posted a message on The new progression and reward system initial thoughts

To put it simply they are trying to regulate the amount of gold you can make by reducing the amount made on a daily basis while spreading that amount over time, all while motivating their players to play for a longer duration and on a daily basis. It is a natural occurrence of Activision Blizzard and to be quite honest it has been a long time coming. I am actually amazed it lasted for so long but finally they are showing their teeth.

Ask yourself this, why would a company completely revamp a system that was working just fine and was particularly good for casual F2P players? If it ain't broken why fix it?

Their tavern passes and their battlegrounds (and their duels soon) were not very appealing to me. I didn't find a need or a reason to buy that terribly priced tavern pass and probably a lot of others as well. They wanted to have players buy it and not ignore it like I did so they created this system(to manufacture a need for it) that gives "XP" instead of gold so you can get stuff that they picked for you in their "XP progress trail". They removed your ability to choose how you use your in-game currency and at which speed you accumulate it while making you argue with each other on whether this new system is better than the old.

If you ask me they are doing great as a company. This new system though is much worse in many aspects that go by the average math enthusiast.

Whether you continue to invest time or money in this game is entirely up to you.

Depends on what you consider a "full collection". I have been f2p for years. Classic collection is now basically free dust for me and I got plenty from the set that are duplicates.

posted a message on Some of you don't deserve what you think you deserve

I get what you are trying to say but your example and analogy for tennis doesn't apply in real life. I guess the reason you chose it over any other sport is because one is required to buy his own racket(not always true, you can borrow from others and trust me if you are passionate about the sport they might even end up giving it to you) and shorts/shoes. Overall, one of the few sports that requires that you actually make a rather significant money investment compared to all the rest.

"players who spend on the best rackets, the best shoes, and the best coaching will have a significant advantage over those who do not."

The coaching might just be the only thing that may give you some sort of an advantage but at the end of the day you will succeed only if you are talented and have sponsors to be paying for your career. I have a friend who used to play tennis with me. He sought a pro career in the sport but he came back to his hometown when "the sponsors run out of money". Would the sponsors let go of a tennis player if they saw potential in him? I don't think so. Maybe he was just unlucky. Maybe he was not good enough. No amount of expensive shoes or rackets are going to get you there and no, you can't pay your way to the top of this competitive sport.

I get that you are "giving a jab" at the ones that love complaining. I see people accusing online games for being p2w all the time all while they don't spend time or money, as you put it, to stay relevant within a game. I just ignore them and that is what is best for you to do. It is an element of a generation; they like to put short-term goals that aren't achievable in that time frame then whine and complain and then quit. It is the kind of people I see everyday at the gym; trying things out for months(1 or 2) then I never see them again. I've reached a point where I can tell when someone is going to continue pursuing something better for himself in the long term just by looking at them. Let me tell you, I have yet to be proven wrong...It is sad really...

More on point, "competitive Hearthstone" is something attainable with just time. Take it from someone who has been doing daily quests for years. I reached a point where I don't even know why I still do it. I guess I got addicted. The new rewards system seems to be the final jab for me so I guess it is time I move on.

Is "competitive Hearthstone" really worth it? Not really. I think Hearthstone may just be the very worst for a person seeking a professional career in card games. You are better off trying your money and luck in any of MTGA or even YuGiOh! Duel Links. Hearthstone has reached a point where player decisions make little to no difference on who is going to win. There is just too much RNG that isn't under any players control. Would you trust a game with bringing you food to the table when you can't control the outcome(since it is the outcome that brings the money) and when the barrier for entry is some 13 year old with godly RNG? When you make a game like Hearthstone is sounds like a bad joke when you try and introduce it in the competitive scene.

I think these are more valid questions someone should ask themselves before boarding along the "complain train". Complaints aren't always unfounded. People have been asking for many years for an auto-squelch feature for Hearthstone and Blizzard has yet to do anything about it. In my years of playing the game I've come to the realization that the emotes for this game have come to the point of being overly toxic. Can you imagine? A game with so much polish ended up turning one of its features into one of the most toxic forms of communicating with strangers in an online video game. What is the company doing about it? Releasing cosmetic iterations for the same heroes we have been listening for so many years while changing the voice line for them.

I veered off topic a lot but I believe I covered many points that you tried to.

    Just my two cents.

Posted this 12 hrs ago but since no one replied within the first 30 minutes I figured I would try the next day.

Deleted any friend requests since then. Most people finish theirs sooner than later
