WELCOME!
It's time to steal. In this deck, you can see underused cards forging a strong deck. They say Tak Nozwhisker is terrible, so what? Trade Prince Gallywix is bad, really? Keep on reading if you want to see the beauty of Reno Thief Rogue, a deck which I love to play and became powerful thanks to RoS.
Update: It's sad to see Hearthpwn leave this tavern. Don't worry though, I transferred this deck to new tavern, and I hope to see you there.
HOW TO PLAY?
Game-plan is as easy as a pie: Mulligan hard for Cavern Shinyfinder followed by minions lower than four mana. When you start, play Swashburglar/Hallucination on turn 1, followed by Cavern Shinyfinder to fetch your twin-weapon or Underbelly Fence/Vendetta to stabilize your Tempo on turn 2. Then, continue with Blink Fox/Face Collector/Shaku to get far ahead of your opponent. This opening is by far the strongest.
On turn 4 and beyond, it's really up to your skills to upgrade your weapon well. If you use Vargoth with weapon-buff spells (Poison/Oil), that will be crazy. Aggro players will be surprised when you buff Spectral Cutlass that hard, followed by Reno because this weapon is the only duplicate. Thus, you will be immortal against Aggro players.
As for control decks, you will beat them easily. Play Trade Prince Gallywix when you are far ahead of board to press them hard for debate: Play a spell to save, or refuse and die. Then, there's Azalina, which will be more satisfying to "steal" their victory condition from, say, Exodia Mage. If all else fails, with one tick of Emperor Thaurissan, play Tak Nozwhisker+Academic Espionage combo to refill your hand.

OPTIONS...OPTIONS...
As for how to play against other decks and cards I didn't mention, you can check below:
- Pick Pocket: No matter what you face, keep it out during Mulligan Phase. This card will upgrade your weapon if executed well.
- Hallucination/Undercity Huckster: Keep them in all matches during Mulligan Phase.
- Goblin Auto-Barber/Cutthroat Buccaneer: Keep them away during Mulligan Phase. After you equip a weapon, they will be valuable.
- Poison/Oil: Keep them out during Mulligan Phase. After you equip a weapon, play them alongside Vargoth to boost your weapon twice.
- Ethereal Peddler/Emperor Thaurissan: They discount the cards you hold in-hand. Unfortunately, Ethereal Peddler can't discount Rogue cards when you are Rogue. However, if you get non-Rogue Hero card from Lotus Agents and play it, then you can discount them.
- Lotus Agents: With hidden changes, when you play him, he doesn't grant an extra durability or proc abilities of Vendetta/Underbelly Fence like he used to. Despite this change, he is still viable, and if you get non-Rogue Hero card, that's perfect, especially when you face Rogues.
- Archmage Vargoth: Most versatile card and fun to use in this deck. Versus Fatigue/Mill decks, play Academic Espionage on turn 8 to prevent fatigue hard. Use weapon-buff spells (Poison/Oil) to improve your weapon twice. Play Hallucination to steal twice. Even better, play Mimic Pod for a greater Sprint.
- Spectral Cutlass: Against Rogue players, you shouldn't focus on upgrading your weapon hard unless you find non-Rogue Hero card from Lotus Agents. Then, if you play the card, you can improve your weapon by playing every Rogue card you have.
Card alternatives down here:
- Preparation/Raiding Party: I'm sorry but I don't think these duo will ever work after nerfs. That's why I changed the deck, and it's far better now.
- Tak Nozwhisker: Grand Crusader
- Trade Prince Gallywix/Azalina Soulthief: Pilfer/Burgle
- Shaku/Face Collector: Stolen Steel/Tess Greymane
Have any questions? Feel free to ask, then I will give my answer in return. Please, test this deck just like me and support with +1 if you enjoyed it as it means a lot to me. Otherwise, have fun in Wild format!
Been playing your deck a lot in the last 2 days and I made a few changes to make it a lot stronger against meta decks, have a look :)

It's like you made out a Control Rogue list, pure one I can tell. Valeera, Plank, Zihi, Loatheb, Rat etc. Interesting to see that you swapped some Thief tools in favor of Control tools. Aside from upgrading your weapon hard, how did it perform? Either Casual or Ranked, I would like to hear your thoughts.
Playing this at legend, the control tools really help you WIN against quest mage, exodia mage, big priest, even shaman, shudderwock shaman. I have also felt that Pick Pocket and Face collector are too much value for this deck, your hand is always at 7-10 cards and you just don't have room for so much stuff. I am also a deck creator myself, my style is to create something unusual, but with meta-counter cards as well, so the deck is not just a pure meme. That's why I liked your deck, it's unique.
So yes, now you can go even or even positive winrate with these cards! Nobody can deny the good feeling of beating meta decks with unusual decks ;)
Valeera is just so much insane value, especially for upgrading the weapon for big priests. Espionage 1 mana card + shadow card it to have double charge for weapon, perfection.
Ah, that makes sense. It's just that I added Pick Pocket and Face Collector to upgrade the weapon easily. Also, if you can draw your cards without any issues, that's perfect; though I believe Minstrel or Mimic Pod would help you a lot, especially after Espionage.
Other than that, it's good to see a deckbuilder like me. Thanks for the feedback, and have fun on Wild ladder.
I have to share this one. Messing up a quest mage was never more fun than this:)

Wow, 3TK as Rogue? Well done, it was a good one. Btw, was it Casual or Ranked because I couldn't find anything? And, if Ranked, at which rank were you while playing this deck?
Im playing it at rank 5.
That's neat, I never thought this deck would be that good at Rank 5. Good luck on the road to legend!
I don’t have Shaku, Gallywix, Tak or Face collector. I can craft 2 legendaries, which ones should I craft. Also is the deck playable without them, because I’m not sure if should craft them at all. I’ve always wanted to play a deck with gallywix in it, but I’m not sure about the other ones. I do have tess tho. I’m only getting into wild and this should be fine to get me to rank 12-10, right? I’m mainly just looking for a fun deck, and others seem to really like this one.
Hello, Machewey! First of all, you can play this deck without crafting the legendaries you mentioned at the cost of reducing the powerlevel of this deck. Just replace the missing cards with the ones I suggested, then you will be fine. However, if you really want to craft two legendaries, Gallywix should be the first and absolute as he can fit all kinds of decks (Thief/Control/Reno etc.) followed by Shaku. Gallywix is the best 6-drop in Rogue class, 8 Health means he can tank a lot and 5 Attack is a serious threat. As value/body, he can compete with Sylvanas I can tell, if you want to compare. As for Shaku, he is one of the greatest 3-drop minion, yet I can't understand why Thief Rogue players don't want to use him. Having Stealth means you can safely drop him whenever possible as he can't be targeted directly unless you attack/steal something first. Besides Thief, you can put him in any deck. As for Tak, before him, I used Grand Crusader to have an upper advantage against Rogues. If you want to swap Face Collector, use Sir Finley to change your Hero Power and use it for greater good. Thus, you don't need to worry about accidentally destroying your weapon. Come to think of it, I can use him too, though I need to find a better replacement and test him first.
If you want to have fun with this deck, or scrathing your head after Rogue nerfs, go for it because this deck is safe to craft. This deck can carry you to Rank 15, and to Rank 10 if only guided well.
Sorry for the long-wall text. I hope I answered your questions clearly.
Thanks for the reply, I can’t wait to play this deck, unfortunately I have to wait till the monthly rewards to craft it. Thanks for the advice it was very helpful.
Thanks for the reply and helpful advice, I have to wait till the monthly rewards to craft this deck but I can’t wait lol. It looks really fun, and I can’t wait to try out gallywix and Shaku.
Thanks for the fun deck! Had to do few replacements. I used Stolen Steel as you suggested, but i believe it does not fit in. The weapon you get from it might get played again by Tess Greymane, and it can kill your buffed Spectral Cutlass. Pilfer and Burgle are better replacements. Anyway, i just wrecked Reno Lock with this, thanks a lot:)
It's just that the replacements I suggested was to maintain the core of deck, which is Thief Rogue. Better replacements would be Eviscerate/Sap and such to maintain board presence at the cost of losing Thief tools.
Thanks for your comment, I am delighted you enjoyed my deck.
You sir, are amazing 👌
Glad you liked this deck.
This deck is fun, but don't expect to climb the ranks with it.
Of course it's too hard to climb for legend with this deck when you are at Rank 5 and beyond since the meta is mostly agressive (Odd Paladin/Murloc Shaman) and this deck is for chilling or those who like to play Control decks. However, you can reach at Rank 15 -even Rank 10 if guided right- with this deck.
Thanks for the feedback. It's good to know you enjoyed my deck.
Why did you decide to not play prep anymore?
First of all, before the nerfs, the reason I used Preparation was:
Now Preparation reduces the cost of a spell by two. Then, Raiding Party costs 4-Mana. Thus, when combined together, Prep+Raiding combo is too expensive at 2-Mana for a Rogue, and there's no Tempo gain by that (I mean no minion presence on your side). Rather, at 2-Mana, I can play Cavern Shinyfinder to have a board presence and draw-a-weapon.
In short, Preparation and Raiding Party alone/together aren't worth using or expensive. You can consider Cavern Shinyfinder+Mimic Pod as pre-nerf Preparation+Raiding Party if you turn your thinking around.
