Thanks all for liking this deck, I will make a full guide later. But will make a mulligan guide now.
Made it to legend in S21 with this deck, will add proof later toda.
General mulligan is pretty easy:
Hunter:
Since facehunter is almost gone now, the hunters out there are midrange, so keep:
Mortal Coil,Zombie Chow, Reno Jackson, Dark Peddler
Hunter is pretty favorable matchup, since you will always have more card than the opponent, and will out value him after turn 6 where you may need to play Reno.
Shaman:
Shaman is the new cancer hero deck.
Mulligan for Zombie Chow,Ironbeak Owl, Dark Peddler, Deathlord, and all kinds of heal. It's essential to know when to play Reno, or other kinds of heal, since Shaman is capable of dealing 18-ish in one turn. Be aware of the Doomhammer and rockbiter combo.
Mage:
Mage is very preferable match up. Have boardcontrol, and mulligan for:
Zombie Chow, Mortal Coil, Dark Peddler, Ironbeak Owl If you are playing against a freeze mage, be aggressive. Have minions on the board and kill or silence that Doomsayer. Always save heal to after the Alexstraza turn from your opponent. Try to pop him fast.
If it is Tempo mage, mulligan for the same card, and kill those wakers.
Druid:
Druid is annoying, probably the worst matchup against renolock, if it is aggro druid, Mulligan for AoE and Big Game Hunter.
Is it standard druid, try to out value him, have board control and always be out of combo range.
Priest:
Priest can be easy match up, can be a real son-of-a-gun. Depends if you can keep board control or not. Try to fish out Entomb with the use of some half-decent legendaries like Elise Starseeker or Brann Bronzebeard. Mulligan for early minions and try to stabilize early board control.
Paladin:
Have probably 70% win rate against paladin, let them use those Keeper of Uldaman and Aldor Peacekeeper on cards you want them to use them on. Then play the big boys like Arch-Thief Rafaam and Dr. Boom as you want to. Mulligan for Zombie Chow, Ironbeak Owl, Mortal Coil and Dark Peddler.
Warlock:
Against zoo, justmulligan for early minions, taunts, and Hellfire, and try to have board control.
Renolock is 50/50. They don't expect Arch-Thief Rafaam, so use that card wisely. save acidic Ooze for Lord Jarxxus, and be smart. Play around Twisting Neither
Warrior:
Warrior is an "easy" matchup. Keep Hellfire against Patron, and use Lord Jaraxxus early against Control Warrior. CW hate Jaraxxus.
Summary:
There are a lot of Brann Bronzebeard combos here, use them visely. Think about what the opponent are going to play, think a couple of steps a head, and be smart. Mulligan for early AoE, and Deathlord if you think the opponent are going to play aggro, and lots of minions (zoo, secret pala, mech mage), if not, play early minions, and gain board control.
If you want to replace cards, you can trade Elise Starseeker for either Refreshment Vendor or Piloted Shredder, or even Earthen Ring Farseer (It comboes nice with Brann.
There are so many aggro decks out in my meta right now, so I subbed Arch-Thief Rafaam with Baron Geddon, I stilll have to play 50 - 100 + games to see if it is viable, but Arch-Thief Rafaam is not as good as I hoped for.
Hope you guys like the deck, and if there should be any questions, feel free to ask. I will answer them as fast as possible.
Cheers
Any replacements for Baron Geddon? That's the only card I don't have.
Monkey gave me Tinkmaster who turned the opponent's Thaddius in a Squirrel. In the same game i played Bran with MC Tech and stole Boom and one of his bots. I need a shower.
Hahaha! Awesome!
You should definitely not sub Harrison for Loatheb. Harrison isn't good in Handlock decks, you really don't Need the extra draw because of your hero power. It just brings you to Fatigue even faster and you often find yourself with 9 or even 10 cards in Hand turn 5 so you can't even play Harrison without overdrawing. Do you really need 2 techs vs weapons?
You, my fine sir, are absolutely right. I have updated the game decklist now.
haha glad I could help.
I would suggest adding substitution options for harder to obtain cards like Molten Giant, Dr. Boom, Sylvanas Windrunner, Big Game Hunter and Lord Jaraxxus. Hell, why not try to replace some of the rares even? Everyone has a few handy rares they don't have.
People can ask for substitutions here, and I will try to help:)
Well, that's sort of what I'm currently doing. I have none of the cards I've named.
Aha.. Sorry for the misunderstanding. You can replace those cards with Stormwind Champion, Ragnaros, Mountain Giant, Twisting Nether and another big minion or good legendary that you have. But a legendary-heavy deck without Dr.Boom is not optimal. You should craft Dr.Boom asap, since he is found in almost every deck.
Sen'jin Shieldmasta is also a good option if you are facing a lot of aggro.
Baron Geddon has also been tested in this deck, if you feel that you need more board clears against aggro
I've never been able to craft a single Epic, let alone a Legendary. (Wherever do people find that much dust?) Thanks for the Mountain Giant though, I've had this card for a long time, and it looks like it might be useful.
If you are new to the game, and you want to play one deck, you should disenchant the cards that are surplus, so you can craft the cards that are needed to play the deck. You can also play alot of arena and do the daily quests to get cards that are needed.
Great deck! Never commented on a deck before but this was a lot of fun! I'm missing jaraxxus but I got a youthful brewer to replace him with.. Played 5 games so far, 2 against other renolocks with different build and I've won every game so easy.. :) Thanks mate and great work!
Thank you. Appreciate the kind words, glad you like it:)
Shitty deck.. Sorry 9/10 decks posted on here are useless when playing ranked..
Seriously? I'm rank 3 at the moment with this deck. Maybe it's not the deck....
I'm curious why ooze over Harrison, I know ooze is 3 mana less, but still there's really not alot of situations where your dropping an ooze on turn 2. I feel like Harrison Jones would be much better than [card]Acidic Swamp Ooze[/card] in this deck, mainly because of the huge draw potential you can grab from jones, that extra cycling is worth it alone imo.
A big thing about ooze is that it's more versatile compared to Harrison. In a tournament setting if you know a lot of weapons classes (warrior/pally) will be in it you will tech ooze out for Harrison. But on ladder ooze is much better because you'll be running into all kinds of things, making it a vanilla 3/2 at the worst.
But is the card cycle from Harrison, not make it superior to ooze? ( Not sure what you mean by versatile), Overall though this deck is sick, Had a game where the opponent was 4 hp off lethal with a full board, drew a golden monkey into acidmaw/dreadscale wiped his board completely and won the game from 2 hp to 30hp lmao.
Haha, glad you like the deck. The reason I run Acidic Swamp Ooze over Harrison Jones is that from statistics, you will draw an average of 1 point something card from Harrison. It is also a 5 mana card, which make it easier to run at least two minions at once if you play ooze, which will gain board control as well. And I have never had the problem with lack of cards, but if you want to run Harrison over ooze, feel free to try it out :)
Deathsbite will draw you one card
Truesilver will most likely draw you one card
Doomhammer will draw 6 cards, but then you will most likely burn some cards.
Gorehowl is one card
And the other 2 -3 weapons will draw you 2 - 3 cards, but is it worth using Harrison on a lights justice with 1/3 stats, when you know the opponent has a Truesilver in his hand?
Harrison is very good if the opponent doesn't attack, and you get 2 cards from Truesilver and Deathsbite.
