Again Lama, I agree that with the cards priest will be using in the meta, Handlock will still beat them. I'm just saying they now have the ability to have a favorable matchup vs them if they spec their deck around it. It was already a much closer matchup than many would admit and handlock didn't really get any extra goodies (although that 3 dmg bomb probably is better than soulfire for em cause discard). Potentially Mal could prove difficult for priests as well and would likely have to be mind-controlled or bombed to be dealt with. I completely agree with you about miracle though. I'm guessing there will be a slightly modded miracle now around other combos with a better early game.
Don't worry guys, Blizzard will never allow a control class to dominate the meta because games will become too slow and turn off casual players. Blizzard will tolerate Huntards and Zoolocks because these are fast and easy and allow noobs to feel good about themselves, but archetypes like Miracle which are hard to use and result in boring games for the opponent? Nerf and nerf till the ninth level of hell!
I didn't mind Miracle MU. They were never long games. Most ended on round 9. Vs Priests they always grind to round 20+.
Exactly, and yet that was already sufficient for Blizzard to come down hard with the nerf hammer on the basis that Miracle decks were not fun to play against. Imagine how much faster they will act if Priests with their 20-30 minute games start dominating the meta.
Miracle is not dead at all. They nerfed actioneer because too powerful with all the spare parts. One turn won't change anything against priests, which are just too slow. Miracles wil still wreck them. Did you heard that leeroy was nerfed and that it is still one of the best tournament deck ?
So don't underestimate Mriacle either.
The Auctioneer nerf was just a small part of the picture. The more important nerfs are (1) making it easier to hit stealthed minions and (2) creating an entire minion category (troggs) and TWO heroes for the sole purpose of penalising spell-heavy classes.
I definitely agree that a plain text reading of the GvG cards suggests Priest will be broken. We will have to see if it actually works out that way. I sure hope not as I think it's the most boring class to both play and play against.

Amaz dont agree with u! and he's me hero so shhhhhhh! xD
Watching Amaz play priest in tournaments can be exciting. Alas I am not Amaz, and in ladder format it is just ZZZZZzzzzzZZZZzzzZZZ
Pre GvG, it was tough for a warrior to beat a priest (that knew what he/she was doing), but I actually think that even both have improved with GvG, warriors have actually improved in the match up (so far). Reynad's version of the warrior running 2X Shieldmaiden along with 2X Bomb Lobber gives the warrior added board presence mid game that it was missing before. Shieldmaiden can force the priest to use a Shadow Word: Death before he/she would really like to which can really open up the end game for the warrior.

Concur re most boring to play against, but no way is it the most boring to play with, especially if you're an FTP player like me who never gets to play with some cards, Thoughtsteal, et al. allows me to play with them (not to mention the LOLZ @ the rage-emotes/rage-friend requests from my opponent).
There is not a single card from gvg that id put in the zetalot deck... I thought about it for a while there is just no room for improvement... Unless you are talking about an aggro shadowform mech deck, I dont see how priest are stronger now. They are gonna get beat by warriors and pally.

Yeah, but it has also been the best class by miles before, and i don't know if you played back then but i can tell you for a fact that it was far more painful then this recent hunter trend.
Garbage. Priest was certainly the most whined about class by miles for a time during beta, but it was never the best. It had an extremely well-deserved reputation as the "noob-stomping" class back then - incredible win rate against new and poor players, nothing special against people who knew what they were doing.
God I hate priest decks. It's a class built for asshats who don't want to climb, but are happy just to hang around griefing and BMing people at lower ranks. The GvG expansion definitely makes them worse. Wish they'd all go to hell and be forced to spend an eternity playing each other. I'm trying to climb out of ranks 20-15 and the ladder down there is infested with them.
IF you control the OP early game with clerics, blademasters, cultists, and power word shield, dodge the gimmicky inner fire combos, come back after CoH clears, survive the mid game cabals and shadow words, then, if you don't have burst finish, they just Mind Control whatever big threat you have left. Even if you have a removal option, they play back your own threats courtesy of Thought Steal, run a second Mind Control and sometimes a faceless too... Get through all that, and they win the fatigue battle. Hate 'em; hate, hate, hate 'em.

Salty? Hell yes, I'm salty,
I feel very few priest games actually go this way, but I do know that a lot of people dislike them for thoughtsteal shenanigans.
You need to run burst combo decks vs Priest, it's always been the best way to beat them. I have been beating them consistently with Mid-Range Hunter running double Stranglethorn Tigers and Leeroy.

Yeah - I'd believe that. I'm weird in that I try to ladder without being just another Hunter or Zoo player. I prefer Druid, Shaman, or Paladin. Note that I say "try" - I usually bounce around between ranks 20 to about 13 over a season as I futz around with my decks. Priest owns my crap in that band. I have tons of legendaries, but not Gromm, Yesera or Leeroy.
Last night I did beat a Priest using a Druid deck put together around a lot of 2,3, and 4-cost cards with Rag and FoN-Roar to finish.
bit double posting but i think it does not gone cause any huge issues :D
priest's is no different from any other class, you need to learn their strengths and weaknesses and use this knowledge to your advantage, by baiting and probing and knowing when to controll or when to attack, many players are very inpatient and throw a sheep/frog on any thing that moves on the board with out considering what can happen later on in the game.
you can make a cheat sheet for each class, ie priest: weakness 4attack mobs, rush decks or handlocks druid ramp or creature control decks are very hard for a priest to deal with .. 2 mana removal spell 0-3 attack, 3 mana removal spell 5+ attack, 4 mana soulpirest + Aoe heal 5 mana 2dmg 2 heal aoe 6 mana a priest can steal a 2 attack mob or 5 dmg 5 heal DD spell, Aoe removal spell lightbomb 8 mana a priest will be able to steal a 4attack with combo ( if the priest have the shrinking combo, and have not used it to trade favourably wich usually is the case ) 10 mana priest will be able to steal any attack mob..
and then on each match write down the cards that you encounter.. most likely it will be one of the hipster decks that are currently popular on forums :)
hope it gives you some ideas how to give your self an additional % chanse of winning a game :D
Good post and list. I'd also add: 9 mana steal (Sylvanas+SWD combo)
lmao OP is such a troll. what a ridiculous thread. what makes it better is in his other posts you can see him bashing on others for doing the same things hes doing here. i'd have a 80% winrate too if i was playing in rank 20s. too bad good players don't even start the season at rank 20...
I have had plenty of time to evaluate all the priest cards and tinker around with my deck and the main conclusion i've come to is Priest is actually WORSE off in GvG than in nax. I don't think its pre-nax levels of bad but GvG did little to help priests weaknesses and alot to flood the class with even more situational and combo oriented pieces. The biggest problems I see:
1) Mech does not have any positive differentiator for priest. The lack of good 1 drops and the same exact 2-4 drops as everyone else means trading and a hero power that can kill minions is way more valuable than a heal.
2) Spider tank gives one of priests main differentiators to every class and makes Dark Cultist Redundant. To some extent Mech Synergy is more important than the heal
3) Velen's Chosen, and Shrinkmiester are combo pieces. Wild Pyro Combos, soulpriestess combos, shrinkmiester combos, decks just can't run this many combo pieces and be effective
4) Light bomb, and shrinkmiester are situational and hard to pull off. Cards that compliment many of the new additions are expensive (Cabal Shadow Priest, Holy Nova), or situational (Shadow madness). Light bomb often sits around doing nothing in your hand
5) The game has been flooded with effective 4/x and 5/x minions that give really poor SWD value or are just unkillable with out 6-8 mana combo in your hand.
Anyway, thats my 2 cents, i think priest will be lucky to not slump into trash tier by the time GvG settles. While people are still high on gimicky hard to pull off power plays priest will get played up but once the meta settles its going to look bad

Antique Healbot made Shadowform much more viable.. as you said, a hero power that kills stuff is good. im hovering around rank 10/9 with a shadowform deck.
I could never get my SF deck past 15 (I abandoned it pre-GvG), can you post your list? Thanks.

I don't even need shrinkmisters. Priest with velen's chosen and light of the narru.. Strong As hell.

I've had success with removing Cairne Bloodhoof for Vol'jin and Defender of Argus for Piloted Shredder. I feel Shrinkmeister is too inconsistent for the type of agression/tempo Zetalot's deck can put out.
The point if adding 120 cards to the game was to spawn new decks not just tweak old decks by a card or two
Prevoius Archetypes will remain though, there will just be new ones that form in addition.
