xskarma posted a message on New Warlock Cards Revealed - 2 CardsPosted in: NewsI'm kind of assuming that the fatigue package with either the Imp package or the Curse package will be better than whatever we can do with Discard.
Fair point though that you need to have played a card before Crescendo to make it actually do ANYTHING of note, cause a 3 mana AoE 1 damage is bad, bad, bad. -

SpaceTimeDream posted a message on New Warlock Epic Card Revealed - Crazed ConductorPosted in: NewsBaseline this is 5 mana 7/8 in split stats. It is reasonable but you'd much rather summon at least two imps.
Looks like this Fatigue package is attempting to do Questline Warlock but in a different flavor. I am not really sure how you'd make sure not to kill yourself with Fatigue though since Void Virtuoso and Felstring Harp prevent damage in the first place so you take 0 damage and Crescendo would deal 0 damage.
Seems like the fatigue package is a meme to me.
Edit: At least Crescendo is a meme but the other two could find a slot in Implock deck.

Thanatos2k posted a message on New Warlock Legendary Card Revealed - Symphony of SinsPosted in: NewsThis seems powerful, but to be honest, the first cast at 6 is almost underpowered. 6 mana 6/6 taunt with reborn? Not that great. 6 mana for two casts of the good half of Altar of Fire? Not good enough. 6 mana draw 6? Highly likely to burn cards in the type of deck that would use this card. 6 mana Felfire Potion + 1 damage? You can do better.
It's only if you can draw and use the rest does this become actually powerful. We'll see.

ZagniefMaster posted a message on New Warlock Legendary Card Revealed - Symphony of SinsPosted in: NewsOk it's another "discover a lot" card that is crap because game mechanic doesn't let you discover more than 3 clasically (or 4 if it's Kalimos/Bru'kan).
Why don't they add "scroll next/back" button for discovery card so every option would be seen at play? Such limitations kill the card when you can't play what you want and rely on random discovery.

lv426a11 posted a message on Year of the Wolf Core Set Update!Posted in: NewsIf im reading this correctly, Shadowstep is staying in standard. That means rogue will potentially have 6 bounce spells. That's going to be extremenly fun to play against.../s

Most classes have 0-1 viable decks, so buffs are actually needed. More playable decks usually lead to a more diverse and interesting meta.

Unless they go crazy with these buffs, I doubt Warlock will become playable.
Control Warlock problems are much deeper than single target removals (although he needs them too). He mainly lacks win condition, healing and resource generation.
And Fatigue Lock is... just bad. Slow, inconsistent, inflexible and without a reliable finisher. Totem Shaman does pretty much the same thing but better, so why bother with Warlock?

To be fair, fun in this game is usually one-sided...

On turn 4? How? Voidcaller costs 4 mana, but it also has to die. On top of that, without Mal'Ganis or Enhanced Dreadlord in your hand, it's basically a dead card.

Why do you downvote them for not knowing something? Users here are really toxic...

Warlock's cards are awful. Both Dirge of Despair and Demonic Dynamics don't really have enough good targets in standard, but the latter might see some play in Imp Lock. However, no replacement for Tamsin Roame or Touch of the Nathrezim leaves Warlock with pretty much no healing other than Drain Soul and that sucks.
1
Blood DK can do three times more and it's still not enough. And Sacrificial Pact is not in standard anymore.

It seems that Control Warlock was indeed just a bait. Defile is cool, but other than that, he doesn't really have any good removals, healing, armor stacking or even a proper win condition.
Tamsin Roame is out, same as Touch of the Nathrezim, Entitled Customer, Dreadlich Tamsin, Full-Blown Evil, Spice Bread Baker, Death's Head Cultist, and Goldshire Gnoll. All he has left is pretty much Drain Soul and overpriced Siphon Soul and Twisting Nether.
Blood Death Knight has much better control tools, but still can't keep up with aggressive decks like Undead Priest or Aggro Frost DK, so Warlock won't do any better.

This clearly goes into the Imp Package, so there will be yet another year of Imp Lock? Looks like Control Lock was just a bait. Disappointing.

I'm not sure curses will see play anymore. Without Tamsin Roame and Brann Bronzebeard (both rotating out) their reach is much more limited and curse cards are not very good on their own.
