Ben brode never wanted hearthstone to be played more than 5 to 6 matches a day. He and the hearthstone team wanted to make a fun comical casual card game to pass the time between raids and PvP. It was supposed to be a profitable niche game. What he didn't expect was that it would become an esport. RNG is what makes HearthStone fun. You want strategy go play sc2, you want mmo go play wow, want a shooter overwatch...HearthStone is fun because it's simple and random. The reason people hate RNG is because of cards that abuse it. (Boom) This card does not. If the card wins you the game great. Knowing when to play this card is the only thing that makes it good. It's a fun card. Maybe not a competive one but what do you care? You're just going to net deck your deck. You think playing savage roar druid is skill that copying someone else's deck is amazing. Your not skilled your just a monkey in a cockpit the experts built your ship you just have to hit the big buttons.
Fun legendary, but doesn't really combo with any other card. The RNG is very vast, and it will be a dead card when it becomes a useless / non-impactful minion. (Plus it would cost 1600 dust)
This will not see play.
It will troll players by rolling into creature that cost "mana you have + 1" and into wisps after you get 10 mana
Dark Peddler value!
Woah... that's a pretty big buff! Damn Daniel!
Cool card... But I doubt he's gonna be in any of my decks. Unless I get him from a pack... I wouldn't spend 1600 dust for his RNG
I wonder why they didn't make his base cost 0, given his name, and his stats being vanilla for 0 mana...
Anyway, is his shifting purely random? if so, his RNG bypasses card rarity, meaning that while he is a legendary himself, and while his shifting being random, you are having each time a higher chance to possess an epic/legendary card in your hand than you would by opening a pack.
The fact he changes every time means you cannot truly rely on him, but it also means that you get to use cards you don't really own.
Sure, his usability depends on the right shift at the right moment, but isn't it the same with any card drawing?
Not a relaible minion, but a perfect filler. A fun and potentially table-turning one.
with my luck: turn 5, he transforms in to Sylvanas Windrunner, turn 6 he transforms into Dr. Boom, turn 7 he transforms into Ragnaros the Firelord, turn 8 he transforms into Ysera, on turn 9 he transforms into Varian Wrynn, and finally on turn 10 he transforms into Wisp
Keep a coin then Kappa
Very interesting as it can be any card and balanced as it doesn't transform on the battlefield if you keep it in your hand for long enough it will eventually be something good.
This will be interesting with Mind Vision depending on how it interacts with it.
If it copies Zerus, then ouch.
If it gives a copy of what Zerus is currently, you will be able to mind game your opponent as he wonder why a Mage at rank 10 is playing Silverback Patriach.
I sure hope. I have asked the question on Twitter to the Heartstone team and will be updating here once I get an answer.
LOL wtf people are thinking about?! THis card is amazing and will see play more often than reno jackson. It is just amazing, you'll see this will be played in every midrange deck!
When it changed to random card, will new card cost 1 mana ? It would be funny 1 mana Malygos.
Nope,it transforms into another another minion with the same Cost,Stats and Effects the card has. Only difference is,that the card remembers itself being Shifter Zerus , so it will transform each turn.
Hmm thank you for clarification. I think, i will not spend 1600 dust on this little guy.
I would like the card better if the effect was on board. I mean, sure, it could become very powerful turn 2, but most of the time it is pretty easy to clear a 1/1 the turn its played. Maybe for one or two extra mana this would make sense, but I like the idea of shifting during your turns.
Think of it this way: Until Zerus is played, you can it as it remembering a random card and showing that to you but it still is Zerus in reality.
The way i see it,this guy will be decent in a slow meta, where you can afford having this minion multiple turns in your hand until it transforms itself into a playable minion. Yes,you might get unlucky and have 10 angry chickens in a row,but the moment you suddenly have a 2nd Sylvanas or a 2nd Ragnaros you might love this minion. Practically this is a Shade of Naxxramas for your hand. Probably getting tested on Reno Decks...
