You can't really compare the 2 because Duskbreaker costs 4 mana and at 4/5 turn you can pretty much clear the board with 3 dmg.
E.g. With Hagatha on turn 8+ against Warlock, 3 dmg won't clear the board, most likely you will just kill your minions since Lock's minions have much more HP than shaman's (usually) e.g. Voidlord and Carnivorous Cube.
Ofc you can play it and it actually depends on the board, but it's unlikely that you will clear the board on turn 8 with 3 dmg. As you said, with Murmuring Elemental you could actually clear a board by dealing 6 dmg. But it means that you will clear ALMOST every minion YOU have and not every one that your opponent has.
It's not like Hagatha the Witch is a bad Card, it's going to be a great card against aggro decks (e.g. Murlock Pal) but not really good against control decks (e.g. Control Priest or Lock).
In the end, I will craft Hagatha the Witch because of her Hero Power that would give me some nice control (I guess).
The point is that her Battlecry could actually be way better than it is. I think that even Thrall, Deathseer has a better battlecry or almost each other DK hero. Something like "Hex every minion on board" would've been way better than 3dmg or at least "Deal 3 dmg to ENEMY minions".
It would be actually pretty good if you could augment her Battlecry with Spell Power, that would be actually a pretty powerful combo (e.g. Malygos + Hagatha the Witch)
P.S. My point is that I'm quite unsatisfied with her Battlecry, but it's a nice card.
The Runespear 2.0.
*slowly looks over at Unite the Murlocs*
Hmmmm.....
I though about it too. Something like a Spell-Hunter, a Minion-Shaman.
she has jade claws
Soft Evo Elemental Witch Shaman.
Win.
Edit: PLUS you can combo this with a murmuring elemental for a likely board wipe!!
Every turn after you play this: play minion, play volcano or a heal, repeat. You'd probably need luck to win against pressure or aggro, but you just need time to beat control with that much value and card generation. Even better is that by playing minion generating cards like elementals/echo minions; you also generate spells as well. I'd expect tournament-level decks on the back of this card.
Well Grumble, Worldshaker just got a new best friend!
Yeah, perhaps worthy hero card for Elemental Shaman. Kalimos needs to rise!
finisher for evolve shaman. think of lyra... not 100% consistent but can give you a good lava burst. valuable, clear and health that evolve shaman dont have space for. 8/10, likely will see play if evolve shaman returns in a future meta. (evolve shaman was imo unfavored against cubelock by a margin fyi; this card might make the difference between a 10 health cubelock with a voidlord and you bursting them with small minions that generated damage
Evolve is rotating out, so this isn't an option for the deck.
Well, Wild still exists
I like it.
It's never going to be a "solid" answer as for it's passive effect, however the Battlecry will come in handy.
The passive isn't bad nor the best. It does however turn every single minion you have in your deck into a Babbling Book deal.
It reloads your hand pre se and has a rather fantastic passive if you go into top-deck mode.
People who think this card is good need to think long and hard about what kind of decks typically dominate the meta.
I don't know why you're being downvoted. Probably people in denial. You're not wrong. People seem to think every "fun" card that comes out of an expansion is automatically "OH MY GOD META DEFINING". It's like when I argued with people that Geosculptor Yip for Warrior was going to be trash tier when it was announced for Kobolds. "BUT YOU CAN GET A 10 COST MINION OUT OF IT IF YOU HAVE 10 ARMOR SO IT'S GOOD" and yet the card has been only played in some recruit warrior lists and is still bad.
This card doesn't have consistency to it and an 8 deal 3 damage to all minions is garbage when cards like Duskbreaker exist. People also comparing this to Lyra for priest when priest has better overall spells and you're actually able to cycle with Lyra vs this you can't because it's minions that give you the spells. I mean this is an awesome card but you're 100% spot on about people who think this card is going to be good.
People probably thought that I was making fun of anyone who likes this card (which is definitely not the case). This card is good, simply put. It's a good card. But it's good like the Legendary Shaman card is good. Play murlocs, get mega murloc, get a hand full of new murlocs. How could that suck? Well, it relies heavily on RNG. Only a few big RNG cards have ever made a meta impact, like the original Ragnaros, the pre-nerf Yogg Saron, Lyra, etc. And it's not because these cards are bad, rather they just don't fit the constructed meta that relies on getting specific answers to specific problems and being able to do it consistently. If your deck doesn't have consistency, it doesn't remain a top tier meta deck. So while this card is good, I think it won't have the consistency to be a high tier meta deck, and I don't think most people are considering that.
The only hero cards defining the meta atm are the priest, warlock, hunter and MAYBE rogue out of 9 classes the hero cards seem to have 33-44/100,seems fine to me plus shaman players have been suffering for about 6-9 months now
I don't even know about that. The DKs that are seeing the most play are currently Gul'dan by a large margin and then Druid. Priest DK is garbage without Raza as there's literally no reason to run it right now and hunter isn't good. Druid is just flexible which is why it's the second most played and then yeah Rogue as you said. Rest are all basically not played though because they're all bad. Warrior, Shaman, Paladin was played for like two weeks and then people started countering it.. and yeah.
@Rose1574 Mostly agree with ya, but a few corrections (IMO). Priest DK is still good against Cubelock a lot of the times since it removes Doomguards and occasionally Mountain Giants (teched for matchups against Priest). In other cases, Shadowreaper is still pretty decent as it transforms your early game survivability into a late game win condition.
Deathstalker Rexxar is not innately bad, in fact, it's innately one of the best cards in the game, but the it's in the wrong class. If Hunters could afford a more control-ly or more late game oriented deck, it would be run maybe not as much as Bloodreaver Gul'Dan, but maybe as much as Mal'furion the Pestilent. Worth mentioning that it was run in some Midrange lists back in the KFC meta.
Scourgelord Garrosh is great in most Control Warrior decks today, Thrall, Deathseer can fit perfectly into most token/midrange decks, and the Paladin one defines OTK Pally, which is about a mid Tier 3 deck.
i saw the hunter one for like 1 month and a half non stop because of that all spell deck everybody was going nuts about, yeah priest not anymore guldan op and druid, sure it's good but not META-DEFINING as he said
