It should been +1 attack if you win the joust. Should be so much better and it would gave so much value to joust mechanic !!
This is actually a very good addition to Control Paladin decks. The Joust result is largely irrelevant. Many people will play a 3/2, (e.g. Knife Juggler, Sorcerer's Apprentice), on an empty board at the start of the game vs Pally, and Argent Lance counters that well. Just think of it as a 3rd Shielded Minibot, with Charge. As a bonus, you also get a peek inside your opponent's deck.
Solid card. That's all I can say.
Many have underestimated this weapon. There are loads of good 3/2 minions in TGT and I'm seeing a lot of them getting killed by this weapon. That is, Paladin decks without Shielded Minibots can practically compete before they took too much damage and got crushed by aggro.
WHY WHY WHY COULD IT NOT HAVE BEEN A 3/1 THAT GAINED 1 DURABILITY IF IT WINS THE JOUST???
We have the best aoe removal but still have almost no single target hard removal besides weapons. TWO YEARS SINCE THE GAME'S BETA AND PALADIN STILL GETS NO EARLY REMOVAL.
Your suggestion is *strictly* worse than Fiery War Axe. If it had been released that way people would be whining that Paladins are getting shafted compared to Warriors. Trust me on this one.
WHY IS PALADIN NOT OP?? I'VE BEEN PLAYING IT FOR SO LONG WHY DID BLIZZARD GIVE IT DRAWBACKS? I JUST WANT TO WIN EVERY TIME WITH A DECK WITHOUT WEAKNESSES IT'S NOT FAIR!!
Well, Warriors would actually need to receive good commons in TGT too.
I can't help but compare this to Glaivezooka. On its base stats, it's clearly the same, and its "bonus" is comparable. Assume this is played as a two drop, so turn 1 you're dropping a 1-attach minion, and turn 2 you play this or Glaive. After Turn 4, this weapon has done 6 damage, the Glaive has done 4, however the minion is most likely dead in both scenarios. If the minion has lived, it's done 3 extra damage in the case of the Glaivezooka, so 7 total. I think they're comparable.
Late-game, I'd probably rather have the hunter weapon, but I think this is a good early tempo play for a control paladin.
This is actually a pretty good card in my opinion. Really gives paladin a way to deal some immediate early damage without having to play a minion on board and can potentially deal up to 6 damage in total. This with Shielded Minibot gives paladin a good way to secure early board advantage. Don't really know if it's worse than a Fiery War Axe, but definitely useful early removal.
Wish it was +1 attack instead. Would made paladin powerful again. This way, Uther still can't kill a 2/3 on two mana. Every other class can; see:
Druids: Wrath
Hunter: Quick Shot
Mage: Frostbolt
Priest: Shadow Word: Pain
Rogue: Backstab + HP
Shaman: Rockbiter Weapon, Lightning Bolt, Crackle
Warlock: Darkbomb
Warrior: Fiery War Axe
Darnassus Aspirant is going to be almost auto-win when facing paladin. Retarded
Druid gets a 4 mana drop on turn 3??? Knowing druid that's just wraith and a hero power. Not really an auto-win. Calm yo titties.
You don't play Hearthstone much, do you?
Seems risky for 1 more durabity. +1/+1 would be better suited for the risk, but a 1 durability boost is more balanced i suppose. getting to see a opponents card can be handy too, reveal a Big Game Hunter = best (or worst if you don't have bait) case scenario.
The thing nobody sees is that this card actually reveals an opponent's card. This can actually be really useful. Example: It's turn 9, you wanna play Dr. Boom but you are afraid of Big Game Hunter, you can play this card, and if an opponent's Big Game Hunter shows up, you can play Dr. Boom or any other 7+ attack minion with more safety, and it's not just that, if you play this on turn 2 against a hunter, you can know:
1-If he's a Midrange or Face Hunter
2-What secrets he has (sometimes)
Sorry to burst you bubble, but last game, in an enemy joust, my MCT showed up. I topdecked it next turn.
I had forgoten this comment already.. anyway, this doesn't matter, I play at least 10 jousts per day and I only topdecked the same one that got revealed three times, you just got lucky.
I don't understand why they just didn't make this as the Paladin version of firey waraxe as a 3/2. Anyways the two drops for Paladin is incredibly competitive and it wouldn't see play even if it was a 3/2.
Looking forward to trying this out - may not stick in the long run but I am really interested in trying out this new Joust mechanic. This card offers early ability and early insight into opponent's deck.
So basically it's either a worse Fiery War axe or... Still a worse fiery war axe. Blizzard really hates the paladins dont they...
