Hi Guys Ilmister here,
I am experimenting a lot with different versions of Control Shaman in standard (I tried reliquary of souls, dragon, big spell shamans and others) and this one I just made looks like the best alchemy I could find and is working wonderfully in ladder because the deck generates a lot of value while being less RNG than other archetypes.
The best thing of the deck is that you will almost never lose against Priest, which is the most used class right now. There are other favorable match ups like against Spell Druid. The most struggling games will be against aggro Hunter and DH, with rogues and mages we have 50% of possibilities.
Corrupt the Waters plus cards like Swampqueen Hagatha generates a lot of value.
With Dragonqueen Alexstrasza you can keep the dragons in your hand to double their Battlecry next turn (dragons often have battlecries, like in Skyrim).
Or better you can play Barista Lynchen the turn after to generate billions of bitmana that will make you rich for the rest of the match.
Galakrond is useful for his battlecry cards (included himself!) and to keep the board under control.
I will be playing the deck, maybe we can find a way to make it even stronger!
Some juicy combos:
-Being Galakrond with Heart of Vir'naal: Double the Battlecry of Kronx for 10 damage aoe, or summon two 8/8 dragons with taunt, or deal 10 damage to the opponent's face and heal 10 LP to your hero, and of course every mix that can be useful in a particular situation (most commonly I use it to clear the board and summon a 8/8 dragon). Combo PowerLevel: over ten thousand!
-Having Heart of Vir'naal with Galakrond Third Form in your hand: Double the Battlecry of Galakrond to summon four 8/8 elementals with rush. Combo PowerLevel: very high
-Double the Battlecry of Swampqueen Hagatha, cross your finger for a Lava Burst or Bloodlust or both. Next turn double the battlecry of the Horror for a probable OTK. If your opponent is full health, maybe you can choose to double Eye of the Storm for summoning six 5/6 elementals with taunt. Hower you can make two Horrors so you can have a defensive and a offensive one and keep both in your hand for the right circumstance. Combo PowerLevel: 37
How to win the lottery:
-Play EVIL Cable Rat or Sludge Slurper, get Draconic Lackey, Play it and Discover Dragonqueen Alexstrasza. Play it and get a Emerald Explorer. Use it and Discover Dragonqueen Alexstrasza. You are rich now.
Update 09/05/2020: -1 Siamat +1 Lightning Storm for more curve power
Update 12/05/2020: I reached Diamond very easily, the WR is over seven billion%!!!
Update 16/05/2020: Blizz is going to buff The Lurker Below and Torrent, we are going to get even more powerful!!!
Update 18/05/2020: Reached D5. The Lurker Below can bew now played more easily -you can use him to trade only one minion- since will be more harder to trade him now. Torrent at 4 mana helps a lot as well!!
Update 22/05/2020: I am still floating between d4 and d3
Hopelessly crushed by rogue. I don't even get to finish the quest
Rogue is an hard match, but I think you had a really unlucky one... normally rogues are quite slow and give you the time for completing the quest... BTW you can manage to kill them sometimes playing more tempo than control, cause they can generate more value than us.
One option can be to make a Horror with Swampqueen Hagatha with two damage spells like Lava Burst and Serpentshrine Portal for 16 face damage or by filling a board when he has no answer in his hand like Flik Skyshiv or Kronx... I won some games baiting his Flik with Dragonqueen Alexstrasza or something like a revealed Eye of the Storm and when I was sure he had no Flik I filled the board massively like doubling the Galakrond Battlecry for summoning four 8/8 elementals or a double Horror Battlecry with Eye of the Storm or Dragon's Pack.
Can you use double Kronx? The only way to get the double battlecry is to have the corrupt the waters hero power - which means you're not Galakrond and Kronx just draws him from the deck (twice!). Unless you mean something else of course...
you can play Galakrond first and then complete the Quest. But thats rare and against aggressive decks its slow and inconsistent
Against aggressive decks we must mulligan for Witch's Brew and Low cost minions. Against Control Decks I keep Gala in opening hand when I get it. It's really important the value coming from the double Battlecry!!
Hello there!
I like this deck, but i think SwampQuenn hagatha is rly bad ,so maybe : - hagatha and + fist of ra-den. more effective and more value i think.
Also, im using Lady Vashj instead of Vulpera, its pretty good for the spell dmg and she can save you in many times.
The rest is fine i think, maybe card draw is a problem, but i dont know how to place a far sight or a mana tide totem.
I would change Marshspawn instead of Vulpera, cause the elemental has only a +1/+1 body but gives you spells only the turn after you played one and without the 4th choice that Vulpera offers you (that is often useful)
Great Deck, having a blast. An Earthen Ring Farseer could fit to have an additional heal but no idea what to replace since all cards have their place.
Thanks mate! I think Earthen Ring Farseer is a good card in this deck (you can see clearly from the picture on the card that Earthen Ring Farseer is a Shaman) but the deck doesn't lack of healing sources... You will see when you play it: There is Witch's Brew, Walking Fountain, there are ways to reveal an extra Witch's Brew, there is Zephrys, there's Kronx or double Kronx for 10 heal + 10 face damage, 5 armor coming from Galakrond...
