100% agreed. With getting all the other good decks out of their way, they just put the cherry on the top. And with good decks i mean other „solitaire“ decks like Aggro DH and Quest Hunter. Holy cow. And what i don‘t understand too, is that every clas that needed a buff, got a buff. Good for priests, rogues and warlocks. But not a single shaman buff? Have you ever played against a shaman in the last weeks? Or did you even lose to one? Nope? Ask yourself why.
Man don't start with "the data..." because there is no data about how annoying playing against a deck or a particular card is. I remember Tickatus didn't have a good winrate, but he was among the most hated cards with good reason.
Mech mage vomiting stuff on the board with Mech Shark dealing way too much damage isn't fun to play against. Similarly, playing against pirate warrior just spamming pirates to complate a quest, quest hunter making you not want to play (minions), or DH smacking your face just isn't healthy for the game if you want people to keep playing.
I'm baffled that OTK deathrattle priest didn't get touched. Probably a bad winrate, but as a control player I don't bother playing because it's a degenerate strategy that isn't interactive whatsoever.
I remember Tickatus didn't have a good winrate, but he was among the most hated cards with good reason.
Yea and Tickatus was never touched. I called for that fucking card to get deleted every single time it got played, so I'm not defending it.
But blizzard doesn't take player feel into account unless they're nerfing a rogue deck. If they did, Hunter wouldn't be at the top end of nearly every meta in every expansion.

Data is reason, "no fun to play against" is feelings. Yes, feelings can be polarizing when people see only one side (which is often the case when they lose and not when they crush mediocre decks with niche win conditions).
Yes, different decks have different strategies and thus you need to adapt the play style of your deck to the match up. With Mech Mage you know what their plan is and can plan around that.
Yes, there are also rare Trolden moments where the stars align and they have the perfect hand, draw the right cards and then omegacrush you and there is nothing you could have done- Those are rare and your own deck probably has something like that as well. Just that you are playing the deck and due to the rare nature will - surprise - rarely see them. You will also rarely see them from your opponent but with the way our monkey brains work, you will remember those because remembering bad or dangerous moments help us avoid them in the future. Just that our monkey brain has some trouble discerning between a lion trying to chew on our butt and a children's card game.

Feels to me you want to see it nerfed because it counters the decks you like to play (which is obviously control)...
I had a look at your posts. 90% is complaints in the line of control decks not being viable.
There were enough meta's where control decks were the best decks to play.
I thought that mech decks could have gotten a minor nerf since aggro DH was the main deck butchering them, but isn't it no matter what way too soon to talk about any actual proof of why mech mage should get a late nerf? We don't even have 24h of data...
One of the most degenerate decks didn’t get touched with the nerfs today. Mecha shark should have been first on the list. Ridiculous HS
Basically what you are asking is nerf something you don't like to play against ,u don't care about data or win rate ,etc... and by thinking that way you will live 4ever wanting to delete anything you don't like. My advise stop playing games or accept the fact that you won't like everything .cause you vs the majority , majority won't feel you were even there

Yeah, and thank god they don’t balance based on random player emotion. Think about the logic you and others like you are using for a moment.
“I know the card has a terrible winrate, but because it feels bad to play against sometimes, can you please nerf it.”

When you start your entire point with “don’t start with the data,” you are destroying all credibility that will come to follow. For balancing, data is all that matters. Emotion does not.
Even though Mech mage might not have consistent win rate, Mecha Shark should be nerfed tbh.. or make it deal damage to enemy minions only. It is such a card that feels so bad to lose against..... like you can have a good board against the opponent by turn 5 and they can still manage to destroy your board and make you have no way to come back...
Historically, sometimes they nerf cards that make people feed bad, sometimes they don't (such as Tickatus...), so if they have other priorities on their nerf/buff list, they probably care less about these cards...

Getting this out of the way right up front: I don't play mech mage. I dabbled with it early on in the expansion, but lost interest in it pretty quickly. As pointed out, the deck isn't very good. So nerfing the ONE card resembling a win condition is silly, especially because it "feels bad." Weaken mechashark and you kill the deck.

Instead of typing the tired old argument of "winrate" that people like to go to as "haha gotcha", I will bite and actually ask:
What is your suggestion to nerfing Mecha Shark? Can you share some recent game replays of you against a Mech Mage? Maybe if you understand more what is going on maybe you will then understand why "high ranking" players (which is a fancy way of writing down high winrate netdecking players) think Mech Mage is not a problem.
Data goes both ways the way I see. High legend cries for nerfs that aren't a problem on the rest of ladder, yet the majority suffer playing against decks they don't like, because it doesn't matter to the high legend players. Sure some streamers quit, but many players that do good don't quit, while players that get frustrated at lower levels quit, because certain cards they hate don't get nerfed. If the nerfs don't matter to high legend, then why worry if the cards get nerfed to make lower rank players happy.

Personally I don't feel like Mech Mage is a problem, but I do think it could become one depending on the power level of mechs in future sets. Mech Paladin is the most annoying of the mech decks, IMO.

I literally don’t understand why people are calling for nerfs to this. Does it run rampant in bronze or something?
The data has it performing lower than at least 6 decks, in both standard and wild, so the complaints about it don’t seem warranted at all.

Cause mech mage only wins against bad players

Just rank up and you'll stop playing against the deck altogether, because it's not good.
mech mage and hand buff paladin broke the game.
