So after pretty much a week of GvG being released lots of people have been testing out new ways to play Shaman or old ways with some nice new additions. One thing that I want to know peoples opinions on is if Shamans were given more power, stayed about the same or are worse off now then before GvG. Also I am curious as to what other Shaman players find is the strongest deck archetype from Aggro,Mech,Midrange and Control. Currently I have tried a Control Shaman but I don't think the meta is right for it right now so I will save it for later but at the moment im running a Mech Midrange deck and a more classic Midrange deck with some nice new additions making it a little stronger then before but I really do not know which one performs better right now. If you have anything you want to say please leave a comment I would love some feedback on this topic.
If anyone is curious as to my current decks ill leave them below, feel free to leave some feedback on them as well I don't think they are perfect yet.
Obviously it's still too early to say anything definitive, but I think it's helped shaman. GvG introduced a bunch of mechs, while giving shaman one of the best cards that interacts with mechs(Powermace), then it gave us a solid control tool in crackle, a solid mech in zap-o-matic, and a solid legendary in Neptulon. Even if the other 3 cards end up being dead cards, 4/7 ain't half bad imo.
However, GvG is probably going to make priest the most popular class and the match-up doesn't seem to have gotten easier, so that could be a problem. But it's still early and a brand new shaman could appear that doesn't have such a difficult match-up vs priest. So I think it made shaman stronger as a class, but it'll make it a less popular choice.
Yeah Priests are very solid atm I got a bunch of their cards from packs so I have been playing them a bit and they could easily be one of the top classes which makes Shamans cry. Hopefully someone can make up a new innovative deck that switches up some matchups around preferably priest so we can fight them better because sticking with pretty much the same Midrange deck as pre GvG wont help us too much against Priest.
I've been playing Elemental Lords Control. I've dabbled in mech and murloc shaman, but I like the control more. Every game I've lost so far has been because of misplays I've made. I'm currently rank 13 and climbing. We'll see how well I do above rank 10. I think it has the tools to when against any deck. In respect to aggro I have double vitality totem and there are enough burn spells to just burst the opponent for 20+ damage. Interestingly enough, after GvG, I feel like doomhammer is my weakest card. The style usually does well against priest, as well, as it doesn't rely on getting there health low and it has too many late game threats for their answers and clears the board quite well. My biggest problem has been the powered up midrange demonlock deck that pumps out big creatures. They often get just out of range of my removal, but I don't see those very often.
I've been playing aggro mech shaman and it's going very well, the burst you can drop with this deck is insane. It isn't hard countered by any other deck in the current meta and makes priest one of the easier matchups. Jeeves solved any problems with card draw and running out of steam, it's the strongest boost to aggro decks in GvG.

Interesting deck, would definitely be interested in hearing how it does at higher ranks. Looks kinda like a control deck in the same sense as warrior control.
Yeah ive been playing a sorta anti aggro Shaman deck and it works like a charm, Ever since GvG any class can pull off a bs mech aggro deck so I think until the meta slows down more something sorta anti aggro but still with late game to compete with no aggro is the way to go plus we got a few good additions to help pull that off.
this is the deck came up with the idea today after facing too many aggressive decks and so far I am 6-1 and the one loss was pretty close and was lost due to bad draws for me and a super lucky 1 in 15 chance topdeck from my opponent.
Powermace is much better than Stormforged Axe. The extra attack point and the lack of overload both make a world of difference. I probably wouldn't run it in a deck without mechs, but it's an excellent card.
I like powermace however it is only really great when in a Mech deck but Doomhammer is great for any deck really so its all good in the end but a cheaper weapon to fit any decktype would have been pretty interesting also something like give a friendly minions 2/2 on death would be interesting to buff totems or anything but then it might be op.
