No taunts, no heals... How does it stand against aggro?
Well it's the biggest problem.
I had no problems so far with evolve shaman, I ran into 1 c'thun druid only and I won, 2 C'thun mages and won too. Priest is quite easy usually, I lost to one priest only. Midrange hunter it's 50/50, if your draw is better you win, if his is better, you loose. C'thun warrior is winnable, but you have to curve out really well. I won against 1, lost to 1.
But face sham/hunter it's almost unwinnable with this list unfortunately :/ zoo you stand a chance. But it already was a problem with old lists, pre wog and pre nerf.
I did something like... 10 games, so it's just a little sample, not representative. I'll do some more this evening.
I'm also working on a list without c'thun so it will have more space for taunts or heal :)
@lemneska I would most definitely use 2 fan of knifes and 2 Shadow Strike over Betrayal and maybe a Sprint or a Sap, and I would sub 1 Undercity Huckster for Bloodmage Thalnos if u can afford to use him. He is very good and helps all your clears as well as it draws. I think that should make the deck more consistent.
Usually I play Yogg for fun when I'm really ahead in the game, or when I'm in a bad spot. I lost games by playing Yogg, but those games were lost anyway. But it saved me games so often. I just won against a C'thun priest thanks to Yogg. I was in a bad spot, I had to survive to his C'thun on board since 2 turns, and my C'thun and blade of c'thun were in my last card, so no hard removal. I had vek'lor twins to protect me at first, and then, nothing on my board, against his 17/14 C'thun. Still no blade of c'thun, or c'thun himself. So I went for Yogg : sprint, got me both C'thun and blade of c'thun, and then he casted Misdirection :D casted some spells to the priest face, 8 health left for him, 12 for me. He went face with C'thun and.. well, you know the end of the story. So yeah, he's good.
In casual I play him all over the place though. I'm just curious to see what happens
@lenneska What kind of healing do you run? In my deck I have absolutely no space for healing I have 3 taunts and removal, tempo tools. The early game I handle with deadly poison, si:7, hero power and removal, but I don't see any way to use healing cause if u are using healing u lose tempo and if u heal u are already behind probably.
I don't, that's where the problem is. I've changed my list to something a little different, it looks like it works better than my miracle testdeck. But still, sometimes a heal could save my game but, I don't have room for another card.
This is the list I'm currently trying. I did not run gadgetzan in this one, so I subbed tomb pillager for squid face, so I can have a decent AOE with blade flurry. Turns out it was not really great. I think I'll just go back to gadgetzan.
I crafted Yogg-Saron, Hope's End in gold, so much fun, so much golden spells, so much wow. I'm not disapointed at all. My advice, to all of you, spell based deck users, just do it, do it, craft Yogg-Saron, Hope's End. And it actually won me games (but you know, it has to be a golden yogg, if not, it will just throw pyroblasts to your face) !
After some quick games, I'm quite satisfied with our cards ! Xaril, Poisoned Mind is really awesome, and Blade of C'Thun is beyond great. Shadow Strike ? No comment, really great. I didn't try Shadowcaster, I feel like it's too slow, I didn't feel the need or the will to try it, maybe later.
I'm currently working on my list, which is a miracle C'Thun/Yogg-Saron, Hope's End and it works well but it's really dependent of your starting hand. Sometimes I feel like I need more heal or more minions, I don't know. Maybe I'll add 1 or 2 Beckoner of Evil, for early game, and trigger C'Thun more efficiently so Twin Emperor Vek'lor is easier to trigger. Which can save a lot of time and health.
Creativity isn't dead its just there aren't options to make unique decks in this game
Died long time ago. 50% of games I played were against face shamans
Right ? Feelsbadman.
I'm 100% sure, even if we had a special place in hearthstone, with no reward at all, no coins, where you can't achieve your quests, so the ultimate fun decks place, WE WOULD STILL FACE STUPID AGGROSHAMS. I feel like I'm the only one playing Yogg-Saron, Hope's End.
So far I've encountered aggroshams, facehunters, fake eboladins, a few C'Thun decks, and some midrange hunters, I guess they were playing N'Zoth, the Corruptor, didn't see it yet. I managed to win (approx) 60% of my encounters, 99% loss against stupid shams, no one's playing a cool shaman deck with their awesome new cards.
Damn daniel aggroShaman is so stupiiiiid. Just get out of casuaaaaal.
I guess WotOG is too much fun, they can't handle.
Just wanted to spread a little bit of salt, not to much, I'm going back to my golden "Yogg-saron, fun's end", 100% guaranteed golden pyroblasts to the opponent's face. Tested and approuved !
I feel like it might be better to shift your deck into a miracle-like spell heavy control deck and have Yogg be your main god :P With only 2 types of C'thun buffers (one being very late game) C'thun might not even be necessary. But, it is your preference of course. The idea of a spell heavy control rogue with Yogg sounds really interesting though. I personally love Thalnos and Azure Drake, I just recently made a deathrattle rogue that focused on spell damage and control with N'zoth as the god: I never cared for the idea of a deathrattle zoo.
Having an evolved Kobold seems a little expensive to me. 7 mana for a 3 dmg fan is a big cost, also being spread out in 2 cards. I don't think Blade Flurry is totally dead, I think running one in certain decks is fine, and the added poisons allow for more value trades. Those are just some ideas I can think of.
Yeah a Yogg-Saron, Hope's End spell based rogue could be cool but I don't think you can rely on yogg as a win condition, i want to try it at launch because i'm sure it will be fun. On the other hand, C'Thun, even at 10/10, 10 split damages as a battlecry is massive, and it's effortless, it's not like i'm trying to make it work, +2/+2 from the disciples and it's already 10/10, and if i kill a minion on turn 9 with the blade, it could reach 18/18 depending on my opponent's minions. For now I'm almost sure 2 Disciple of C'Thun and 1 Blade of C'Thun are enough to prepare a great C'Thun battlecry. Basically it's a malyrogue list, as Disciple of C'Thun and Blade of C'Thun are great cards on their own, but you can get a free avenging wrath battlecry with a giant body with no effort. That's the reason why i want to run C'Thun in such a deck :)
For the Evolved Kobold yes, i'm not sure to include it yet, it was just an idea to provide another board clear option. Maybe keeping one Blade Flurry with an Assassin's Blade could work. But if your opponent has Harrison Jones or an ooze... you're screwed. And you will not want to use Blade Flurry if your blade has still 4 durability because it's a waste. I really don't know. Maybe we won't need such massive board clears now that we have a looooot of new tools. We can remove a lot oh threats early thanks to Backstab, SI:7 Agent and now Disciple of C'Thun, we got Shadow Strike, Blade of C'Thun which are great removals etc. But again, we will see. I'll try my C'Thun/Yogg-Saron, Hope's End deck at first, and then my C'Thun/Malygos deck for more serious plays and more serious deck building.
I have also been tinkering with the idea of an old gods rogue. Although mine is a little unorthodox as I am trying something similar to the reveal stream and testing out a deck with both C'thun and Yogg-Saron.
Yep, there's a lack of card draw. No AOE too, and only 4 spells which are likely to remove a minion. So I hope you get the perfect curve every time :p I have doubts about this list ! But keep improving it. C'thun rogue definitely has some potential.
I thought about adding Cyclopian Horror to my deck but I felt like you would get more value from Sen'jin considering you get the exact same value of Sen'jin from Horror if there are 2 minions on the board; therefore, to get more value than Sen'jin your opponent needs to have at least 3 minions out. Cult Apothecary might be decent, or you could add 2 Earthen's for some curve. Depends on how the deck plays out.
Yep you're absolutely right, I think Dazdingo will always end up being better against most of the class (when dropped on curve).
About the heal... I used to run one healbot in my malyrogue list, and I often ended up not using it. And since I'm not planning to use my weapon as much as I used to thanks to Blade Flurry nerf (so i won't run a Deadly Poison i think), I did not add any heal options to my current "wip" deck.
So as you can see, no heal, a lot of the old miracle package, and a funny touch with Yogg-Saron, Hope's End but i think i'll end up using Malygos instead, for extra damage reach, so I don't have to wait or rely on a biiiiiig ass C'Thun, or if I want C'Thun for a board clear instead of a winning move (or the opposite, rely on Malygos for massive clears and bait removals so C'Thun is okay to go), but in the beginning you know, I want to see some old gods in action :p
Evolved Kobold, just in case, if i need an easy 3 damage aoe if patrons are still a thing. "Holy nova like" Fan of Knives might be enough though, because patron warrior is just one deck, but again, we'll see. Maybe i'll end up using a Perdition's Blade, and keep a Blade Flurry, with an azure drake or bloodmage thalnos on board it's also a 3 damage aoe. Lot's of thing to try ! Even Malygos, into Preparation+Fan of Knives on turn 9 for a massive board clear. So your C'Thun is free to go next turn.
For now, this is what I'm going to play, more or less, at the launch. Of course I'll modify it when I'll be able to try it, and when we'll see what the meta is about.
Dark Souls 3. Just like every night since April 12th.
And when I finish that game, a whole lot of midrange shaman and value mage.
Haha same. Dark Souls is my priority right now. Although I'll probably still open some packs to see what I'll be playing with after I finish Dark Souls.
Happy to see that there are some fellow dark souls players here ! cheers

Yep I already made some changes, kicked Betrayal and one Sap. Added 2 Beckoner of Evil, works better for me than Undercity Huckster, the Twin Emperor Vek'lor is easier to trigger, so I can gain a lot of time and save a lot of health. I tried to include a Cult Apothecary, didn't try it yet. And yes I'm going to try Bloodmage Thalnos instead of a beckoner. I'll keep you in tune.0

Definitely Yogg-Saron, Hope's End ! He saved me some games already. Lethal down there !

My upvote goes to Yogg-Saron, Hope's End !

First time I encountered him today: a priest played Hungry Dragon, I got Shifter Zerus on my board, Shadowsteped it, got Yogg-Saron, Hope's End the turn after :D and then I won. Ended up crafting a golden Yogg-Saron, Hope's End in gold of course. So of course I love him !
