@AlmightyHelix
Remember that Faceless Manipulator is a minion... if you want to combo out with Val'anyr, the entire rest of your hand needs to be spells.
Blessed Champion will do the exact same thing with 100% chance vs 12.5% chance of each Doppelgangster buffing Chillblade Champion.
With this weapon you don't have to worry so much about the upcoming Ooze meta, but have to now worry about Silences and Transform cards. My problem is the cost. If it cost 6 or 7, it would definitely be playable. At 8 it's a bit clunky. Also don't wanna draw Tirion while you have this active. That would not work out so well.
It DOES cost 6 mana, not 8, and you never need to pay more to re-equip it.
i think he means on turn 6 or 7. since on turn 8, you will almost always play tirion if you get it in your hand.
That's my fault. Either I was thinking of something else or misread the number. Thanks for correcting. I feel like it is a must-play at 6. Still a bit clunky overall, but some of the combos with it could go really well. Like Tirion, for example, would depend on the order of which weapon gets played first. If Val'anyr gets played first, then the 5/3, then you'd still get the Deathrattle. Otherwise, you're losing a 5/3 weapon. You also lose the weapon if the Deathrattle has nothing to target.
Like a lot of these cards, as long as you can avoid the polymorphs and silences there's definitly a lot of value to be had with this card.
But how looooooong can this go on?
powerfull card but slow. paladins have similar weapons already. Playable.
What I like about this card is that the minion buffed by it will need to be silenced (otherwise you gaining infinite value), effectively sparing Lynessa Sunsorrow, Tirion Fordring or any other big buffed minion from having its effect removed.
Well i'm disappointed. I mean ya, it's a nice fit for hand buff deck and while not the most creative of effects it's still moderately such, good and interesting enough, but it's just so out of character, well if one could say that for an inanimate object of course; i mean as a wrath player, the only legendary healer item in the game wielded by paladins and priests and it, well it's effect has nothing to do with healing, health, life or shielding; not one to be a lore fanatic but come on XD.
I find it fitting that the best raid gets the best weapon.
F**k you Silence type card
if the buffs were the other way around it might be good for say small taunt like stonehill defender (4/6) or the 1 droip taunt devine shield (3/5) it might be powerful in control , this is made with a handbuff midrange deck in mind. I'd say Playable.
You do realize the effect is indefinite till you get silenced or run out of minions, it keeps on passing the torch and is a great buff to handadin, hand buffadin, whatever name fits hand buff paladin, anyway it's one of those indefinite value potential cards and if it was any cheaper it'd be on the absurd side.
one of the few good weapons in this expansion so far
Is there a compelling reason to not put this in just about any non-aggro Pally deck?
might be too slow for the meta. Depends on if you can afford to play a 6-mana Twilight Hammer that only really starts to generate value once it dies for the first time and only if the target doesn't get silenced.
Not saying it's bad, but it's not exactly strong tempo
Imagine this is a 4/4 weapon for six that buffs a minion in hand by 4/2. Even then it isn't good
