Ragnaros' Fire Festival Brawl Returns for the Midsummer Fire Festival!
Defeat your opponent, but if you feed an ever-growing, minion-eating, tiny Fire Lord, there may be a reward in it for you!
Trivia
- This is the second time we've seen this brawl.
- Ragnaros' Fire Festival Brawl first debuted on July 5, 2017.
- This brawl is a part of the Midsummer Fire Festival event in Hearthstone.
- This is the first brawl that has activated special effects on an emote.
- A score is kept over the duration of the brawl to see how many minions you've fed to Mini-Rag. Score elements are a rarity in brawls.
Midsummer Fire Festival
- A bonus has been activated across Hearthstone since Monday which enables 2x gold for completion of quests during the event.
- Midsummer ends after 2 weeks (July
3029 is the last day). - A brand new brawl will appear next week with more Midsummer goodness.
How it Works
- You'll have to build your own deck.
- At the start of the game, a Mini-Rag will spawn on the side of player 2. It has 2/3 stats and is Immune.
- When your turn is over, the following happens:
- Mini-Rag launches 1 damage missiles at your side. The amount of missiles shot is equal to his attack value.
- Mini-Rag will gain attack value equal to the number of minions killed by him.
- Mini-Rag will switch sides of the board and the next player can now play as normal.
- When Mini-Rag kills minions, your overall score increases which unlocks Fireworks! See below section "Firework Unlocks".
- The end of game screen will give you a congratulatory popup indicating how many minions Mini-Rag killed that game and overall during the brawl event.
Fireworks Unlocks
The wow emote has been upgraded! Once you've killed a certain number of minions during the Brawl, your wow emote will shoot Fireworks off!
- 8 Minions Killed - Level 1 Fireworks
- 30 Minions Killed - Level 2 Fireworks
- 60 Minions Killed - Level 3 Fireworks
Discuss This Week's Brawl!

It actually is a coop brawl. But sadly not many people realise this.
This Brawl is the perfect example of how horrendous the game designers are. The most pointless Brawl ever. Who draws Patron, wins the game.
It's a coop brawl. Sure Patron helps to win games, but it is also the best minion to use to help you & your partner rack up minion kills from Rag.
Would you prefer the Top 2 or Top 3 brawl where it turns into Mech Hunter gold farming or Fireball Ice Block stallfests?
I have only got 38 kills, do u need something like a shaman overload snowfury/spellstone combo?
Could someone give a tip for the late game? 30-60 minion kills?
You don't need 60 in one match, just 60 total over all plays
WHAT, ok that makes things a'lot easier xD
I wrote some tips

This deck isn't cooperative. It's not meant to be. In a winner and loser brawl, you can't rely on opponents to cooperate. So if you want to win this brawl for under 1,100 dust, this deck is for you.
this brawl would be much better if both heroes were permanently stealthed
For those that haven't noticed. If you played this brawl last year your kill count is rolled over from last year. So doing more killing this year nets you nothing more than a higher total number.
So this is meant to be a co-op brawl.. yet you can only get your pack if you win, so people will tryhard anyway. And they couldn't even be bothered to mention before the fight begins how this brawl should actually work. I'm sure I had the same complaints in the first brawl but I'm more annoyed that they haven't tried to improve this.
My brawl opponents stopped reading after "Defeat your opponent" ...
Trying to Co-Op seems pointless, playing minions that heal my opponent etc. no one takes the hint, moving on...
*Shrugs* took me only a few games to find someone who knew it was a coop brawl.
If they made it so the player that made little rag hit 60 attack or whatever attack limit first won this brawl would be soooo different.
Also, Frost Lich Jaina works with mini rag... If you want to heal back to 30 every turn AND make the game last 20 mins don't forget to put her with your Grim Patrons
time to go farming
Y'know, people can whine as much as they want about people 'not getting the design of the brawl' as they like. Small problem here: Blizzard still made this a winner and loser brawl. So, some of us don't actually care about getting mini-Rags up to a hojillion attack for the fireworks. And really, I can't say as I blame those folks.
This is one of those very rare times where I'll say that if you don't like it, blame Blizzard for designing it poorly. If they wanted player cooperation, there should have been a few more sensible guideposts and design choices made. Others have said disabling minions from attacking would have been a good start. I'd have even given Mini-Rag 'Your hero is immune' a la Mal'Ganis or Violet Illusionist.
I'm not saying it's a bad brawl, because it *is* fun. But people wanting to win isn't wrong.
Agreed.
Played on NA and won first game.
Then played on EU and tried to coop. Opponent just killed me but I thought ah well that's fine, but I expected to still be awarded the pack. As you say that doesn't happen, so you can't blame people for playing to win.
Should have been more coop focused I think with rules that encouraged it.
Yea this brawl is pointless since every person I play just kills me instead of actually trying to level rag up. I build a deck to get rag going and instead the other player just goes face and kills me. Got my free pack and now done with this brawl. They should of set it so your minions can’t attack. Atleast that way these idiot people actually play the brawl to level rag and not just get a quick win.
Or make it so this brawl doesn’t reward 10 gold for each win.
My minion heavy paladin deck has yet to lose and some games I literally haven't attacked the other person. Just builds up too much of a wall of minions and the other person tanks like 10 damage to the face by turn 4-6.
