im shaman main and i jumped with optimistic and confidence that shaman could have some chance….well at least now shaman is kinda sh*t.
no shudder, no cards that draws spells expect the new primal card.
Shaman has no identity, shaman literally has the biggest identity crisis like priest before the lich king expansion, what i mean is:
too expensive and slow evolve cards.
overload while minimum overload support.
spell damage while having legit 4 spells that can do good direct damage to the face...while overloading you, so you need allot of time to set up and get right cards before dying to Demon hunters.
Small amount of cheap minions to make a aggro deck.
There are few decks that could be possibly be good after maybe days or weeks:
agro overload shaman: even doe there are many complications, this could be achievable somehow by using every combo there is possible.
OTK Shaman: by using the new prime card, if shaman has possibility to stall his oponents, he could get free lighting strikes and lava burst and kill his oponent with malygose.
galagrond could be done but dies to aggros, murlocs could be done but not enough value generation.
so its kinda mishmatch, we need more direct approach now since shaman has lost allot of key cards that could have been really useful now.
like give a legendary that makes shaman immune to overload maybe one turn or give more elementals or buff the spell damage and evolve archtypes.
id give you that, the galagrond balancing was TERRIBLE. but shaman has been under dog for long time now with minimal support .
I am just going to correct you there. Shaman has not been an underdog for a long time - like at all. Shaman broken the meta several times in the recent metas: evolve shaman was, by far, the strongest during the wild/standard event. Galakrond Shaman was so powerful that it had to be nerfed twice. Prior to that aggro shaman was bunkers and Shuderwock shaman broke the game.
If you want to talk about an underdog then lalk about Paladin. Their class identify has been confusing since... well pretty long time.

you are right about that, paladin has been badly dealt with, paladin needs 10 big mac meals for all the suffering. but yeah galagrond and the evolution were shamans BIG HIGHTS but i didnt play allot of the wild era of standard where wild cards got added to standard for Small time because i KNEW it would be cluster f*ck. but im trying to talk about after those changes, after shaman got nerfed twice, it has been kinda difficult to play shaman, but condolenses to paladins
Shaman is suffering from a weak Basic and Classic sets. Classes like Warlock and Mage manage to always hover between ok and strong, whereas Priest (before the recent changes) and Shaman have fluctuated between periods of being useless and broken.

shamans spells are beyond sh*t. also you are absolutly right.

I'd give Shaman a week before someone finds a new deck that works.
I mean, last expansion was basically shamanstone so im happy

YEAH its kinda hurts me to
we need something like :
4 mana 7/7
4 mana 7/7 isnt enough, demon Hunter clears it too easily. we need 3 mana 8/8 that has "cant be targeted by spells or hero"

As a priest main: Hey. First time?

Was Call to Arms Paladin that long ago?
it kinda has been long time
i think mech paladin is meta defying
I'd wait a week or two before passing any judgement.
yeah thats why i said FOR NOW as "at this moment" shaman is crap.
