Hey guys !
This is my Malylock deck, working pretty well so far ! Legend proof : http://imgur.com/gxQ1Cyh
Matchups & Mulligans :
VS aggro decks :
You need to have your best early cards to win. Zombie Chow, Dark Peddler are key cards in these matchups.
An Ironbeak Owl can be also kept to deal with the early pressure vs like secret Paladin and Hunter.
Best start : Zombie Chow (T1)
Peddler (T2)
life tap into Peddler's one drop (T3)
VS control decks :
mulligan for : Zombie Chow, Dark Peddler, Twilight Drake
If you manage to keep a board, it is almost always a win.
Your late game is not so strong if you can't get a good Emperor Thaurissan (which means reducing Malygos and Darkbomb/Soulfire or Darkbomb&Soulfire. With this, you will be able to do your 17 damage combo with 10 mana.
Sometimes you will have to use your Soulfire and both Darkbomb, but you can win with your good creatures or sometimes a Malygos+Hellfire combo.
Remarks :
Abusive Sergeant is used for Big Game Hunter combo (on Tirion, Emperor, Loatheb, ...). It can save you sometimes !
You really need to draw one Big Game Hunter. If you cannot deal with Dr. Boom, Mountain Giant, Alexstrasza or cards like this, you will loose. Moreover, you will be able to kill Mysterious Challenger after Avenge or Competitive Spirit
Don't hesitate to ask some questions, I'll try to answer them quickly ! ;)

how do you win with this deck? i use all my damage spells trying to stay alive until turn 10. taunts usually get wrecked
You're playing it wrong then, honestly. I'm 4-1 with this deck and I NEVER play warlock. Only loss was to a freeze Mage and I got him to 1hp until he pulled antonidas and a bunch of 1 mana spells that he was holding the whole game.
Guys what are your thoughts about Siphon Soul? I find it kinda slow and would replace it with some 3-drop, like Earthen Ring Farseer or Blackwing Technician.
Edit: I've been playing a little variation of this deck for like a month now. Do any of you feel that tempo mages are almost impossible to beat? Tonight I've lost like 3 ranks because most of my enemies have been them. Facehunters aren't even so bad as those. Flamewanker is just so hard to deal with and it just destroys my board entirely. Dragon priests are extremely hard matches too.
My deck has
-1x Hellfire -> +1x Shadowflame
-2x Sludge Belcher -> +2x Imp-losion
-1x Big Game Hunter / -1x Ironbeak Owl -> 2x Zombie Chow
-1x Siphon Soul -> +1x Earthen Ring Farseer
Druids feel also very hard for me. That cancerous FoN + Savage Roar is just too much. And shades are impossible to deal with if I don't draw Hellfire or Shadowflame early on.
I just love this deck but it feels somehow so weak in the current meta. I'm not claiming it is, might be that I just can't play it.
I got to rank 5 quite easily with it, but now I'm just totally stuck around rank 10.
Edit 2: Feels like another Hellfire is better in the current meta. It doesn't require any board presence and is generally better early on and even can set up lethal damage for the next turn.
Now I'm wondering is the second BGH really worth it? It could rekt MC @ turn 7. Will see. Next I'm going to craft Chillmaw and try it out.
Opened Maly just recently so I put this deck together. Ended last season at rank 2, so I started at R16 and I've played this deck exclusively since then. Currently at R9. My changes: -1 BGH -1 Hellfire -1 Belcher
+1 Blackwing Tech (I win most games when I've got a T3 drop.)
+1 Shadowflame (I've won several games where a Hellfire was either too risky or wouldn't do enough damage.)
+1 Chillmaw (Duh.)
Anyhow, this is the most balanced version of Maly lock I've seen and am enjoying it. Thanks.
Hello Emixa, awesome guide, not many people even remember about malylock (Kibler doesn't even play it on his stream :P) so showing that it is possible to get legend with malylock is a pretty big achievement. I am also a big fan of malygos warlock(been playing the deck ever since BRM came out) and I've been sort of innovating for the current meta. But the problem is that previous months I've reached high legend points with this deck, and because of the sheer versatility and fun, I've been glued to this deck. However with all the dumb cancer decks(secret pally, aggro druid, and face hunter) being 90% of rank 5 through rank 1 I've lost my taste in HS and everytime I do try to grind to legend it is very frustrating because of how stale it is. However this Hearthpwn post gave me hope(unlike the new expansion coming out) and made me think if I should try again. So all I'm asking is to look at my differences between your deck and mine. Other maylgos players(although there's not that many) can criticize too.
-2 bgh's and -1 abusive sergeant
+1 earthen ring far seer +1 swamp ooze +1 zombie chow
Reason being is because I almost never use the combo wombo, and it is very insane if you can pull it off. However judging the meta, the bgh effect isn't really needed except for MC, but most off the time without any early game I kinda just get ran over.
-1 owl -1 azure drake
+2 implosions
In this meta I think that 1 silence is enough for things like MC, secretkeeper, leper gnome/knife juggler, etc. And often times the stats of the azure drake just makes me fall so far behind. Implosion however is sometimes a huge temposwing (even if it doesn't roll a 4, a lot of midrange/early-game minions have 2-3 hp like shredder, darnassus aspirant, knife juggler, etc) that is needed for the fast metagame.
I do agree that the sludge belchers, siphon soul, and the hellfire instead of shadowflame are very good cards and is why I have them too, since belchers are very efficient in terms of hp(5 can be kinda hard to deal for druids/pallys) and the siphon soul can be a game winner in the rare control matchups and against things like MC and Dr. Balanced. Hellfire often times is a must against the fast tempo meta.
Idk if these tech choices are bad, or if the they are great, which is why I'm coming to you guys. Criticism is very much appreciated.
TY very much for the response. I totally forgot about Chillmaw and I'll try out another owl in ranked. =)
I can confirm. Chillmaw is amazing in this deck.
Yeah I tried it out, it boosted my winrate vs. overall aggro/tempo decks from 37% to 52% :)
I enjoy the deck very much (played ~15 matches low rank). 2 BGH seems excessive, but I'm sure that is totally up to your meta. I faced tons of priests and only saw Boom once. Never had a need for BGH and I always had one in hand. I'll tech out if I keep using the deck, but it is quite enjoyable.
why no dr boom?
and how about implosion?
Are two bgh's a must? If not, a good replacement?
Thanks so much for the deck share! This deck is doing really well for me on ladder right now I had some crazy epic games with this deck too! Here's some gameplay if you want to see a SUPER insane game check out the last game in this vid for sure ;P ! ENJOY YOH!!!
Haha yeah someone else told me that on my YouTube I was just like DANG IT!!! :O ! Oh wells still crazy games though right yoh :p ? !
Khristopher, I really want you to know that I really like your video posted as comments of deck cuz they help me understanding the decks.
Thank You :)
@darvit98 Hey! Awesome that's what I'm here for it's nice to see that I can actually help people with Hearthstone :D ! Means a lot to me yoh!
Played dragon priest vs this exact deck list. Seems like a decent deck but dragon priest beats it hard. I didn't drop below 25 health. This deck is rather annoying though as light bomb doesn't kill a lot of things in this deck in a single use. Seemed like even with the countless taunts on the field though that this deck still seemed underwhelming.
Hopefully I run into it while using Control Warrior so I can see how it goes. Doesn't seem like a terrible deck though.
I actually kinda like dragon priest vs this deck, as it most of the time is a tempo/control matchup. There are cards like Velen's Chosen that can just run over you, but same goes for the warlock(things like Implosion can be very). However, things like Twilight Drakes and the warlock hero power itself can give you so much control and resources, that for me it lasts to be a long, fatigue chess match. Things like keeping track of priest removal and buffs, his answer for your minions, and your answer to their minions can make the game often times to a skill matchup and what tech cards the priest has. Some people only run 1 cabal+shrinkmeister combo, but those who run 2 have a significant lead in the matchup. You also have to time the emperor turn correctly(think whether you have enough cards in your hand, if the OTK will be your win condition instead of board control, etc.). The same things also apply to control warrior(however you need to be more decisive about your minion count and whether he can just win off an insane brawl.)
Matchups like these can be very fun and skillful, and so if you are just trying out the deck, this advice may help.
In the current meta 2x BGH is unnecessary. I also have 2x implosion and 1x chow. And I think that argus might be changed to belcher.
Has anyone ever tried Wilfred Fizzlebang in this deck? Only played 2 games so far havent drawn him yet to test.
For shits and giggle i did try -1 thaurissan for +1 Fizzlebang. It is really hard to get him to work. First off Fizzlebang is more of a 8 drop. The opponent takes drastic measures to kill Fizzlebang. And by turn 8 dealing 4 damage is pretty easy (dealing 5 damage is much harder, and emperor might have stuck on broad better). And it takes too much setting up to try and keep Fizzlebang alive. I had one game where I did draw our friend Dirty Maly (Malagos) from Fizzlebang on turn 8.
The next turn was a spectacular, Double Darkbomb, and one Soulfire.
Overall too inconsistent doesn't do enough to justify keeping him in the deck. But it was a blast. i guess you can also try it for shits and giggles
