So I was working my way up the ladder today and accidentally stumbled across an almost full-proof counter to face hunters. It occurred because I was watching Family Guy while I was playing, and wound up getting distracted (that will make sense in a moment).
First a little background on face hunters: Most people play cancer.. I mean face hunter for a few reasons, one of the key one's being that, win or lose, the matches are generally quick. If the matches are quick and you have a fair win rate (even 60%) you will move up quickly and gain gold faster. This is where the Eureka moment occurs.
There I was, watching Family Guy, and while I was distracted a couple of my turns ran out. Suddenly - BOOM! I had won the game. Simply by slowing down their cancerous play and letting each of my turns run to it's full extent, the average face hunger concedes about 5-6 turns in. I'd say half of my face hunter games end with an early concession now. All of you should try it!
As usual with your decks, I'm loving this one. It definitely takes a bit of finesse and patience, but once I got a feel for what the deck can do I started playing at about 60% win rate (up to rank 9 so far). I had a general question for you, what do you think of swapping Dr. Boom for Sneed's Old Shredder? I realize we are losing a mana tempo wise but my thought process is:
a. Eliminates all BGH targets in deck (I know Dr. Balanced bots still make a nice swing but not having the body hurts sometimes)
b. Gives us an extra late game silence target so we can safely drop our Ysera
I'm a big fan of a lot of the new cards but to me this one seems like a bit of a cop-out where Bliz is essentially saying:
"We know face hunter is annoying, and people hate it, but it's our most newbie friendly deck and too many people like it to remove it. Thus, we'll add the new hunter card in the face hunter category as something that is essentially useless to the deck but with an effect that seems like it is useful and no one will notice."
I can't entirely blame them but I feel like they could have targeted the mid-range hunter with a healthy card instead :/
I really think you should acknowledge that you made this deck from xdaniraptorx's Midrange Hunter Guide, the only difference is you swapped out the Sludge Belcher for a second Houndmaster.
I'm really enjoying this deck, Shaman has always been my favorite class and this works pretty well in the current meta, the one change I made is swapping out Dr. Boom for Sneed's Old Shredder so we completely avoid having BGH targets
Yeah it will be awesome when we get our full dragon set :) I like sunfury actually, she is a nice two drop in general and her effect comes in handy vs face hunters after they silence a belcher. I actually swapped out MC tech for a recombobulator for when people silence tirion, it almost always gives ragnaros :)
You're right. The original reasoning was to have a non-clearable board presence early game that was a dragon. I made some changes based on the feedback, I swapped out Hammer of Wrath with a Zombie Chow, and both Faerie Dragon with Sunfury Protector and Mind Control Tech. Made it to rank 4. Trying to decide if I want to put in -1 Sunfury Protector and +1 Muster for Battle, it doesn't really fit the deck but people often waste time trying to clear the 1/1's in fear of Quartermaster

Thanks again for another quality deck!

I would say the Cabal Shadow Priest would be the best tech card to swap

At the moment [card] Prophet Velen[/card] only has a place in a shadow priest deck, and for Vol'jin you'll want to run holy smite, which as the OP said there isn't really room for in this deck. You might find this one more to your liking http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/208154-s12-legend-shattered-shadows-updated

Excellent deck! It's so good actually that I swapped out Loatheb for Mimiron's Head and Archmage Antonidas for Blingtron 3000 just for the entertainment value and it's still winning :)

I like the pyro idea, you may want to swap out for a second equality with him

It's hard to replace him because he's part of the decks card engine, up to you, you can of course use Kobold Geomancer
