I personally think that by the time your opponent has a board that you can't just remove with Defile or even Hellfire, then it's probably in the late game and you can just use Twisting Nether, DOOM! or even Deathwing if you want.
Basically, this card's niche as being an early board removal feels outclassed by Defile. And by the time Defile is too weak, it's probably the late game where you have far better board clears.
Everyone is talking about the potential combo with Malchezaar's Imp. But we've gotta remember that Team 5 isn't exactly well known for their consistent effects. I think it will work, you probably think it will work, but we've gotta be ready for it to not work.
So yeah, I don't think this card is good. Not "Dust It" level bad, just "Very Bad". Or maybe a 3/10.
You are forgetting a few things. DOOM! costs all your mana at turn 10 and while you do get a bunch of cards you cannot immediately use them while Twisting Nether is usable at turn 8 while at turn 9 or 10 you have only a little mana to use after. With this card at turn 10, you can cast it, hero power then have up to a 4 drop on the board.
In addition it can wipe the board if you are getting pounced on by aggro and midrange when Defile won't cut it as the health of minions have to be in sequence from 1 to do a board clear which is not always easy to do.
I tried playing Cataclysm with Malchezzaar's imp in play -- for some reason I only drew one card ( I had 5 minions). Note this was the 2nd cataclysm of the game - the first one on turn 4 completing the quest :D.
Now im just hoping that Warlock's weapon is "Whenever you discard a card, draw a card"
But how about this?
Just put 1 Lakkari Sacrifice and 1 Cataclysm (and probably Elise or some other card generator) in a control Warlock deck as an alternate wincon. You mulligan the quest, and just draw it and Cata some time late in the game VS a slow control deck. Play Sacrifice, play Cataclysm and you can immediately play the portal for your 5 remaining mana. You get the two 3/2s to refill your board, and you don't have to fill your deck with stuff like Lakkari Felhound and risk discarding your Bloodreaver or Lesser Amethyst Spellstone.
Think of it the same way you think of Deathwing, only it doesn't lose to hard removal and gives you a wincon against stally Warrior decks or non-Razakus Priest decks.
Its a good idea, but I don't know. Discarding is already pretty questionable and then to have a card that discards your hand and doesn't give you board presence unless you have the quest seems bad. Honestly I think Deathwing is better which is the problem. Maybe there's some way to make this work, but every time I hear an example it sounds like a worse version of either an aggro discolock or a control warlock. Also usually I find that warlock is really perseverant against board clears as a control deck so adding small, easy to clear minions doesn't seem like it would help, if anything I find that my opponents run out of single target removal from all my other midrange sized minions so Deathwing sticks a lot of the time.
This card is garbage. When you use it you instantly give your opponent board initiative and have no way to refill the board (other than silverware golems that are weak). Yes, I do know about the quest but even then you have to have six other cards and this on turn four (for the dream scenario), but even then you have to not play cards for a few turns and give them board initiative and all you get is 3/2s. Against tempo decks you would have wasted to much time and health to come back even with the board clear and against control you will still be out classed in value. This card will be tried, but the downside of the card severally out weighs the upside making the card useless.
Dirty Rat's new best friend on turn 6.

Every Warlock card revealed so far feels like a meme.
Hmm, I was thinking you could Deathspeaker a Malchezaar's Imp right before using this to refresh your hand, but I believe destruction kills immune minions...?
just tried it with deathspeaker and shadow word pain and the immune minion does die
Its the end of everything muhahahahaha
warlock has so much aoe removal dam
How is this very good, or even meta defining???
Guys, don't let the 4 mana fool you, this card isn't good at all.
