I can only see this card getting play in Shaman. I think this is the worst card that has been shown so far.
I bet you're eating those words now, huh?
The Mech synergy possibilites just get more and more interesting.
I'm really excited to play with this card, thank you blizzard for denying hunters to win games they don't deserve to win :)
Don't quite think this is the answer to hunters, a 3/3 for 5 is still pretty bad. Just too slow in my opinion, and too many other good 5 drops to fit this in.
The way the hunters are built atm is simple: They usually run out of steam after turn 7ish+. At that point you are pretty low but caught up on the board, and the only aspect they are pressuring is your life total by their consistent hero power. Healing for 8 just seals the deal. I don't think this card is slow, and a 3/3 body isn't something you want out of this card. In this meta, I'd run a neutral spell that costs 5 mana and restores 8 health tbh.
This card has some value vs hunter, it basically gives you 4 more hero powers, that's enough for many classes to bring their power out against hunter. Hopefully this is the counter to hunters that everybody has been looking for, I'm not hating on hunters, its just irritating and frustrating to play against a strong class that it's hard to build decks against. This card actually has a lot of value in my opinion.
edit: Perfect for handlock maybe?
I feel that his card is going to be slightly ignored for a while, and then come into the meta. When you're being threatened by damage from the hand, you don't need a big taunt, You need some healing. This can take you out of lethal reach while still putting a body on the board. Unfortunately the 5-drop slot is filled with cards that have better board impact.
But hey, the board doesn't matter if you're about to die to 2x Skill Command.
Taunt > Healing because it trades minions....
I was unaware taunts stopped spells. When you're worried about lethal from the enemy's hand, you don't need a big taunt unless you expect charge minion shenanigans. I think you missed the point.
It's good that this card is limited to your own hero, lest Priest abuse Healbot with Auchenai Soulpriest.
Just thinking about a priest playing this with an Aurenchai on the board made me smile.
They could just as easily change the card text to "Restore 8 health to a friendly character." It would be vast over-heal on the majority of minions and would only hit full value on a select few.
I could see this in a freeze mage deck + duplicate. :/ Makes mage a pally.
Why does it need to fit into an existing deck? New cards are supposed to inspire new ideas, we're not supposed to just cram them into old archetypes.
its better than healing touch + a vanilla 3/3, since its one card for 1 less mana.
This card is complete shit. Paying 5 mana for a vanilla 3/3 is horrendous. Healing doesn't matter that much. You want to heal a little, tech a farseer instead since he can actually trade with early game minions as opposed to coming out when your opponent slams doomguard.
i think handlock would replace one farseer with this card
You obviously don't understand what he wrote. 3/3 body equals 3 mana and healing touch equals 3 mana. You are effectively receiving both cards (minus the "targeted" for 5 mana. Six minus five I should 1. Please finish school and pay special attention to the reading comprehension portion of your studies.
Good stuff, healing touch with a small body. I think shamans will like this.
