I'm hoping that Boomsday launches early today. One of the expansions last year (I think it was Frozen Throne) was set for midday or early afternoon EST, but at 10AM I logged in to see what quests I could finish before the expansion was out and was greeted with the in-game banner for the new expansion! I remember the community lost their minds over the surprise early launch, and it was a blast to open packs before I expected to.
Anyone else think we might be so blessed this time around?
Not everyone. I saved up for a good while to get the 80-pack mega bundle (I always set aside money for pre-orders), and have saved up 5,100 gold. Two free legendaries on login, three free packs from login, and at the end of the month we all get another 3 free packs.
Honestly, it's not always about the money. Some people kill it in arena and make triple the gold I just posted here. There are ways to play for minimal or no real money spent, but it takes time, which not everyone has. And yeah, some people do dump money into Hearthstone, that's their prerogative. Doesn't make them rich, it might just be what they choose to spend their entertainment money on.
Vicious Syndicate posted a build with Baleful Bankers in it to allow out to cycle Tony back into your deck if you pull the legendary spell first. As with all OTK/combo decks, it won't be easy to play out, but skilled players (and lucky ones) will have the best odds of keeping their win rate above 50%.
Saying the OTK never works isn't accurate; it's difficult to make work
I'm giving my latest changes ot the deck some time to sit while I consider them. I think Umbra might be a bit too idealistic, and Chip was more of a filler card than anything. Devilsaur Eggs are definitely a great alternative target for activation.
mby so ur opponent doesn’t know right away what deck ur playing?
on another unrelated topic: which decks are possible?is there a list somewhere
Blizzard said it will be one of 18 deck recipes that will update with every expansion, 2 decks per class, and never the "classic" decks. So when Boomsday launches next week, playing Whizbang will get you either a Witchwood deck recipe or a Boomsday deck recipe.
Peter Whalen also mentioned that the Witchwood deck recipes will be updated to include new synergies from Boomsday.
I assume going forward, this also means every time an expansion drops, the recipes get updated, meaning Witchwood will leave and be replaced by whatever the end-of-year expansion is in December.
As much as I personally dislike this card, I was also really disappointed with the lack of animation. Saying that your "hero becomes Whizbang" felt misleading when the demo match started and it was just druid. No Whizbang hero portrait with the druid hero power, no Whizbang turning into the druid, just Druid. I guess there's the small advantage in a match of having that mystery of "which deck are they" that disappears with a Whizbang startup animation (which recipe decks definitely need given their often weak builds in comparison to top tier meta decks), but this isn't a card you play to try and get to legend outside of challenging yourself, so why not just give us a fun animation, maybe even let him keep his portrait for the game and give him some fun emotes?
In short: I disliked this card before I saw it in action, and now I am disappointed in how lackluster the card I dislike is.
This isn't something deck creators can change. There's no option to choose a newer patch, since it's not out yet. the best we can do is update them once the patch is live and the option is available on Hearthpwn's deck creator.
Until then, just use the option "Include Unreleased Cards" in the search filter and select "No." This will eliminate from your search any decks created under the latest patch with cards from Boomsday.
Enjoy searching for decks without unreleased cards showing up!
Ok, so I don't think hunter will be tier 1 or even 2 come next week, but I hope I'm wrong. That being said, I love hunter and have put together the beginnings of a Boommaster Flark deck.
I would really appreciate suggestions on how to refine and improve it! I don't care for votes, just any ideas you may have to help this deck really succeed (even if it ends up being a rank 15 deck at best).
UPDATE: I made some changes for more magnetic and less trying to cover myself in every situation. This deck needs to focus on face damage and board presence. I think cutting down a bit on the one-off cards will help.

If you want rich, check this guy out: https://www.pcgamer.com/meet-the-guy-who-spent-3200-on-hearthstone-packs-in-one-night/
THAT guy is rich!

Hearthpwn must have updated yesterday in anticipation of the expansion launch today. Kind of a moot point now...

OTK is one of the favorite things mage players get to build

With Boomsday imminent, I want to wish everyone on here good luck!
I hope you all get to experiment with lots of new cards, and that your pack RNG is the best it's ever been.
Avoid the tilt and have fun!

Ok, I made some changes as you can see. Let me know if this is looking more coherent!

Yes, because swapping them to have 2/0 means they die, triggering the deathrattle

Thank you thank you thank you for the feedback! I'm going to revisit this and update the deck.
