A fundamental problem of the game is that you are paying to "collect" things that aren't real. With normal trading card games you have physical copies that you can trade/sell/do whatever. Here, you will lose everything if you either get banned or if Blizz decides to permanently shut down the servers.
I would be all in for a monthly paid subscription model that gave you access to all cards.
Lmao....aka: "I want to be toxic without any repercussions."

How is that different to other digital media? I don't 'own' my cards in fifa either. I've bought digital films that I lose if the company shuts up shop. You're acting like this is a Hearthstone thing. It isn't it's the risk of digital media. Physical items have different risks. You can't misplace your cards here and if your house burns down you don't lose them.
There are obvious pros and cons whatever you buy but people seem to completely ignore all of it when they want to complain.
If I get a ban from EA, I lose my entire account, 11 years of ultimate team 'down the drain'. But then it's like saying if I get caught driving without insurance and get a ban then there's no point taking the test and getting a license. There are always risks associated with pretty much everything.
So, I've been around Hearthstone since the beginning, and one thing that's never changed is that any time something costs money, the floodgates open, and a deluge of complaints descend upon every hearthstone forum in existence. I have never understood the juxtapositioning of "I don't want to spend money" with "I want to be competitive." These two philosophies simply do not go together.
This is also true in other forms of competition. If you play tennis, for example, hard work and practice will get you most of the way there, but players who spend on the best rackets, the best shoes, and the best coaching will have a significant advantage over those who do not. My personal belief is that what SOME of these perennial complainers really mean is "I don't want to spend money, but I DESERVE to be competitive." This way of thinking belongs in the trash can with other phrases of the entitled such as "I don't want to study, but deserve an A+" and "I don't want to work, but deserve to be wealthy."
You are NOT entitled to free gaming, and if that's what you desire, there are plenty of games where you can do just that (including some of the game modes of Hearthstone, by the way) not to mention that there are legitimate players who grind daily and DO NOT spend money, but instead sacrifice their time, in order to get what they need to stay competitive.
So, in conclusion, if you don't want to put in the time OR the money, then what are you even complaining about?
TL/DR: You can't be competitive without sacrifice, so if you aren't sacrificing anything, stop complaining about it being unfair.
Dude your entitled as all out? Quoting tennis? How’s your yacht.
F2P gaming takes sacrifice. It takes time and effort to build up collections over time without putting in money. Can blizzard make us pay sure they can. But the point is they were a very community oriented company before activision.
In the end this reward system is not that bad if your willing to put the same time in. We are just hurt because you can no longer log in for twenty min do your daily and get out. The daily’s and weeklys take a lot more time and effort. So for the casual gamer. Which I would say is 99% of hearthstones player base is going away.
I have been playing since alpha. Alpha. I’ve been through terrible changes. But casual play for hearthstones bee the way I’ve chosen to play for the last year. And through casual gameplay I’ve been able to grab 6-7k gold an expansion on twenty minutes a day.
The issue isn’t driving f2p away it’s driving casuals away. Not everyone wants to go through a battle pass. This will kill hearthstone. M
Well, you have Blizzard making a game that needs to make money, And then you have Activision, changing the rules and implementing a battle pass, XP system that's too hard to calculate. and simply put getting really greedy! Deciding you have to work twice as hard to get the same amount of gold! How does this SERVE a tennis player?
Old rewards: 12.5 gold per hour New rewards 6.2 gold per hour

How far down the drain this site has fallen? Any click-bait title producing looser who has a need to boost his ego by explaining how people should feel about this game can now become a moderator?
If someone isn't allowed to post their opinion about something on an online forum, where should they go?
Everyone is allowed to think what they want, agree or disagree with points made, but what's with all the toxic comments?
If someone thinks Blizzard/Activision is too greedy and their business model doesn't suit them anymore, that's fine, you may stop playing the game to show your dissatisfaction. But the problem is, these people keep playing, and keep posting about how they hate the company and the game... which just makes the whole community worse off, because these comments keep pouring back in every time something happens.
Remember that thing that happened with Blitzchung and losing his winnings? Everyone said they were going to boycott HS and the game was going to die... but here we are, it's still going on. And even he's still playing the game, despite that.
The game is the way it is... pay for it or don't - but don't think Blizzard or HS owes you anything.

You complain about people not being able to express their opinions and toxic comments yet you proceed to bash people who are not happy about Blizzard's actions and repeat the same toxic "call out" to all the haters originally made to stir some good old flame war. Looks like you're being a bit of a hypocrite bruh.

I'm stating that people can argue, but don't be mean to each other for expressing their opinions. And if you don't like something, then please don't spread negativity all over the community out of spite.
If you've got some constructive criticism and want to discuss it, by all means, lay it out and discuss in a meaningful way.
I get what you are trying to say but your example and analogy for tennis doesn't apply in real life. I guess the reason you chose it over any other sport is because one is required to buy his own racket(not always true, you can borrow from others and trust me if you are passionate about the sport they might even end up giving it to you) and shorts/shoes. Overall, one of the few sports that requires that you actually make a rather significant money investment compared to all the rest.
"players who spend on the best rackets, the best shoes, and the best coaching will have a significant advantage over those who do not."
The coaching might just be the only thing that may give you some sort of an advantage but at the end of the day you will succeed only if you are talented and have sponsors to be paying for your career. I have a friend who used to play tennis with me. He sought a pro career in the sport but he came back to his hometown when "the sponsors run out of money". Would the sponsors let go of a tennis player if they saw potential in him? I don't think so. Maybe he was just unlucky. Maybe he was not good enough. No amount of expensive shoes or rackets are going to get you there and no, you can't pay your way to the top of this competitive sport.
I get that you are "giving a jab" at the ones that love complaining. I see people accusing online games for being p2w all the time all while they don't spend time or money, as you put it, to stay relevant within a game. I just ignore them and that is what is best for you to do. It is an element of a generation; they like to put short-term goals that aren't achievable in that time frame then whine and complain and then quit. It is the kind of people I see everyday at the gym; trying things out for months(1 or 2) then I never see them again. I've reached a point where I can tell when someone is going to continue pursuing something better for himself in the long term just by looking at them. Let me tell you, I have yet to be proven wrong...It is sad really...
More on point, "competitive Hearthstone" is something attainable with just time. Take it from someone who has been doing daily quests for years. I reached a point where I don't even know why I still do it. I guess I got addicted. The new rewards system seems to be the final jab for me so I guess it is time I move on.
Is "competitive Hearthstone" really worth it? Not really. I think Hearthstone may just be the very worst for a person seeking a professional career in card games. You are better off trying your money and luck in any of MTGA or even YuGiOh! Duel Links. Hearthstone has reached a point where player decisions make little to no difference on who is going to win. There is just too much RNG that isn't under any players control. Would you trust a game with bringing you food to the table when you can't control the outcome(since it is the outcome that brings the money) and when the barrier for entry is some 13 year old with godly RNG? When you make a game like Hearthstone is sounds like a bad joke when you try and introduce it in the competitive scene.
I think these are more valid questions someone should ask themselves before boarding along the "complain train". Complaints aren't always unfounded. People have been asking for many years for an auto-squelch feature for Hearthstone and Blizzard has yet to do anything about it. In my years of playing the game I've come to the realization that the emotes for this game have come to the point of being overly toxic. Can you imagine? A game with so much polish ended up turning one of its features into one of the most toxic forms of communicating with strangers in an online video game. What is the company doing about it? Releasing cosmetic iterations for the same heroes we have been listening for so many years while changing the voice line for them.
I veered off topic a lot but I believe I covered many points that you tried to.
What he said was: Money doesn't make you a better player. If the game doesn't allow you to play and achieve stuff by your own ability so the game has become pay to win. Like old Mafia Boxing, wich the best Mobster with more bets won even if the favorite fighter was better than anyone there. Or they lose, or they die. This is more like what is going now...we played the game for years, with a simple system that allowed us good players to not only achieve good ranks but also achieving good rewards as a token of apretiation of our own quality plays.
Now, u just another bud like anyone else, and actually worse, 'cause now many kids and ppl with too much free time (losers) will play this game for 10/11/12 hours straight using shit, meme decks and worse stuff to achieve the same rewards as good ppl. It's like a school that gives a Prize for each team that participate in a game, just for the participation, not only for the winners, with an excuse that everyone is a winner, they just have to get along with their shit and it's okay.
Everyone is not a winner, we have to accept that to move on in life. This is not only the essence of survival but the capitalism itself, same capitalism that had change this game to worse to achieve more bad players in general.
Many good players doesn't need to play more than 3hours a day to compete, they have the brains to it, wich lead them to play less than the average/bad players. So we don't have to pay for these guys, it's not fair at all and it's stupid. Its like to suffer in my own country for smth that happened in Africa and I have no resource or whatsoever to do anything, but the average joe says : They are suffering, why won't you suffer with them to show empaty? What?
Same stuff happening here, we have to get along with the bad players and mix ourselves to be like them. This kind of inclusion isn't good, u can see that by what is going on with the refugees building organized crimes in european countrys.
So, I've been around Hearthstone since the beginning, and one thing that's never changed is that any time something costs money, the floodgates open, and a deluge of complaints descend upon every hearthstone forum in existence. I said it in another post, I'll say it here. The ability to play for free is to help, not exploit. But like real life welfare, there are those that do just that, exploit it.

What the everliving fuck of mental gymnastics led you to this conclusion?
Not everyone wants to be NFL levels of professional. Most just want to have fun, and we can do it in pretty much any other game without spending $150 every three months.
Hearthstone being unaffordable is why the play-rate for the game has been declining so hard.
Lmao....aka: "I want to be toxic without any repercussions."

Moderators of this site are here to protect blizzard interests, don't expect to argue with them, they are just doing their jobs. Badly btw
