It just happens to me, that I see this card in 2 out of 3 games in ranked and sometimes it becomes really annoying, especially when played double Innervate into UI, which is pretty unexpected.
So I just did a math. Let's say that deal 5 damage is 3 mana worth, 5 armor is 1 mana worth, 5/5 is 4-5 mana worth and card draw, well, 5 cards draw is at least 8 mana worth. It means that in total is UI at least 6 mana cheaper than it should be.
What do you guys think? Do you think it should be nerfed and if so, then how?
I'm focusing on super budget decks for 1k dust and I'm pretty sure, that you can't build a decent secret mage for that price (maybe I'm wrong, never tried). And if you by tempo mage mean burn mage, it is possible but you will miss some core cards like glyph, pyro, medivh or other epics/legends.
You can replace 2 Coldwraith for 2 Shimmering Tempest, I was experimenting with this lately and it works well against less aggressive decks.
Steam Surger is fine choice as it is 6/6 body + 2 dmg for 7 mana. It's not Blazecaller, but you can play it way earlier. I would replace 2 for 1 Bonemare and 1 Water Elemental or you can replace it for any 2-drop elementals if you are facing mostly control decks.
Tol'vir Stoneshaper could be a very viable replacement if you are playing against a lot of aggro face decks. You can replace it for Water Elemental or Ice Walker (I count Ice Walker as 4-drop since i usualy play him alongside with ping).
I shall warmly welcome any criticism but be just a little more constructive. What rank? Against what heroes? What's your main archetype? What cards didn't work for you? Have you made any replacements?
PS: This deck is not supposed to be crafted. Any casual player who plays this game more than 2 months and doesn't dust every single card should have at least 80% of this decklist.
Nice deck. Only one thing, I don't think Bloodsail Corsair has (100 dust) value in budget deck without Patches the Pirate (I would replace it with Acidic Swamp Ooze - you have more than enough 1 drops). BTW budget deck is considered <1600 dust which means this is not super budget deck, not even budget, technically. But yeah this is really nice deck and proper use of new cards.
If you have Alexa I would strongly recommend you to build a control mage deck as those are ones where Alexa brings her whole potential. She is playable here too, but if you build a budget control mage deck with alexa in it will certainly have a higher winrate.
I wouldn't recommend you to replace spell for minion as 18 minions is more than enough, especially for a mage. However The Lich King is a great choice, but it would be better to replace for some less valuable minions (read fillers) like Thunder Lizard. If Breath of Sindragosa really doesn't work for you, you can replace it for any other removal like Firelands Portal, Meteor or Polymorph, if you are facing a lot of aggro deck (which I'm not since KotFT release) then you can replace it for 2 Volcanic Potions

I've run against this deck yesterday with my control mage. You could say I got oiled *feelsbad*
-7
-1 Deadly Shot, -1 Eaglehorn Bow, + 2 Bittertide Hydra
Works like a charm. Gotta love zombeasts!

So no Gadgetzan Auctioneer on first pick anymore? God bless you Mike.

It's fine card in some matchups, when you know when to play it. But honestly I was expecting more. Still pretty funny if i steal 2 Yoggs :)

Do you really think that nerf decisions are made only and only by Ben alone?
