While I think some nerfs are necessary, I can see where you're coming from! Personally, I would like to see Blizzard buff some cards from time to time. There are so many interesting and creative cards that require strategic deck building, but never see any play due to how bad they are. What's the harm in Bogstrok Clacker being a 3/4? What about Al'ar being a 7/4? Or drop Whirlkick Master to one mana?
Nerfs are good every now and then, but I notice how a game like Legends of Runeterra more so frequently buffs cards to give all archetypes a fair shot. There was a card called Aurora Porealis that cost seven mana and saw absolutely no play. Once Riot buffed it to six mana, it inspired a deck that sees decent play on the ladder today. Blizzard should do the same.
I agree that cards such as Guardian Animals and Lord Barov see play in only one class. However, I think it's safe to say that this isn't true for a fair amount of cards.
Devolving Missles is great in both Mage and Shaman, High Abbess Alura is viable in both Priest and Paladin, Ace Hunter Kreen has seen some play in Hunter if more so Demon Hunter, Trick Totem is amazing in both Mage and Shaman, and I've seen all the Soul Shard cards see play in Warlock and Demon Hunter.
I do agree that some dual-class cards simply lean towards one class. However, perhaps time will tell if it will mostly be flops? Thanks for bringing this up! It was interesting to think this through.
I haven't played it because I don't have the right cards. But, I do believe the reasoning for it is the high-roll aspect of it. When your cards line up just right, you're pretty much at an unstoppable advantage. Their ramp potential has never quite this good from what I've seen!
Is there a card you think is good that everybody else is putting down? Go against the grain and post what card you think could see play when everyone else is saying otherwise!
For me personally, I like Cutting Class. I don't think it's OP by a longshot, but I do think that the "weapon" package SA offers could make its way into a number of Rouge decks (not so much Warrior). Cards like Steeldancer and Vulpera Toxinblade look very good when paired with Hooked Scimitar. I don't see too many people talking about this, but I believe it has potential.
1. Soulshard Lapidary - I think this card alone will inspire Demon Hunters to run the full soul shard package. It's very aggressive and provides a lot of easy value. It curves very well with a lot of exceptional Demon Hunter cards.
2. Troublemaker - This is a big threat that needs to be removed. Warrior is going to have fun with this one as it provides decent removal and a lot of value for its worth.
3. Lab Partner - Just an exceptional one-drop for Mage. Good for the early, mid, and late game.
4. Professor Slate - A sleeper for sure. This with Rapid Fire and secrets like Explosive Trap will be amazing.
5. Vectus - I believe this will inspire some people to run specific deathrattles to gain maximum value.
I think cards like Spirit Jailer and Marrowslicer are okay in their own right. However, when you throw Soulshard Lapidary into the mix, they end up in a league of their own. Soulshard Lapidary is the most threatening card in my opinion that offers a lot of value with a package that already comes bundled with this expansion. Demon Hunters will have a fun time incorporating this mechanic into already existing decks. I don't think Warlock will have as much fun.
Demon Hunters already have Ace Hunter Kreen which is just bonkers.
If Glide is your left-most card, you will have an enormous amount of trouble triggering the outcast effects from any of your other cards. You basically have to play it if it is blocking your other outcast cards.
This is a really good point! While I think that Glide on paper is incredibly strong, it's far too inconsistent with the playstyle of Demon Hunter. On the off-chance you find an opportune moment to cast Glide, you're probably going to swing the game pretty hard in your favor. However, people don't run cards in their deck because they work on off-chances.
I don't believe this card is going to be as much of a nuisance as people think. It's very slow for the style of DH and needs Outcast to even work. Sure, it'll be annoying since your opponent can get rid of a potential "answer" to the board but... it will most likely not be consistent enough to warrant play.

Any Shaman or Mage deck that uses Devolving Missiles. That card is VERY well worth the dust so far in my opinion.
Shaman isn't too great, but still.

So, it basically gives you a legendary Snowflipper Penguin? OP as hell.

Me too! I think this is being underrated for sure.

These are some good ideas.
I always thought that they should rework some of the Classic legendary cards that... just don't feel legendary.
Gruul, Hogger, and The Beast just to name a few.

I suppose it would just go Dormant. After that, it would just be a 1/1 I believe.
That's my best guess.

Great review! I enjoyed the read.

Soul Shard DH will certainly be top tier.

I agree! I think this is going to be another Juicy Psychmelon.
