If someone greets, I greet back and then quickly squelch. These are usually the people who will emote later on when they have lethal.
Thank you/ Well Played.
I lost, why would I think the game was Well Played? I drew crap and had no way to stop you from destroying me.
Or RNG kept me from having any advantage.
I don't want to know that since you won, you want to quickly emote me to rub it in a little harder.
This comment facinates me. "Why would you think I played well?" Victory and loss are not the be all end all descriptions of play, and attributing your loss to rng and card draw is a mistake.
It always amazes me how people can take such offense to your opponent playing one of the six mp3 files you've heard a thousand times before during a duel.

"Edgy quote about being too smart and suffering for it" - Literally who - 1890 Yes I am better than you, my signature implies it. Annoying Random colours.
Yes squelching is easy. But would you really want to remember having to press the squelch button every single game. Some people don't mind emotes which is fine but we can't ignore the people who hate it.
Under normal circumstances auto squelch would not be needed, however too many people spam emotes and I don't like them interrupting my thought train so I have auto-squelch on.
1) Arcane Tracker (mobile version) doesn't have the AQ feature like PC does.
2) As a mobile user, when your opponent or you disconnect, the squelch is turned off and sometimes without your knowledge.
3) EVERYONE has their "thing." Your thing might be, I hate to see the trash a little too high, or if someone rips off a paper towel and leaves a tear in the next paper towel, or your socks have to match...for some people, their "thing" are emotes.
I am neutral on the topic. If they implement one, great! If not, that's fine too. I would never use it but I can understand why players would like one. They view it as the equivalent of someone squeezing a blowhorn in their ear, you know?
How someone handles emotes in a video game has absolutely zero bearing on who they are in real life. I'm a very chill person in real life but I hit a losing streak in HS and I could make sailors blush. I have a lot of patience but when I drive, I curse up a storm cause I have road rage. These are my "things." I don't drive reckless and I don't put other motorists at risk. I cuss up a storm and keep going.
When I hit a losing streak, I stop playing the game for a while and do something else. I manage myself quit well. So the argument could be made that people need to manage themselves a little better. Or maybe the company should add in a feature that they offer in their other games.
Assholes are everywhere, not only on the internet and I really wonder how do you deal with them in real life, where things really matter.
I don’t really have any a holes in real life sorry to disappoint you.
You don't have to deal with any asshole in real life (which means you are a very lucky person) and do you dare to complain about people emoting in a video game? You have to be kidding... What's next, guys? Complaining about not being able to eat the best pizza in the world, while an insane amount of kids out there are starving? :(
I think someone who gets offended by an emote is very stupid and pathetic... Especially those, who claim, that a Greeting on the beginning is BM...
I usually use the emotes through the game, as a communication tool. If i miss something, or my opponent makes something cool, I usually emote... If someone doesn't like it, just squelch it.
I think emoting is only an issue/BM if it us spammed, and is combined with Roping

Actually -- and I'm not surprised that you were unaware of this -- people who are not assholes in real life tend to be treated with more kindness and consideration, so they really do have to deal with fewer assholes. It's not luck.

This is the first time a non HS product is interfering with a Blizzard policy (to keep up the emotes). The very fact that auto squelch is coming from outside Blizzard tells the story. How many packs Blizzard sold extra for refusing an auto squelch is unknown, but certainly not to be discarded as a revenue factor.
The injustice and repulsiveness of forcing people to squelch every time vs. the vulgar 'joy' of the fanboy to emote out of 'fun' has been a thorn in the eye since beta. Now vulgar appaling behavior is done (it seems).
Of course Blizzard makes its money by debasing people, taking way their self-respect through mindlessness. The lack of self-respect and poor development of ethical skills makes the fanboy a remarkable subhuman. A humanoid if you will. Disgusting creatures.
Making money by making people assholes is nauseating. I welcome the stop to the harnessing of lowest urges of human behavior calling it 'fun'

I really wish the game had autosquelch. It's a feature that would be easy to code, improve the playing experience for a % of players like myself, and hurt absolutely nobody. It surprises me that the devs are soooo stupid they haven't managed to add this feature in to one of the many updates we've seen over the years. The only thing I find dumber is that people take the time to argue against adding the feature.

I'm not talking only about me, guys, I know I'm an asshole :D. I'm talking about many people I know who suffered (and still suffers) a lot in life thanks to others, especially a friend who was bullied by most of his classmates at high-school. Are you trying to tell me it was his fault? Are you serious?
The people who think emotes are toxic just aren’t functioning human beings. Imagine someone says “hi” to them in real life and they just get pissed. Grow up, it’s just text.

I just want to never hear an emote in this game and not have to squelch every game, ia that too muxh to ask for users of this website?
