Card Clarifications
- This card functions like pre-nerf Yogg. (source)
- Battlecries of minions will not trigger. (source)
- If you previously stole a Hero card from your opponent's class, played it, and became that class, Tess plays all of your Rogue cards instead. (source)

That is exactly the reason, same with the DK's.
It says it there in the card clarifications bit right under the card:
f you previously stole a Hero card from your opponent's class, played it, and became that class, Tess plays all of your Rogue cards instead.
Does anyone know if golden Tess replays golden versions of the cards she got?
She does infact replay golden versions!
Okay I misjudged this card so HARD. You can control the RNG of this card by playing opponent's minions first and THEN spells that you want to play. If Tess Greymane casts sh1t in order (I really hope she does because if she doesn't, you almost never want to cast spells from your opponent) you played them, she should summon all the minions and then play opponent's spells you played to possibly buff your minions etc.
The order is really important if that's the case. I'm not sure yet but I hope it's true.
No, just like shudderwock, the order is completely random.
What if I Holy Water into Tess Greymane into Baleful Banker, will it play 2^n cards I stole??
edit: I mean, will Tess play Tess again?
Does anyone know, do Death Knight cards get replayed? Not sure if they count that as "another class" or maybe they don't count because they're neutral? Although, I don't think they are neutral spells, so I'm thinking they should get replayed. Same question for dungeon treasure from Marin. Theorycrafting with Arfus, Marin, and TLK, so I'd like to know.
DK cards are considered to be from the 'Death Knight' Class, so I think they will get replayed.
BTW, if you want to test any of these interactions today, get a test deck with Obsidian Shard and see if the cost goes down. That should confirm it.
DK cards make things a bit crazy. If you play one before Tess, you change class, so then when you play Tess you play all your Rogue cards again. It sucked when I found out as I wrecked my board when I wasn't expecting it.
I was actually referring to Death Knight cards, not Hero cards. (e.g. cards from Arfus/TLK)
What a piece of garbage (in the sense it's so boring)! Can't believe Blizzard have managed so make the game worse and worse for every expansion since GvG. And the other rogue legendary, equally boring. These days, Hearthstone seems to be all about random and braindead mechanics.
So glad i'm not playing it anymore. So why do I feel the need to post this then? Well, simply because I can and want to express my opinion. Also, I really liked the game for a while and have spent a considerable amout of money on it (have no regrets though). And to all of you who will say I want be missed yada yada, well it's mutual. I also find those kind of posts as unnecessary as you find mine so spare yourself the trouble of answering.
So what would it take to make me wanna come back? In general less random, make every class as unique as possible and develop their identity. And for rogue especially, more combo and clever mechanics and maby drop the "If you played a card from another class" mechanic completely. None of this seems to happen though. To say the least lol.
Tess Greymane > Yogg-Saron, Hope's End > Shudderwock
This order. One Game.
prenerf yogg
Iconical character? Check!
Praiseworthy Yogg variant? Check?
Can double up and use both in a deck for memes, highlights and possibly more? Best. Withchwood. Legendary. EVER!
Maybe, probally not though since it's too slow and it's bad against aggro decks or if you have Tess in your hand.
Decks that play Tess Greymane obviously run a lot of steal mechanics, so some will likely end up getting the Shudderwolk legendary when playing against a shaman--this card interaction could cause absolute unmitigated chaos. For example:
Imagine getting the Shudderwolk off of a steal card. You play Tess to fire off your other stolen cards, then, next turn, play the shudderwolk to do the same with all your battlecry effects, including Tess's, which fires off another copy of every stolen card you have played (including another copy of the shudderwolk without the battlecry. Then, next turn, if your opponent cannot clear both shudderwolks (or if you simply decide to shadowstep one of the ones you have on the board), you use zola the gorgon to get another copy in your hand, who will fire off the battlecries of both the first tess and the first shudderwolk, which will cause another triggering of the tess battlecry while potentially giving you another shudderwolk from your zola battlecry.
Needless to say, there is absolutely no way to predict how this would work out, but it would be a really amazing situation.
New Yogg-Saron, Hope's End?
