Hey guys Sigma here and today I want to present you something special, the first deck in the "Sigma Features" series! This is something that I will start doing occasionally from now on for decks that I trully believe are something different and have a lot of potential! And who's deck first to feature but one from my girlfriend, RainbowBunny!
RainbowBunny is getting into high ranks with the decks that she creates on her own! She is just about to start streaming on her own and you can find her on www.twitch.tv/RainbowBunnyy ! If you have any questions about this deck you can contact her on the EU server, RainbowBunny#2792 or via Twitch Private Messages!
YOUTUBE VIDEO COMING SOON!
If the deck reaches 50 upvotes, I will write out one of the SigGuides for it, which will probably be even more detailed than ever! The only reason that I am setting up this goal is to motivate you guys motivate me motivate you (motivating x ∞) and to know that you guys like the deck enough for me to write out details for the gameplay! Until the goal has been reached, I will write out "trial" versions of the three guide parts I find most important.
Mulligan:
The mulligan here divides into control and aggro depending which one you are facing:
Aggro: Aggresive search for Faerie Dragon, Shielded Minibot, Coghammer, Twilight Guardian, Consecration, Noble Sacrifice. (See Exceptions).
Control: Faerie Dragon, Shielded Minibot, Avenge, Redemption, Coghammer. (See Exceptions).
Exceptions:
Consecration/Noble Sacrifice: Keep mostly if the opponent is a hunter. Or a very aggresive deck.
Big Game Hunter/Aldor Peacekeeper: Keep if you are playing against a deck you are most likely to expect big minions, early, like Warlock (Mountain Giant on turn 4) and Druid (Fel Reaver on turn 1/3/4).
Overall strategy:
For this short strategy guide I will just divide the gameplay into three sections, early, mid and late game and try to illustrate them to you and to explain what you should look out for to play.
In the Early game, you are as already said agressively searching for shielded minibots or fairy dragons, which you combine with Avenge or Redemption. It' s a necessity for you to take control of the board early on, so a Coghammer on turn 3 is highly wanted!
Mid game depends on what you're facing. Against aggro you're playing Twilight Guardians or Belcher so that you can keep or regain control of the board. Against control you're searching for Equality + Concecration combo to clear a strong board or a minion with a solid amount of both HP and attack (Mysterious Challenger, Dragon Consort).
Late game is where the big boys (and girls) come into play. Chillmaw and Ysera, being the only girls of the pack should serve as synergy activators during the game and being used in the end game, preferrably when your opponent wasted all of his big removals (Hex, Fireball...). Tirion Fordring is also there to secure the board control, lending you his trusty Ashbringer after he gets removed and also Lay on Hands which is usually a game finisher against aggro decks.
Dream plays:
Turn 1 Coin + Shielded Minibot, Turn 2 Shielded Minibot/Faerie Dragon, Turn 3 Redemption/Avenge + Shielded Minibot/Faerie Dragon/Hero Power.
Without Coin: Turn 1 Avenge/Redemption, Turn 2 Shielded Minibot/Faerie Dragon, Turn 3 Coghammer.
Card Replacements:
Coghammer -> 2nd Truesilver Champion
Lay on Hands -> Antique Healbot
Big Game Hunter -> 2nd Aldor Peacekeeper
Blackwing Corruptor -> Antique Healbot
Chillmaw -> Sludge Belcher/Chromaggus/Baron Geddon
Ysera -> Nefarian/Chromaggus
Tirion Fordring ->Sludge Belcher
Twilight Guardian /Mysterious Challenger –> Cant be replaced, craft.
NOTE: This deck has been solely made up, tested and refined through last 3 seasons by RainbowBunny and is therefore not a copy of anyone else. With this being said, any comment from here on out who will be in the fashion of calling this a copy will either be ignored or deleted by the admin of the page. Thank you for understanding.
Thank you for checking the deck out and if you have any questions or suggestions (as the deck is still in construction)you can also post them in the comments below!
how about blackwing technician? i think it good for midgame and i see most people use zomble chow instant of faerie dragon
Thank you very much for your comment! :)
I was thinking about the Zombie Chow as well but I decided to go with the Faerie Dragon because of the dragon synergy. I will work on the deck now again after the new adventure is out, because I want to implement some of the new cards, so I will consider putting in aBlackwing Technician as well, even though when I created the deck I decided to not have any because I actually needed the space for some other cards. :)
i ll wait for your update thank you :)
i think Blackwing Technician is very good for dragon deck strong drop3 with 3/5
Very good and interesting deck!
Hey hey! I like that you're featuring another player that's really awesome of you Sigma :D ! I know I've done deck spotlights of your other decks but not like this XD ! Glad to see people helping others with exposure! You know what I'm here for sooooooooo ENJOY THE VID :D !
I've been trying this deck at around Ranks 7/8. Since I didn't have Chillmaw, I am using Dr. Boom instead and he's always useful as long as he doesn't get killed by Big Game Hunter (which almost all the players I faced had).
So far, I haven't managed to break into Rank 6 and beyond, but I'm just hovering at 7/8. I am having the most trouble against aggro, and it's usually because I fail to get Shielded Minibot and Faerie Dragon during mulligan. The Twilight Guardians keep getting silenced almost always, and the game is gone before I can get utilise the value of Mysterious Challenger. I may be playing this deck wrongly, so I'm looking forward to the YouTube videos so that I can learn how to play the deck properly!
Whenever I do reach late game against aggro, Tirion Fordring, Lay on Hands and Ysera have been securing the win and it just feels very satisfying that I didn't die to a druid in 1 turn.
I'll continue playing this deck in the meantime. Looking forward to more updates! :)
Thank you very much for your comment, Telcu! :))
I would recommend you to remove the Competitive Spirit and to put Antique Healbot and instead of Dr. Boom to put either a second Blackwing Corrupter or a Sludge Belcher since you're having problems with aggro decks. :)
I hope my comment helped you, if not we will post the video very soon, so stay tuned! :)
looks great...will try it 2morow :)
greetings sigma :)
I have some worries and questions about this deck, but if you say it works I belive you! I am sceptical on purely excperience with other paladin decks so I might just have to keep quiet :P
When evryone was trying dragon paladin around black rock mountain a conclusion was that you couldnt fit all the good paladin cards along with the dragons, making it subuptimal to "force" the dragon synergi. I guess Twilight Guardian is a good incentive a return of dragon decks. Here you have to fit secrets and secret synergy cards as well? No room for Muster for Battle nor Shredder the arguable best 3 and 4 drops in the game? I see that T.G. can take his place, but I dont see how Coghammer is more efficiant than Muster. Lack of muster naturaly leads to lack of Quartermaster witch is another important powerspike in slower paladin decks imo. Also no Dr. Boom, nice to duck under BGH? But BGH will still trigger on 6 attack minions after Competitive Spirit/Avenge, so i think its sad to skip that threat awell. How good is Chillmaw in this deck btw?
Krisspear, thank you for the comment! :)
I also tried the dragon paladin when the BRM came out and it wasn't that bad, of course it wasn't what we all expected. I like the Twilight Guardian as a card, it's a very stable 4-cost play (3/6 taunt and it's a dragon). As forMuster for Battle, I personally don't find it that neccesary of a card, indeed a needed card for control paladins or the normal secret paladins because of the combos with the secrets or the Quartermaster. The Piloted Shredder is an OP minion indeed, I was wondering about it but after trying out the deck I figured it's not missing. I really like the Coghammer in the deck, it's a really good 3-drop, especially if you have a minion on the board or against aggro or even to combine it with mid or late game minions for amazing trades (Mysterious Challenger with Divine Shield into Dr. Boom ftw). Quartermasteris a too situational card for my likings, you might not have any recruits on turn 5 to combine with the Quartermaster and let's be honest the players learned that they have to clear out the recruits, so the Quartermaster became really situational and it will probably be stuck in your hand for much longer than I could afford. When it comes toDr. Boom, I don't really know what to say, he is OP, he should be in every deck :D but unfortunately I don't have enough space for all of the cards that would be good, the reason he is not in the deck is simply because he is lacking synergy with the dragons, but being off the BGH radar kind of feels good too, as they are back now with the influx of all of the Fel Reavers. And at last Chillmaw is a card that is still on a trial period in the deck, it's been proven to be good but also useless some games, so it might be changed. Against control is very good, against aggro so-so especially if you had a bad beginning.
I am sorry for the long post, I hope I managed to clarify some things! :) If not, be on the lookout for my stream which is starting tomorrow and you can ask me live! :)
I dig up the paladin thread to find a deck that doesn't contain the Knife Juggler (I hate that card and I don't play it in any deck!) and I found your dragon secret deck, I am testing it. Good so far. Thank you!
Thank you very much for the comment!
I actually like the Knife Juggler :D but unfortunately it didn't have place in my deck. Now with the new adventure out I will be improving the deck so that it fits the meta better, so check in from time to time for some changes :)
