This card is really insane, u're just a bad player
Well sometimes you play a spell because you want something to happen, not something else at random. If you're trying to stall your opponent with Blizzard, there are good chances (about 25% that you'll end up spending that 6 mana to draw 3 cards instead and your opponent still has his board just fine. And maybe you really need to do it and don't have a small expendable spell to play around it. The 8 mana pool has buffs that work well on a big board, but also decks that might clean the board instead, and spells like Tip the Scales that might end up as 8 mana do nothing. Anyone trying to pull some combo might have to play another spell instead and wait a turn, or wait until they draw an expendable spell.
And if you cast a Puzzle Box and get one random spell basically you're getting 1/10 of what you paid for. Some spells might make you discard a key card
And we're not even mentioning the new cards. Imagine accidentally throwing away your deck with a spell that turns into a Deck of Chaos which is only good if you built around it.
I'm not saying it will always be like that, but especially some decks will really have to be careful against Paladin secrets.
You need a good relaxing. You don't know its potential. How good it is in Wild, current standard, in this expansion, or expansions to come. Don't write it off so soon.
This is like a counterspell for 1 mana. The chance that this will have a better outcome for you is very high, you disrupt what your opponent planned for the turn for just 1 mana. So yes, this card is crazy good, not just a meme.
Only thing i can say is what the fuck
You KNOW that there are going to be highlights in wild where secret paladin forces somebody to drop a Cataclysm or Astral Communion and they just rage-quit from the game...
Great card that really punishes careless players.
Seriously. If my only spell was a 4-cost when a Paladin drops a Secret, there's no way I'm testing it with that 4-cost spell. Do anything else! The risk is not worth it.
Yeah. In wild, there are a lot of REALLY bad hits if you get unlucky though. For example:
1-mana: Plague of Flames, Shadow Council
2-mana: Explore Un'Goro
3-mana: Elemental Destruction, Treachery
4-mana: Cataclysm, Astral Communion
5-mana: Mass Hysteria,
6-mana: Dragonfire Potion, Lightbomb, Darkest Hour, Felfire Potion
7-mana: Earthquake, Psychic Scream
8-mana: Twisting Nether, Void Contract
Ultimately, the chance of hitting one of these spells accidentally is very low, but the damage they could cause is absolutely catastrophic. From my estimation, the best solution if this is potentially up is to attack with everything first, then play either a 2 or 3 cost spell to test it. The largest dangers appear to be on 4, 6, and 8, with 6 having the highest chance of absolutely screwing your board state if you are ahead.
Myra's unstable element on turn 5, aka instant concede lol
Renounce Darkness is probably also disastrous to hit.
this card does nothing, seriously NOTHING what paladin wants and needs right now.. another card for the dumpster, another set for the dumpster for paladin... only crap released.... shame on the hearthstone devs!
what paladin lacks right now its card draw, anything else looks promising, and there is still some cards left for reveal, chill bro
It's a tech card, a cross between Counterspell and Spellbender...
Below I explain how it works taking the mage as an example: If he play the Yog box (10 mana) he could turn into a pyroblast (10 mana), but the target will be chosen random, so he could throw a pyroblast on hisself... (obviously if you want to counter a 10 mana spell it's not recommended to play this secret from the first turn ...)
One of the best cards already revealed
I want this card to be accompanied by braying laughter when accompanied!
(Sorry, I’m watching Friends these days...)
This card will create some very funny interactions, to be sure. It's effectively a 1 mana counterspell, unless the new spell turns out to be good for the caster... but that's Yogg for you.
I guess the only issue will be that currently, not very many paladin secrets are run in decks, so in the beginning, I doubt there will be much "secret" to this one.
Furthermore, as with counterspell, you normally want to test with a small one first anyway, so it might end up being low impact overall.
We shall see how it all turns out.
Paladin secret that doesn't suck. What the hell
I would like this a lot if Paladin had good secrets. But as it is... eh.
Play Coin -> Get Innervate / Counterfeit Coin -> ???
Or Moonfire/Embiggen
