Charging Shutterwock in Disguise

This deck was my try on creating an OTK Shutterwock charge combo. In the process of making it, it turned out to be a little different and Shutterwock became more of a second win condition. The deck tries to aggressively control the board with its charge, windfury and rush minions and win the game on its own. Shutterwock won't always work but when it does it will never be expected. The combo is so unusual and the deck doesn't focus on stalling and drawing cards like a normal OTK deck would.

The deck is made playable in casual. I played a total of 134 matches (including previous versions) with a winrate of 54%. The winrate was really bad at first but after a lot of adjustments it finally went up. The general winrate would probably be higher if i only played with the current version.

Notes

  • Midnight Drake, Scaleworm and Twilight Guardian together will buff the attack of Shutterwock to around 15. Azure Drake and Netherspite Historian also play an important part buffing your Shutterwock as they have synergy with Midnight Drake.
  • Corpsetaker will give Shutterwock Windfury (at least, if you haven't drawn your last windfury minion before playing Shutterwock).
  • Saronite Chain Gang acts like a backup if your Shutterwock can't get Windfury. The reason I don't use this over Corpsetaker is because Saronite Chain Gang isn't failsafe either and will sometimes copy Shutterwock before it gets buffed or gets charge making the copy kind of useless. Though, when it does copy the buffs including windfury, what's your opponent gonna do against 3 Shutterwocks with 15 attack, windfury and charge?
  • Armored Warhorse is your only opportunity to give Shutterwock charge. But because you got 2 there's still a good chance for it to work.
    • I'm still not sure about having only Armored Warhorse as the only card with a charge battlecry. But adding Leatherclad Hogleader would also require adding Coldlight Oracle, and Spiked Hogrider would require a taunt on the field which would also require adding The Black Knight. I can't really find room for those cards without making the deck unplayable in general.
    • Because going for synergy is better than just adding powerful cards, I tried to use Midnight Drake to my advantage and go for the dragon theme. This required me to at least put 7 dragons in the deck in total as that seemed like the magic number. Azure Drake and Primordial Drake aren't required for the combo so they could be swapped for any other dragons, but they at least make you draw your deck faster and protect against aggro.
    • Doomsayer, Jade Claws, Maelstrom Portal and Netherspite Historian are your tools to deal with the early game.
    • Hagatha the Witch seems kind of odd in this deck. But because the deck was lacking healing, suffered small hand sizes and couldn't have enough AOE I found this to be a well fitting piece.
    • I also considered using The Curator and Wrathion. While The Curator being a good choice in this deck (4 beasts, 7 dragons) it was still being overshadowed by other important tools that I needed to include.
