This is because Warlock at least is fast (it will either win or lose within ~8 minutes max); the warrior has 20 counters and 20 deck clears and it will take 20 minutes to "win" by practically ..fatigue; i.e. it's not just annoying: it's a waste of time to the playerbase (even if you play it yourself lol..).
OK sure it might be more annoying if you play an aggro deck that relies on minions; e.g. a paladin can probably auto-concede at this point; it's not a joke that every single round for 20 rounds: the paladin is faced with 20 counters and "soft deck clears" by the warrior with no exception.
Bellowing flames and sanitize are just really oppressive to try playing around. They're probably the two best removal spells in standard right now - it's next to impossible to create a board that can survive bellowing flames by turn 3 (usually 4 or 5, even) and sanitize is, in almost all circumstances a board wipe. And then you have to wade through brawl, badlands brawler, and reno and there's just no hope of trying to manage a board anymore.
I think what makes this frustrating is that warrior has two "rest of game" oppressive legendaries in odyn and brann, so it can afford to sit back and do nothing except remove until they get played. Granted, brann is only broken because of astalor, an overpowered card that quite literally quadruples in power once brann is played. Still not sure why that card didn't get nerfed further despite being the most played card in standard.
I’m against promoting shorter games. I like longer games where there’s a back and forth and strategy involved. Playing against MechRogue where it’s finished by turn 4 is piss gameplay and I don’t like it.
I agree that Warrior is a major pain at the moment though. I’m curious how long it’ll take to nerf.
Astalor + Brann is one of the worst decision since Crystal Cave. I hope one day they’ll explain why they did it.
We already tried pandering to the " muhshorter games" people when Control Warrior was originally nerfed and the game started going downhill and bleeding playerbase shortly after. Perhaps let's just try it the other way this time and maybe concede against a warrior when you realise he's control? God knows people do that with cancer pirate rogue already, so this is just the other side of the same coin.

It's not really control though. It is massive unbeatable control for ~20 minutes (at least against most other decks), and then a massive aggro condition at round ~10 (that is approximately inevitable to not occur to most opponent decks) [since a game that lasted for weeks inevitably has the cards needed at the warrior's hand] [in practice the warrior even runs out of cards at that point (it's a "mathematically guaranteed" win condition)].
Yeah they are like i wanna play control and they just remove everything and TNT bomb me, reno me and armor smash my minions. And double armors and bombs. Is like no skill play at least priest have some skills to play and can counter them.
A counter to Control Warrior has already been found in the Death Beetle version of ramp Druid, and we're lucky more people haven't figured it out because i really don't want to go back to Druidstone.
At least now, there are other decks like Sludge Warlock and various DK builds that are competitive.
Ive probably played 400 games this season...and Ive had some BAD losing streaks. Control warrior isnt too strong...you guys are just mad it counters the decks you like playing
Obviously that's a counter. Put steam cleaner in and you might be lucky to have it on hand when he dumps all the plagues. I usually save it for when I can throw bran. Down following turn
Since I made the thread I started doing only achievements because I'm a new account and I find it better to just learn the classes and get gold.
During that process of trying dozens of "deck types"(even if most are bad(it's for achievements)) I realized one thing that seems clear,
the warrior that is a meme right now doesn't like "Big Minion" decks (at least in Wild(as I said: for achivs) but it appears the same deck).
[i.e.: it will obliterate time and again and easily the small flimsy minions of a paladin: but throw it some big massive giant minions and it doesn't know what to do lol..]
I just lost miserably to Reno Warrior with Excavate Rogue. I dont wanna bash anyone but my opponent was possibly the worst player I've ever seen in this game. They milled half of their premium cards simply because they know nothing about strategy, managing resources or planning. Yet they won the game easily because Blizzard knows nothing about balance and printed an absurd amount of board clears and removals for Warrior and on top of that they decided to release giga powercreeped Brann just when Astalor was still in Standard.
I dont know anymore who is in charge of making cards but damn, these people know nothing about balance.

Ive been playing control warrior exclusively this season. diamond ....3 stars away from legend. Hoping to hit legend for the first time this season.
Everyone complaining about Highlander Warrior.
Dude drops in to let group know he’s about to hit legend with said class.
“How not to read the room”
"Im an agent of chaos"
I play mining rogue and against warrior yes is long game but fun is 50-50% the win and ends with fatigue.
