So since the release of the card "Whizbang is Wonderful" in boomsday, I've become more and more attracted to playing ranked with it. I'll have you know I've had 0 success achieving anything past rank 16 competitively with it, but I feel like I consistently have unique, fun, and different experiences with hearthstone, which has brought me back to doing my dailies and enjoying them.
I've found it ridiculously fun to randomly get, Mech Warrior, Bwansambi Priest, Armor Druid (believe it or not, I usually win with this one), Paladins that aren't odd paladin!
By far the best experience ever is to queue up against someone playing the tier 1 Hunter deck, Whizbang yourself into a Gonk Druid or something equally unheard of, and find away to win... My only complaint is that when you beat someone, your portrait doesn't explode and unveil Whizbang in his glory. (Come on Blizzard, this one was an obvious choice... the ultimate. "WELL PLAYED". Can that happen with the golden one? I'd craft it right now. I'd also love to see a card like whizbang that drastically reduces your ability to consistently win, but award you an extra star while laddering haha)
Lastly, the exposure to cards you would never craft for real, but would love to play a few rounds with, is incredibly satisfying.
Anyone else playing allot with this? Or am I alone in this camp?
Did play with him few times in casual (got him in Golden when he was released), I was lucky to get the mage decks several times so I was able to win. Wish Blizz would add a feature to play against other Whizzbang Players in Ladder.
If I would get him he will be a reminder I won't open him again, 10/10 would disenchant if the dupe legendary rule didn't apply, luckily for me I didn't open it.
I opened a Golden Whizbang on Day 1 of the expansion. I was pretty excited to say the least and proceeded to use nothing but that card while the meta settled into place. It was a lot of fun since the recipes during Boomsday were quite powerful.
Now, I only use Whizbang when I have the 80 gold play a friend quest.
I made a golden wizzbang on my wifes account. She hasnt played in a few years so its fun for me to log in and play a full golden deck while knocking off dailys. I also have a golden wizzbang on my account but I dont really play with it as I have standard/wild decks Id rather use.
Ultimately Whizbang is a terrible card. Great first few weeks but once the meta gets set is when Whizbang is a very predictable losing deck. I get happy when I see someone playing their Whizbang deck - means it's a guaranteed win. At least with netdeckers they might throw in a surprise card or a variation of the deck. You get the same ole Sh!t with Whizbang for the entire xpac.
So I think this keys on one of hearthstones greatest weaknesses. A win is a win regardless of quality. But damn do those quality wins feel so much better. A Whizbang win is worth at least 3 odd paladin wins in my book :) (Don't get me wrong, odd-paladin was fun for awhile, but after 6 months it got REALLY old) What I really like about whizbang is the fact that it you have 27 decks you are playing at the same time. The odds of getting the same one frequenty at all are very low, and the fact that they rotate each expansion is really fun.
But there is no doubt that Whizbang isn't a competitve phone at all!
I pulled a golden one in my pre-order packs, played it a couple of times, ignored it since. I've never understood what all the fuss is about... a random Blizz-constructed deck! Yay?
For newer players I guess I can see some appeal. If I could donate it to charity I would.

Nope, I have a big collection and always 9 standard 9 wild decks ready to play, I don't need whisbang and I got lucky I didn't open it in packs
I'll play Whizbang for 2 weeks when the new expansion drops and then I'm done with him again. How it will probably be every new expansion from now.

Only when I'm bored. I have the ability to make those decks anyways, so usually I'll just play my own homebrew decks in Casual.

Join me at Out of Cards!
I crafted golden whizbang day one of expansion.
I will never forgive myself.
Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
Whizbang is fun but winning is more fun.

First golden legendary I crafted is whizbang!
I'm more into fingerbanging, but sure Whizbang is fun too.

No reason to use him
im an eu player and i crafted a golden one for my na account. whenever i get bored of meta staleness ill take him there at lower ranks

I'll bang your whiz, if you know what I mean ;;;;))))
I'm an infrequent Whizbanger. From time to time I'll pop him into an empty deck slot and try and get a few wins. Can be fun, can be frustrating.
I'm tempted to craft him Golden just to have all Gold decks. But no. I'll resist.
For now....
4/3/19 RIP Keith Flint. 😔
Thx for the reminder, just added him to my disenchant list
