Thanks all for liking this deck, I will make a full guide later. But will make a mulligan guide now.
Made it to legend in S21 with this deck, will add proof later toda.
General mulligan is pretty easy:
Hunter:
Since facehunter is almost gone now, the hunters out there are midrange, so keep:
Mortal Coil,Zombie Chow, Reno Jackson, Dark Peddler
Hunter is pretty favorable matchup, since you will always have more card than the opponent, and will out value him after turn 6 where you may need to play Reno.
Shaman:
Shaman is the new cancer hero deck.
Mulligan for Zombie Chow,Ironbeak Owl, Dark Peddler, Deathlord, and all kinds of heal. It's essential to know when to play Reno, or other kinds of heal, since Shaman is capable of dealing 18-ish in one turn. Be aware of the Doomhammer and rockbiter combo.
Mage:
Mage is very preferable match up. Have boardcontrol, and mulligan for:
Zombie Chow, Mortal Coil, Dark Peddler, Ironbeak Owl If you are playing against a freeze mage, be aggressive. Have minions on the board and kill or silence that Doomsayer. Always save heal to after the Alexstraza turn from your opponent. Try to pop him fast.
If it is Tempo mage, mulligan for the same card, and kill those wakers.
Druid:
Druid is annoying, probably the worst matchup against renolock, if it is aggro druid, Mulligan for AoE and Big Game Hunter.
Is it standard druid, try to out value him, have board control and always be out of combo range.
Priest:
Priest can be easy match up, can be a real son-of-a-gun. Depends if you can keep board control or not. Try to fish out Entomb with the use of some half-decent legendaries like Elise Starseeker or Brann Bronzebeard. Mulligan for early minions and try to stabilize early board control.
Paladin:
Have probably 70% win rate against paladin, let them use those Keeper of Uldaman and Aldor Peacekeeper on cards you want them to use them on. Then play the big boys like Arch-Thief Rafaam and Dr. Boom as you want to. Mulligan for Zombie Chow, Ironbeak Owl, Mortal Coil and Dark Peddler.
Warlock:
Against zoo, justmulligan for early minions, taunts, and Hellfire, and try to have board control.
Renolock is 50/50. They don't expect Arch-Thief Rafaam, so use that card wisely. save acidic Ooze for Lord Jarxxus, and be smart. Play around Twisting Neither
Warrior:
Warrior is an "easy" matchup. Keep Hellfire against Patron, and use Lord Jaraxxus early against Control Warrior. CW hate Jaraxxus.
Summary:
There are a lot of Brann Bronzebeard combos here, use them visely. Think about what the opponent are going to play, think a couple of steps a head, and be smart. Mulligan for early AoE, and Deathlord if you think the opponent are going to play aggro, and lots of minions (zoo, secret pala, mech mage), if not, play early minions, and gain board control.
If you want to replace cards, you can trade Elise Starseeker for either Refreshment Vendor or Piloted Shredder, or even Earthen Ring Farseer (It comboes nice with Brann.
There are so many aggro decks out in my meta right now, so I subbed Arch-Thief Rafaam with Baron Geddon, I stilll have to play 50 - 100 + games to see if it is viable, but Arch-Thief Rafaam is not as good as I hoped for.
Hope you guys like the deck, and if there should be any questions, feel free to ask. I will answer them as fast as possible.
Cheers
What I meant by versatile is that it's not bad in the non weapon matchups like how Harrison is.
And as I mentioned, Harrison is superior in a guaranteed weapon's matchup, but ladder is just not consistent enough.
I use ancient watcher in my Reno deck, as I find it to be an excellent unit. Not only is it a great setup for shadowflame, but many times people do everything they can to get rid of it, even if I don't have a taunt handy.
I actually used it for a while, and is a good option. But I'm facing alot of aggro decks at the moment, and I think that Sunfury Protector is a slow card, and think it is much more difficult for the opponent to go through a 2/8 body with taunt than two taunts with 2/1 or 2/3 bodies. I also think thatSunfury Protector is good if you draw Twilight Drake, while Deathlord don't need any other card, and since you will only run 1 of every card in this deck, it is much safer to run Deathlord.
At least just make a mulligan guide...
Hope this helps:)
how about replace Elise Starseeker with Ragnaros the Firelord
The thing I like about this deck is that there is very little RNG, you will have to predict every single move, but Elise Starseeker is one of the few cards that can be replaced, if you want to play Ragnaros the Firelord, you do that. but I have played this deck over 200 games, and never missed him, due to all the other large minions.
Hope this helps:)
Your list looks cool, I think I'll try it over demon zoo, 40 wins from golden lock so hopefully I'll ride it with that and maybe legend again. Thanks again for the deck man.
Congratulations with soon-to-be a Golden Warlock player, let me know if you can make it to legend:)
Took me some games to get comfortable with your deck but now it rocks and is so much fun. It often feels like you have an answer to everything they throw at you.
Killing Tirion and then playing the Ooze is amazing and somehow i always have Reno in my Hand :-D
As i was typing this i ruined my own winningstreak I played Brann into Elise and 1 turn later Reno.. fml :D
Haha. Yeah it takes some games to get comfortable with the deck, but as you said, It has an answer to almost everything. Elise is not a must in this deck, as I replaced refreshment vendor for Elise yesterday and haven't played the card enough times to say it important. So if you want to replace Elise with shredder or heal it is completely fine.
Nah Elise is awesome it was just a dumb play i didn't think through. And the monkey is just hilarious. In a mirror matchup he nearly won me the game. He gave me Iron Juggernaut and my Opponent was already in Fatigue so the bomb left him with 1 HP. He played Reno after that tho and had a Taddius and Molten Giant on board. Was a sick game tho.
It is pretty good. Think Stalagg and Feugen is okey-ish cards... I personally prefer Rafaam and deathlord over those other two.
Looks pretty fun
