It's basically a better Annoy-o-Tron, and that card saw a fair amount of play. Divine shield + taunt on a super low cost minion is incredibly frustrating to deal with. The reduced health doesn't mean much in this case because it's the divine shield that's the challenge to get through. Edit: it's also a better version of Argent Squire, which see's play to this day.

Does this mean that minions such as Blazecaller or Fire Plume Phoenix will heal you for their battlecry damage, or is that ability not attributed to them directly?

Wow, there were some genuinely great cards shown. I love the conditional "if X, cast this again" cards, as their a bit more skill intensive than the usual RNG fiesta. Also, we might actually get a minion based mage deck with a new elemental archetype built around Frost Lich Jaina!

The way this is worded means that it only affects the players side of the board, not your opponents.

It'll be interesting to see how Coldarra Drake interacts with the new mage hero power from the death Knight hero card.

Give this taunt and it's actually pretty great. This seems like it might even push sparring partner into viability (in Wild).

Entirely dependant on the amount of freeze effects Shaman has access to, and even then it's probably bad. Good weapons generally have the characteristic of being able to kill your opponents minions on curve, yet this requires you to combo with another card to do even that.
