im not a f2p player at all, and i have no problem buying more packs i was going to do that anyways, but i buy packs with the intent of dusting X amounts of legends and epics for the cards i want. I do this maybe twice a week spending about $100 dollars a month on the game depending how lucrative my month was. That being said, i don't dust every card, just the ones i thought were niche and trash teir and didnt synergize with the rest of my collection. But. Those cards just changed and ive dusted them all a dozen times over so yeah im a little mad.
This is exactly what the game needs. So many cards sit dead unplayed so why not give them a buff to at least try and keep the game fresh? I dunno man, I don't get some people. I'm just glad Blizzard are trying new things.
this buff/nerf/free legendary announcement is a mess. The buffs are very interesting and encourage players to try something new by making these cards viable. Some are bad for the game (Pogo rogue might be a huge problem, and buffing warrior's Dr. Boom discover hero power is unnecessary), but I like most.
The nerfs were necessary, although Archivist Elysiana going to 9-mana seems... trite, like more of an esports problem than a ladder problem.
The free legendary is broken and not just because of priest getting a TTK for turn 5 (which sucks worse than Inner Fire). This is a card that also empowers token decks (druid and shaman will have some real power with this card), even mech hunter might consider this for board stability and building bigger problems in the late game for you to deal with.
Two steps forward... maybe three steps back? Hunters are going to love these changes, for sure.

Im cool with them buffing a few cards but 2 from each class is way excessive. The upcoming meta is completely unpredictible now. Im not going to, but i guarantee players will be dusting that gold legend to adjust to the way the meta shifts and thats the real reason theyre giving you the legend.
It won’t be worth any dust. None of the cards that they have ever given us have been worth dust. You must be new.
I think the quantity of buffs is fine, most of the buffed cards are still terrible, so it's not going to shake up the meta that much. Like storm bringer is still shit (though that could work for even shaman in wild), Flark's boom zooka is still awful since it just doesn't fit into a hunter deck.
And some of the ones that are decent now don't have support for them. Like extra arms is decent, but doesn't really fit into a priest deck.
Other buffs really only affect discovers, like the warrior mech upgrades, and expected results. Now those are decent discovers but would still never make it into a list.

It's not about a meta being stale or not. The devs have realized for a long time that they design cards that are intended to create new archetypes but then fall flat on their face upon release and never get played again. The purpose of it as i'm sure you know is to give these cards that don't see play a fighting chance to shake things up in the meta again. I hope they will start doing things like this for almost every expansion from now on as it breathes new life into the game and keeps players interested.

I think that they'll fix the new Legendary before its official release: we have to understand that although they're paid to test cards, but we live in a world were there are hundreds of them and it's literally impossible to check every single interaction (see Star Aligner Druid).
Despite not having any proof about what I'm trying to convince you about, I suggest you to have hope in this new game direction.

How is it that you spend $100 a month and still need to dust any cards at all? I personally only buy the expansion promo bundles (i.e. $50-80 every four months) and the rest with gold (about 6-7k gold saved up come each expansion), and I have more than enough dust to build all the top tier decks (and some fun decks) just by dusting duplicates. As a rule, I never dust non-duplicates unless they have rotated out of Standard (and even then I restrict myself to trash tier cards).
You shouldn't complain about the buffs just because you made poor dusting decisions.

I fully expect that if this card has the effect I expect it to, it will get nerfed either before or shortly after (probably 2-4 weeks) it's released. I'm just frustrated with this consistent pattern of Blizzard doing one thing well and at least one other thing badly. We can't get nerfs without a mixed bag of buffs?
I'm honestly hoping for some of the other buffed cards to show up as powerful alternatives to the existing meta, but my main concern is that control as an archetype is getting choked out because people don't like how long the matches can take. My buddy averages 14 minutes with his control warrior on ladder, per match. He averages 3 minutes with rogue. Because this bleeds into the esports scene, control (a not well-appreciated style in any video game genre) Blizzard has little reason to keep a truly balanced meta that allows control vs aggro with some fringe combo and one-off decks (at least, that's my idea of a healthy meta). Fast matches aren't just more interesting to the general public to view, they allow for more competitors in any given competition, bringing in a wider audience and encouraging larger prize pools, and round the circle of profit goes.
As much as I love hunter as a class, I don't want it defining the meta, just like tempo rogue defining the meta rn is not good. The base class design isn't healthy as a tier 1 "here's what you need to beat" definition of the ladder experience.
I have hope for Hearthstone, I just reserve sharing it for when I see something to back it up.

Anyone who says that Dr. Morrigan is a playable card deserves full, nay, total scorn and ridicule...
I really want to say it is for the memes, but I just can't. The only thing it has going for it, is that it isn't the worst card of the set. That disputeable honour goes to Harbringer Celestia
fuck it, im just going to buy double the amount of packs i normall buy this month and get it all back but its annoying that i have to increase my budget for it it was already my third biggest luxury expense
Well, they are meant more for "crafting" than "dusting" so I would not call them obsolete...
But I get your point, DEing bad epics and legendaries from the Standard expansions could more easily backfire going forward.

That was a huge announcement that determined what is likely to be a big chance in the game direction and even now there are people who aren't happy.
We really deserve to drown in Undertaker Hunter meta

Buffs? Greatest idea and HS needs a bit of innovation every so often to stay thrilling and this will be like a mid term brand new sets is kicking in

In this way, you do have your contribution to support the game. Maybe you just need to dust in a smarter way.
