Does the dust refund apply to the priest cards as well?
Prolly, which means go ahead and craft now a Golden Leeroy and Golden Velen (+epics, rares). I can only free up like 12-13k Dust from the three rotating Sets hope it'll be enough, as the boost you gain from Hall of Fame stuff is significant. (everything counts double)
Honestly kinda sad that they bury Shadow Priest completely, and probably for a very long time, if not forever.
On the one hand, it was getting kind of silly how cards like Shadowform and Velen rarely if ever received any kind of support, and at least you can stop wondering when Priest will ever get a good synergy for those cards again. I wonder if they will undo the nerf for Raza the Chained now, because at least in Wild, it's still potentially a thing.
On the other hand, I'm not really convinced yet that Priest can become a board class. While some of the new cards and changes look promising, I have a feeling that almost everyone will continue seeing Priest as the one-dimensional control class it's been for most of Hearthstone's history.
Of course, it will strongly depend on what cards the class gets with the new set, but these changes affect no Priest decks right now (or rather ends what little hope their was for Combo Priest to have a comeback), and I can't see them create new ones, and for the time being, all that Priest will continue to do is kill minions, summon a bunch of annoying things and resurrect them until you fall asleep.
I REALLY hope that with this change in their design approach, Priest will finally be able to do other things than doing nothing and killing minions. I find it so boring to go against decks that consist of 20+ spells, and almost all of them are ways to remove minions.
As for the rest: Most of it isn't all that impactful. MCTech was rarely used in Constructed, Acolyte mostly felt like a Warrior class, and it's probably fair to remove him, Spellbreaker is a bit of an issue, but also fair, since it was a really strong tech card. Mountain Giant is kinda sad, but I'm sure that they'll add something similar to Warlock soon, considering that the giant is one of the very few cards that profits from Valdris Felgorge.
The big one is of course Leeroy, and... it's ok, I guess. I will miss him, since my dear Quest Hunter is pretty much dead without him (especially with Springpaw, Hallazi and Flark leaving too) but I'm ok with it. I just hope that some of the classes will actually get some sort of replacement.
Bottom line: If you have regular versions of these cards, and craft golden copies, you either 1) get free golden cards if you keep them in your Wild collection after rotation and refunds or 2) can make a small profit when you get the refunds and then dust the golden copies (or normal copies for an even small profit) later. I personally am making golden Velen and Leeroy, which will net me 3200 dust profit, or two free legendaries. We'll see what else I can craft, but already holding on to a golden MG that I got a few months ago for just this reason, that's another free legendary plus 400 dust when I DE and keep my regular copies.
Just a quick question so I don't do anything dumb, I just want to have the golden versions of the cards that are getting hall of famed (NOT GET dust profit after they go to wild). If I have non-golden Leeroy, I disechant that one (I get 400 dust) then I craft the golden version (I get 3200 dust back when he gets in wild) and I get to keep the golden version. I don't lose anything right? I even get a small bonus of 400 dust.
Edit: If I even keep the non-golden Leeroy but still craft the golden one (because I get the best refund as possible, If I have non-golden and golden at the same time I still get the golden refund) I can disechant the non-golden Leeroy when it gets to wild to get 1600 profit?

Guys you can craft every card wich goes to HoF in golden version for max value.
For Example, you will get FULL Dust refund (Leeroy golden 3.6K Dust) + you STILL have the card in your Libary (wild) so you can disenchant Leeroy for additional 1.600 Dust. (Or keep him ofc if you want to play him in wild)
Make sure to disenchant every "normal" Version of the cards, cause Refund only counts for max. 2 copies of a card (Legendaries only 1).
For Example, you have 2 Mountain Giants, disenchant them, craft them in golden Version wait for them to go to Hof and disenchant them again. You will get 2 x 1.600 Refund + 2 x 800 Disenchant.
So, Acolyte of Pain and Spellbreaker literally makes ZERO sense.
Shadowstep, Edwin and Conjurers Calling would have been an absolute necessity.
Conjurer's Calling is an expansion card, so not really a Hall of Fame candidate... It will leave next year. Besides, it hasn't been problematic since the nerf.
I think Acolyte and Spellbreaker are perfect for Hall of Fame, especially Acolyte. Like Azure Drake, they are obvious additions to certain kinds of decks or certain metas. Acolyte is in every deck that wants to draw a lot of cards, and Spellbreaker is silence with good stats, so if there's a lot of silence-worthy minions in the meta, you can add it with no downside.
Since they HoF'ed Leeroy they could have brought back Loatheb to standard. Still to this day probably one of the best card designs in the games history, shares a mana cost with Leeroy and would provide much needed counter play possiblities to the game.

I think its the same, if you do have 2 regular MG's or Shadowform you don't need to dust them, you will get exactly 1k dust either way. (400+400 return + 100+100 from dusting)
If you craft them golden you'll get 1k dust in Profit as well, you pay 1600+1600 , you dust your regular ones for 100+100, and you will get your 3200 investment back + 400 + 400 = 1k Profit.
Same with the Legendarys, rares, commons, if you already have them you don't need do anything.
also I know mountain giant is problematic (probably?) but I feel like it’s gonna be weird without it. Plus no more handlock :/
Only thing truly problematic with MG was Mage trading into your Minion at Turn 4 and replacing an 8-4 health Minion with two new 8-8 thanks to this abomination of an card called Conjurer's Calling, which ends the game 90% of times.
But why should I disechant the normal mountain giants now? Why don't keep them and disechant AFTER they move to wild for full dust value
You don't get full dust value for disenchanting HOF'ed cards. It's the normal ratio if you disenchant it, after all, you already get a full refund and keep the card.
Besides, the guy was wrong. If you already have the normal version, you don't need to craft them golden, there's no profit at all, it's exactly the same. You only craft golden if you don't have the card or a second copy of it.
Have normal Velen? Receive 1600 dust from HOF, disenchant it for 400 = 2000 dust.
Crafted golden while having normal Velen? Spend 3200, receive 3200, disenchant the golden for 1600 and the regular one 400 = 2000 dust.

Its a coinflip, either you get your opponents best minion, or you get their 1/1 and lose huge tempo. So, it makes so much sense to get rid of it.

HALL OF FAME DUST REFUNDS
It's all explained here: https://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/Hall_of_Fame#Dust_refunds

HoF Leeroy but do nothing about face damage spells? Yeah, fuck this game.
cos nothing should hit face? come on man
No minions apparently.
They undid the Raza nerf today.

Guys, it's simple: https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/card-discussion/186076-ultimate-dust-guide-for-hall-of-fame-cards
I didn't see any, maybe they will announce it next week when the actual rotation happens.
I’m kinda sad about auchenai 😢 that’s like one of my favorite cards ever. Rip auchenai circle combo
also I know mountain giant is problematic (probably?) but I feel like it’s gonna be weird without it. Plus no more handlock :/
