While there is a large random factor in this one, you still have decisions to make. Do you use Offensive Play on turn 1 to get a cheap legendary on the board? Do you wait for turn 3 to use two Offensive Plays to play your expensive legendaries for 6 less? Do you have two of a certain legendary in your hand to get them all discounts? There is definitely some decision making based on your draws.

    Here's a replay.

    Also, have a screenshot.

Fun fact: if you use Faceless Manipulator on a minion that you stole with Potion of Madness (and probably Shadow Madness too), the copied minion also goes back to your opponent at the end of the turn. I found this out the hilarious way.

Based on my admittedly short experience playing this brawl as druid (4 games - 3 wins, 1 loss), I can say that most people seem to be unaware that the druid deck has Bloodlust, and often ignore your small minions. Then, Bloodlust wins the game given the right circumstances. Having turn 1 Twilight Whelp to establish a board and summon eggs on later turns (while having board control) certainly works pretty well, too.

I do not believe that druid is the worst class, as so many people seem to believe, if only based on the Bloodlust surprise factor. It even has an advantage against priest, getting some free minions out of the opponent's card effects.

Much to my surprise, chess pieces ignore secrets such as Vaporize. o_O

Turn 1 Call of the Wild + 0 mana Snake Trap from the opponent's hero power, hard to lose from there.

I have an issue with White King, as many have pointed out. Charge, no retaliation damage, huge health pool in the early game, bypass taunt and many secrets... The strong early game is an issue because most classes can't compete in the early game, and losing the early game/board means you can basically never establish a board ever again. Most classes don't even have effective board clears.

Skelesaurus Hex is fairly uneven, as its hero power can benefit the opponent just as much as you. All you get is the initiative of playing the 0 mana card first. (Compared to Grim Guzzler, whose deck at least synergizes with the hero power, and thus generally obtains a better minion than the opponent due to the high average mana cost of the minions.)

I have primarily played Grobbulus (rogue), and I found him highly strategic with the hero power. Definitely my favorite so far. He's one of the thinker bosses to use out there.

Am I the only one who is saddened not to see Maexxna in there? Her hero power, Web Wrap, could have been fairly interesting.

posted a message on Double Deathrattler Battler - Tavern Brawl #78

I have a rather mild collection, but I managed to win on the first try with, obviously, an aggro deck. I find two Ironbeak Owls nigh necessary in this brawl to deal with problematic minions (Sylvanas Windrunner, Sludge Belcher, etc). I find N'Zoth unnecessary and clogging because most games are over by turn 10. Freezing Trap is good, Barnes might be good too. Forlorn Stalker is good. I was even using Twilight Summoner in my deck.

So, while constructing my deck, my eyes laid attention to Moat Lurker. Would it perhaps be worthwhile to use Moat Loarker on your own deathrattle minions? Or too slow?

posted a message on Weird bug/interaction in ''Servant of Yogg-Saron tryouts''

I was watching my girlfriend play in the tavern brawl. The opponent summoned Sparring Partner and targeted one of her minions with its effect. Recycle was cast on that minion as per the tavern brawl rules, and it was sent back to the deck. Then, the animation of Sparring Partner's taunting effect went all the way to the deck. I thought it was rather amusing.

This brawl has a lot of unusual, and silly interactions as a result of mechanics that aren't meant to be.

I had a weird issue while playing this brawl tonight. I played a spell, and the game hanged. I had Wicked Witchdoctor on the board with a full board, which I presume is the reason behind this issue. Has anyone else experienced this?

Note: Turn 2 A Light in the Darkness into turn 3 Deathlord (from the previous card) is pretty good even in spite of the tempo loss from not playing a spell and getting a minion at the same time.

Note: Durability does not go down when attacked, but no damage is inflicted to enemy minions attacking the hero, either.

Is Innkeeper still being worked on at all? Early in the topic, there were frequent replies by the developer, but that quickly ceased and it has been months. I would rather know it's not being worked on anymore (if that is indeed the case) than stay in limbo.

The idea is that these effects are forced upon the opponent at the beginning of their turn, as if provoking them into doing it. This effect happens before their start-of-turn draw. To prevent issues with the opponent's timer (and Nozdormu) due to animation duration, the effect technically takes place within your own timer, or inbetween the two players' turns, in the game's engine, but for all intents and purposes, it's at the beginning of the opponent's turn, before they draw.

The effect happens every single turn, and keeps happening on future turns if the minion is kept alive.

    Card technicalities

Friendly Patron: Minions will be forced to attack it, dying (if they have 1 or 2 health) when the opponent normally would want them to go face (if played against an aggro deck of sorts). The attack order is from left to right until the opponent is out of minions or this minion dies. It DOES use the minions' regular attack for the turn, so once they have proper control of their turn, the opponent cannot attack with their minions that have attacked into this minion from this effect

Insightful Gnome: As this effect happens before their draw, you don't get to see what they drew at the beginning of their turn.

Ner'zhul, the Deceived: This card makes the opponent's leftmost minion attack their rightmost minion. Both minions take damage, as if they had battled normally. If the leftmost minion has 0 attack, it cannot attack and thus doesn't take damage back from that nonexistant attack. If there is only one minion, nothing happens. This card would make people think about card position when playing against warlock.

That effect happens before their start-of-turn draw, but still happens within your own turn's timer, or else it would be kind of dumb with Nozdormu and animations.

I'm not sure about the keyword, though, and perhaps another term would be more befitting of the effect. The idea is that these effects are forced upon the opponent upon the beginning of their turn, as if provoking them into doing it? Something like that. Anyway, not sure about the keyword as of yet.

Any assistance about balance is welcome.

Yes, the first card's picture is unimpressive. Shush. :p

The first card's idea is that small minions will be forced to attack it, dying (if they have 1 or 2 health) when the opponent normally would want them to go face. The attack order would be from left to right until they are out of minions or this minion dies. It DOES use their regular attack for the turn, so once they have proper control of their turn, the opponent cannot attack with their minions that have attacked into this minion from this effect.

The second card's idea is simply that you have two turns of seeing your opponent's hand at the beginning of their turn. As this effect (the keyword) happens before their draw, you don't get to see what they drew at the beginning of their turn.

The third card makes an opponent's minion attack another, in the manner listed (left minion attacks right minion). Both minions take damage, as if they had battled normally. If the leftmost minion has 0 attack, he cannot attack and thus doesn't take damage back from that nonexistant attack. If there is only one minion, nothing happens. I know next to nothing about Warcraft lore, so I may have gotten the character a bit off. It's supposed to be based on the Lich King arc of his existence, hence why he's a warlock minion, not a shaman minion.

I made a deck specifically for this brawl. Has to be seen to be believed. Will blow your opponent's mind. http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/666147-miniature-warfare-the-perfect-10-10-brawl-deck

This was funny for like a minute. After realizing how much time you spent on this made me quite sad.
     I had insomnia last night.
