Better than solemn vigil in many cases.
Rejoice Shamans!
It's not worse than Arcane Intellect...it's different.
Sure the 2 Overload sounds bad, but that's the Shamans thing. Plus overtime we will only get more overload synergy.
This is one overload card where the play less and play more NOW makes a little more sense. Because it only cost 2 mana upfront, Shamans have an easier time to play what they draw right away compared to the 3 mana of Arcane Intellect. Of course the draw back is it's not really a good play early game on curve when you have a bad hand.
I can see using 1 Mana Tide and 1 Ancestral Knowledge in most decks...
That awkward situation where you play this turn two, and can't play a card till turn four.
the real question is.
do i add this to my murloc deck?
no,no i dont
the question is.. why would u play murloc shaman?
because i like playing murloc shaman and i have 200 rank wins with it.
Crap early card draw.
Average mid game draw.
Good late game draw.
an arcane intellect for 4 mana ? shouldn't it either be overload (1) or draw an extra card or something? (I dunno restore 3 health / summon a random totem? #shrug)
I guess Blizzard prices overload less than actual mana, probably because there are cards that sinergize well with it, like Lava Shock and Unbound Elemental. They perhaps also don't want to give Shaman a card draw as good as Arcane Intellect.
id agree if shaman was half decent and anyone actually played lavashock, they just keep trying to push overload but its just a worse version of innervate :/
Hoping blizzard has a couple cards this set that actually interact with overload. Lava shock ain't doin' it. Otherwise this card, while is good enough to play, is going to be really underwhelming...
This, there is currently one card that assists with overload in any way. Overload is half the reason shaman is a gimp class. There needs to be creatures that benefit from overload like gain +x/x where x is the number of overloaded crystals.
Functions as a very good drawing engine in later turns when mana is no longer such a limiting factor (Turn 7+).
NICE CARD! Arcane Intellect for 1 mana more, but split in 2 parts as an Overload effect to make it playable turn 2. I like this.
Edit: Well, turn 3 you have 1 extra mana to play a 1 drop...
Let say you play this on Turn 6 and a bunch of other overload cards, And on turn 7 you play lava shock
Blizzard theorizes that overload for 2 is equivalent to 1 mana cost, comparing direcly to Arcane Intellect but the thing is, it should be the opposite! Having less total mana in the following turn is a lot more detrimental to the tempo in practice than using less cards on each turn (by delaying it's costs).
That would have been a fantastic idea, and helped overload decks tremendously.
Should have been 1 overload in my opinion, shaman deserves the love :D
This card is very cheap card draw and have interesting mechanics with Overload
Blizzard seems to be releasing a lot of cards that, by themselves, aren't nothing great. However, they do make other cards better
Great, Shaman get's a reliable card draw engine. This is a great card as one of the weaknesses of shaman was a lack of card draw.
