.....Playing today in EU, from rank 11 4 stars with another player that was on level 10. We both played Shamans and he was overwhelming me , and then, just before he had an easy lethal, he conceded!
I added him and he told me that "....I thought it was good to concede, due to the fact that I was already level 10 myself, so decided to do some good..."
I thanked him, gave me him the appropriate acknowledgement of his move, and decided to make the same in the future.
I can remember when it first time happened to me when I was at rank 1 and a legend player conceded when he had lethal, added me and asked me how much stars I have now :D I never thought that there are people like this and it never happened to me again.
On the other side - when I am at dumbster legend ranks , face a player from rank 1 I instant concede just because it happened to me this one time...
Today the new matchmaking should avoid it but I still faced legend palyers at rank 1 few days ago - they never conceded and I don't get it.. If you are at dumbster between 3000-8000 : please concede against palyers from rank 1!!!
I remember my first legend run' my opponent conceded to give me that final star' I was absolutely devastated. It just felt like I endured all that stress and anxiety and in the end I didn't earn my card back' I got it given. This sounds silly I know but it's just how my mind works. Had to make the grind again just to prove I could do it haha.
I feel you. That's why I don't concede at legend rank vs my Rank 1 opponent. He has to earn it himself!
I don't think that's the "mean" thing to do and conceding is the "nice" thing to do. It gives you a sense of accomplishment. That's why I also don't make mistakes on purpose when playing vs children either :p

Doesn't that take away from the point of becoming legend?
I mean, surely the point is to beat the opposition and have the required skill. What value would an sports gold medal have, if you got it because the best guy just said "You take this, I've won here before"?
When I play ridiculous decks and cheese opponents, I try to do the same. I already have the satisfaction of making my meme decks work and my expectations when playing those decks are incredibly low. This of course goes out the window of my opponent is roping every turn, playing aggro, exceptionally greedy (honestly annoys me way more than aggro ever could), etc.

Maybe it's a different thing at rank 10 though.
Loved this comment ^^^
I never take it easy against new players or children in games that I play, either... Gives them thick skin and shows them what to strive for.

maybe it is a difference with a player who is in rank 1 for the first time and never hit legend before..
but in general I think that a player at rank 1 has deserved it to be legend and has the skill anyway and everyone of us who has reached legend several times, has been in a situation where you are at rank 1 for about 5 hours up and down may it be because of rng or facing counter decks and this is just horrible (not sure if you know).
So when I am in dumbster legend, playing a meme deck for fun, not trying to hit top 200 anyway - I will always concede against rank 1 players.

If they have the skill already then why don't they put in that work for the final rank? And if you start running into a meta that counters your deck, you should obviously switch up decks. RNG and coming up with a counter deck is part of the game. If it's already a lot of trouble getting past rank 1 then it obviously shows that no, getting handed legend over isn't good enough.

That's the good with the new ladder system.
New ladder system - old problems ... still hitting people with legendary card back sitting at rank 16-15 to do easy quests ...
Nevertheless good move from the samaritan!
We need more ppl like him!
