. This deck is the nightmare of many meta decks, you essentially build up this great wall of China, but made immortal with Mr. Kel.
Here's the explanation for a couple of unusual cards:
Sparring Partner,Bolster and Fierce Monkey
As I explained earlier, these are the cornerstone cards for this deck. Fierce Monkey is a pretty good 3 drop, especially for warrior.
Sparring Partner and Bolster, for the taunt theme, and establishing a board filled with buffed up taunts.
Armorsmith x2
Now you might say this is an obvious one, but no. With this deck, I only ran 1 and I found myself through a lot of trouble. You'll need to generate a fair amount of armor, but with Taunts in the way, this works magically in your favor.
Why Obsidian Destroyer not Dr. Boom?
Obsidian Destroyer provides good combo and value (Only in this deck). Its 1/1 taunt has great synergy with Bolster and enables a small but effective bulwark against large minions. The 7/7 body invites immediacy for removal, just like Boom but only that you can't run something into it without going through the taunts. If he manages to live more than one round, (let's be brutally honest here, he's not going to live more than 1 round, otherwise you've essentially won.) you'll be able to stack up your board for more control... (To be continued)
Sparring Partner + The Black Knight Combo
This essentially guarantees the death of a particular minion, Taunt it up with Sparring Partner and kill it with The Black Knight. 8-Mana Combo.
Varian Wrynn provides an incredible tempo swing, pulling out 2-3 Taunts on the Battlefield can save your life. I understand the concern with pulling out Battlecry minions but there aren't that many.. (Especially many Low-cost Battlecry minions were previously played, by the time you put out Varian Wrynn, the probability of you getting a Sparring Partner is rather low.)
Let me quickly round it up, I've got things to do and fish to fry...
I've still got a lot to explain, especially with Kodorider
Kodorider and its spawns cannot be killed by big AOE spells, such as Lightbomb, Flamestrike, Consecration, Holy Nova and so on. They can also be easily Taunted up as well, by for example a Defender of Argus
Card Replacements:
Varian Wrynn: Arch-Thief Rafaam
Kodorider: Sylvanas Windrunner, Piloted Sky Golem
Elise Starseeker: A difficult card to replace this one, since it's ability is rather unique. Maybe for a Sen'jin Shieldmasta?
The Black Knight: Sylvanas Windrunner
Kel'Thuzad: Grommash Hellscream
Alternative:
I'm trying Brawl -1, Arcane Nullifier X-21 -2, Defender of Argus -1, Acolyte of Pain +1, Annoy-o-Tron +2, Bolster +1... I'm only at experimental stage with this change, if it turns out to be effective, I'll make these changes. (I'm rather skeptical of losing my only Brawl.)
Hogger was mentioned a couple of times, I see what everyone meant by using him, and feel free to try him out. The problem withHogger is, since he's a 4/4 and spawns 2/2s, this can be easily killed byFlamestrike orLightbomb. In combination with the problem that a 4/4 body is very easy to deal with. Regardless of my opinion, I do think he could be a viable replacement ofKodorider.

So Varian is a core card? I thought you said he can be replaced.
What if you don't have him? What card can someone use to replace him?
I'm not the creator of this deck, I was just replying based on my own experience with the deck. I think he's pretty crucial yes, you could try swapping with grommash but varian is a massive tempo swing, usually bring at least 1 (more often than not 2-3) taunt minions onto the board.
You're right, Varian Wrynn is very useful, and in some ways essential. If you don't have him, grommash should do as a nice finisher, but do bear in mind that he doesn't have much synergy with the rest of the deck.
I do have to say, Arch-Thief Rafaam would be my top recommendation for replacement.
Thanks for the kind comment.
WIll this deck work without TBK and wrynn?
TBK is only used for dealing with big threats, or setting up a combo by taunting an enemy minion up with Sparring Parner and killing it.
As in Wrynn, you don't necessarily need it, but it's a nice 10 drop, turning into your favour. You can replace it with other heavy hitters as a game-changer/finisher
It should work, but won't be as effective.
