Hey guys!
I love to try all version of tempo rogue and I really never thought about having Fal'dorei Strider in tempo rogue but it seems to work nice!. In the video bellow you can see the deck in action!
The first game is against aggro paladin where I think the mulliganing is really important. I actually had decent game which helped me to control the game to the end.
The second game was against warlock and something that I did not expect at all. It was a zoo lock! I had nice starting hand so it was kinda easy match.
I hope you can enjoy the video guys and have a nice day!
Game vs control warrior..
This is a classic tempo rogue deck from VS Meta report, but with a twist. This list exists since KFT (around 6 months in different variations). There is nothing new about this list which has not been known for months. People know how to play against this on high ranks, and it has been consistently countered with control warlock/cubelock, Razakus priest and aggro druid.
I play this deck (-ooze & spellbreaker, tar creeper and faldorei, + 2x saronite chain gang, deckhand and scalebane), the winrate between ranks 5-legend is around 50%. The strongest counter to this deck, aggro druid, is not so played atm, but priest and warlock will take you down consistently. Against aggro paladin you are favored 60:40.
@everybody - do not craft this deck if you expect 80% winrate. It is false or extremely low number of games on a streak. It is a tier 1 deck, but not dominating as OP says.
If you do want to play the deck, the version from VS is better than this. Faldorei strider is too slow for this deck, and tar creeper and ooze are techs against paladin and warlock, although it makes the deck worse in general. You shouldnt play these cards in this deck.
@OP, i will downvote your deck because you are lying about the winrate.
Actually you are right about the win rate but I got currently a 59% win rate with about 200 games played and I hit legend for the first time with this last season. Fal'dorei Strider is absolutely insane, it solved me plenty of games especially against priest and warlock with massive board clears.
I do not play the exactly the same version as this one. My version of the deck features 2x Shadow Step and 2x Southsea Deckhand.
Agree with you. From ranks 15-5, this deck can have really high WR (over last two seasons, I am >70% in those ranks). But once you start to hit priest/warlock queues, it feels more like a 50-55% WR deck against the meta.
So what did you actually replace for striders, saronite or scalebane?
The problem I see with faldorei strider compared to other 2 options is:
- your gameplan isn't attrition, most of your games will be solved by midgame, hence there is a big chance you will not draw into spiders
- Going into lategame and getting value out of faldorei means you are playing against a control deck, and late game 4/4 spider against a control deck usually doesen't mean much
- Faldorei is worse for most popular matchups than other 2 options - scalebane helps against priest and provides more aggresion than faldorei, while saronite is insane with keleseth + helps against aggro a lot, unlike faldorei.
I still think the card is wrong in this deck and that standard meta build is better. Faldorei is a miracle rogue card and it's good in that deck because miracle cycles pretty fast through the deck with cheap spells + auctioner. Outside I could justify it in a control rogue build, but in tempo hardly.
Do you guys really believe this deck has a 80% winrate in legend... You just made a deck, placing a winrate on it and hope it gets upvoted.
If this is really an 80% winrate deck, show atleast your match history or anything like that before calling out '80% winrate clickbait deck'.
This deck even reached the front page...
hmm I always thought shadowstep would be irreplaceable but after playing some games with this deck making some adjustments to it, feels good. I took out 2 of the Striders and replaced with Cobalts. and also -1 spellbreaker for The Darkness and 1 ooze for cairne
It's a strange question but it would help me greatly if anyone could give their legit opinion. I don't have Prince Keleseth (yes, it's 2k18 and I don't have him). I have all other cards. Do you think playing 2 Dire Wolf Alpha would make a good substitute for Prince Keleseth and one Elven Minstrel since it goes well with our turn 1 play?
well, I have other decks but I wanted to play some tempo rogue. And, I think if you play keleseth, you should play shadowsteps and saronite chain gang because those have synergies with prince keleseth. Your answer is not very helpful.
No Shadowstep ?
No Sonya Shadowdancer ?
Feels like the deck is lacking one heck of another "winning-condition" chance.
Bad deck...Spiders are useless without card draw

Why Edwin VanCleef is Irreplaceable in Tempo Rogue
Biteweed!
is faldorei actually good with these types of decks? do you think its worth crafting or should i replace with something else?
As far as I can tell, fal'dorei is replacing scalebane as a pressure maker in this list, but i'm not sure if it's actually better.
Therefore, if you don't want to use your dust, just play the more traditional version of tempo rogue
ive been playing traditional just trying to see how i can improve it
love the deck , but priest hurts
But Cobalt Scalebane can survive his Dragonfire Potion, those Leyline Spiders will all die against it. Forgot to mention Pint-Size Potion and Shadow Word: Horror combo.
But well im not a priest, I just know what kicks my ass as rogue. You got my +1, very nice deck.
