So many insanely powerful effects this expansion that are spread around single cards and not just around the build arounds like the Old Gods, Jade Golems, Quests, ect is really refreshing and nice. It's giving me GvG vibes.
How do you think they will sell packs after Dustwood?
RoS was the last low / average power x-pack. Uldum, dramatically stronger, DoD insane (maybe more than K&C and KotFT), even AoO, but this one in uneven way.
Cards are breaking many basic rules in order to completely shift the game from curvestone to swingstone. No way back from this.
Personally, I don't mind powercreeps that much, but what I dislike are idiotic cards that obstruct other players... with no other purpose (not even more winning), but to feed ego of toxic players. Like current iteration of Priest who play bunch of annoying, uncontrollable rng, 'can't play around' disgusting garbage. Most of the time this Priest was rather upper t3 / low t2 deck in AoO, but was played by insane amount of people (current win -rate: 48%, play-rate 12% (3rd)), because many HS players want to screw other players more than just win a HS game (plus in their brain: screwing will lead to win). Blizzard know games feed ego, so such people are a perfect aim for their marketing department. :)
As somone who has played almost exclusively Priest for the last year I can tell you it has nothing to do with ‘screwing other players’. It is that as Hearthstone has morphed into Swingstone with tons of swingy OP cards, Priest is the only class that has a chance against a wide variety of decks. The win rate is not so great but at least there is a chance of pulling out a victory instead of auto conceding against 50% of classes. It is clear that Scholomance is going to turn the swingy up to 11 which some people are going to love but I think it is going to be a total s*itshow.
High power level is a good, but in time, they will arise broken decks and everything will become so boring. So power level is good, but when power level is too high, it Is not so good.

I'm not saying all Priest players are toxic (I played it a lot...), but current rework of the class is an ugly garbage. it feels low to play it. Res Priest is always toxic (many people play it even after Barnes nerf and t4 status). Mind Blast Priest, for example, is not...

All due respect, but current Galak Priest is a whole lot less RNG-based than, say, every freakin Mage deck out there. "Oh, good. Another no minion mage deck. Gee, I wonder what secret he just played." Zzzzzzzzzz.
But I'm with you: Res Priest is an abomination. Most obnoxious deck in HS (with the possible exception of every moronic mill deck).
Surprise, Surprise, the 2nd expansion of the year rises the Bar once again and introduces a bunch of new toxic OTK decks, along with more Mana cheating and more powerful Aggro decks than ever before.

When the power level is too high, it doesn't mean that it will be a good expansion. On contrary is a risk, when power level is too high the risk is to have 2/3 decks overpowered and people get boring easier.
But sure, it is also very bad when the new set sucks and people are not playing it. The best solution is an average set. In any case, don't be too hyped, the game is still the same, it is a card game. Last expansion people were so hyped and it sucked. We will see.
I have thoughts, but I'm still laughing from when someone suggested that Descent of Dragons had a higher power level than Kobolds and Catacombs or Knights of the Frozen Throne.
When I get over my PTSD from Raza/Anduin Machine Gunnery and Cubed Doomguards flying at my face, I'll share my thoughts for this set.

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
Ok, I've finally caught my breath back . . . Jesus, thought I was going to die.
The Priest/Warlock duals are interesting, soul fragments look reasonable without being absolutely mandatory for every Warlock and Demon Hunter deck for the next year and a half (which is good), and I'm cautiously optimistic for warrior and shaman having some interesting stuff to do.
Having said all that, I have been around since the beta, and I've noticed a few trends in this game. And the number one rule which has been true from day one is "when thou observest a creature which hath 1/3 in stats for a singleth mana, taketh thou notice, because shitteth is about to hitteth the fan". We have not one, but two 1/3 for 1's which stand to be the most ubiquitous cards for their respective classes out of this set.
If you think I'm exaggerating, keep in mind that the 1/3 rule is not just applied to the nerfed or HoF'ed Mana Wyrm and Northshire Cleric, but the magnetic mech, and even the Dire Mole, which only sported the Beast tag and no text. All of these 1/3's have, at some point, been definitive in one meta or another.
Now we see a 1/3 that supplies 2 soul fragments and a 1/3 with a spell damage attached (in a set that seems to be pushing spell damage more so than usual). Because the spell damage guy is in mage, it is not guaranteed that he will see that much use, but never bet against the 1/3's.

In fairness, people also complain about getting bored when the power level isn't high enough (as we noted during one or two of the last few expansions).
So the moral of the story: you people are going to bitch and moan no matter what. High power level, low power level, im pretty sure none of you will be satisfied. The worst thing this game can do is bore you. So far, this set looks the opposite of boring. Stop complaining

As a player who loves farming the large number of Priest players in Wild casual with OTK combo.....Mindrender Illucia was very much a screw you. I guess it’s back to Standard as Wild casual will be a Priest stomping ground now.
I’m not saying Priest isn’t good enough to beat OTK combo, it’s just most players don’t focus or tech their decks against it. Now all they need is a single card to obliterate it.

Thats actually the state we are in right now, people complaining its boring and not enough cards and options to OTK somebody.
Yet, as I already said "Enjoy the Calm before the Storm", despite the lack of cards I find this meta the most enjoyable in quite some time, but all is about to change and turned upside down once again. Nerfs will come, Salt will be all over the place...
But ok, I'am willing to wait and see what happens.....HS has a notorious track record for becoming annoying more towards the end of the year, at the very least starting with the 3rd expansion.
And I know WIld players are used to the most insane toxic stuff, but that's exactly the reason I'am not playing Wild...

all this expansion reminds me of is....YU-GI-OH duel academy.
LOL ... i miss good old days when almost half expansion cards are based around one or two archetypes
jade,nzoth,cthun,kingsbane,dmh

Galakrond Priest is gonna be soo obnoxious when hero power gets the 2 mana 1/3 legendary that swaps hands/decks.
