WELCOME!

It's time to steal. In this deck, you can see underused cards forging a strong deck. They say Tak Nozwhisker is terrible, so what? Trade Prince Gallywix is bad, really? Keep on reading if you want to see the beauty of Reno Thief Rogue, a deck which I love to play and became powerful thanks to RoS.

GallywixTak

Update: It's sad to see Hearthpwn leave this tavern. Don't worry though, I transferred this deck to new tavern, and I hope to see you there.

HOW TO PLAY?

Game-plan is as easy as a pie: Mulligan hard for Cavern Shinyfinder followed by minions lower than four mana. When you start, play Swashburglar/Hallucination on turn 1, followed by Cavern Shinyfinder to fetch your twin-weapon or Underbelly Fence/Vendetta to stabilize your Tempo on turn 2. Then, continue with Blink Fox/Face Collector/Shaku to get far ahead of your opponent. This opening is by far the strongest.

On turn 4 and beyond, it's really up to your skills to upgrade your weapon well. If you use Vargoth with weapon-buff spells (Poison/Oil), that will be crazy. Aggro players will be surprised when you buff Spectral Cutlass that hard, followed by Reno because this weapon is the only duplicate. Thus, you will be immortal against Aggro players.

As for control decks, you will beat them easily. Play Trade Prince Gallywix when you are far ahead of board to press them hard for debate: Play a spell to save, or refuse and die. Then, there's Azalina, which will be more satisfying to "steal" their victory condition from, say, Exodia Mage. If all else fails, with one tick of Emperor Thaurissan, play Tak Nozwhisker+Academic Espionage combo to refill your hand.

OPTIONS...OPTIONS...

As for how to play against other decks and cards I didn't mention, you can check below:

  • Pick Pocket: No matter what you face, keep it out during Mulligan Phase. This card will upgrade your weapon if executed well.
  • Hallucination/Undercity Huckster: Keep them in all matches during Mulligan Phase.
  • Goblin Auto-Barber/Cutthroat Buccaneer: Keep them away during Mulligan Phase. After you equip a weapon, they will be valuable.
  • Poison/Oil: Keep them out during Mulligan Phase. After you equip a weapon, play them alongside Vargoth to boost your weapon twice.
  • Ethereal Peddler/Emperor ThaurissanThey discount the cards you hold in-hand. Unfortunately, Ethereal Peddler can't discount Rogue cards when you are Rogue. However, if you get non-Rogue Hero card from Lotus Agents and play it, then you can discount them.
  • Lotus Agents: With hidden changes, when you play him, he doesn't grant an extra durability or proc abilities of Vendetta/Underbelly Fence like he used to. Despite this change, he is still viable, and if you get non-Rogue Hero card, that's perfect, especially when you face Rogues.
  • Archmage Vargoth: Most versatile card and fun to use in this deck. Versus Fatigue/Mill decks, play Academic Espionage on turn 8 to prevent fatigue hard. Use weapon-buff spells (Poison/Oil) to improve your weapon twice. Play Hallucination to steal twice. Even better, play Mimic Pod for a greater Sprint.
  • Spectral CutlassAgainst Rogue players, you shouldn't focus on upgrading your weapon hard unless you find non-Rogue Hero card from Lotus Agents. Then, if you play the card, you can improve your weapon by playing every Rogue card you have.
